As soon as they get home she's jumping on his dick, isn't she?
HTTYD thread. Scalefags pls stay away.
Ok cool. Lets talk about the cool dragon desi-
>Scalefags pls stay away
What else is there to talk about?
Just finished the first season of the show. Snotlout is a count forever, but JFC Mildew. He's really gone from crotchety old man with a rod up his ass to straight up deranged. And apparently he gets worse in season 2? The fuck, man.
I did enjoy Fishlegs snapping on Snotlout, though.
Mildew got increasingly more dangerous with each new appearance.
Honestly? Once he starts taking orders from Alvin he becomes a lackey.
Wonder if he'll splinter off again now that there's peace between the Outcasts and the Hoolingans.
That dude REALLY wants to get back at Hiccup.
Maybe he can arrange something with Dagur.
i heard the next season is before the movie, i guess that is ok, there is a lot that could happen still, and everyone will not have seen the second movie at this point, but the season after that is most likely post movie.
yfw snoutlout looked up to stoick as a father figure instead of how own dad
I want to see Hiccup coming up with the idea for the Dragon Blade. In fact, more Hiccup engineering shenanigans in general would be great. I loved the shield that he had in Season 2, although that did seem to disappear without explanation. It would be great to see him piecing his armour together, seeing him gradually go from Hiccup in the first movie to Hiccup in the second, but I guess they need it to keep his image the same from film 2.
>but I guess they need it to keep his image the same from film 2.
I'm not sure what you mean by that.
Well I might be wrong, but something tells me they'll want to keep him in the same design of armour for the TV show as the film, even if it's set before the movie. For recognisability purposes, and the fact that the animators probably don't want to keep designing multiple costumes for one character. We'll have to wait and see I guess. TV Hiccup wore the same clothes as movie Hiccup in Seasons 1 and 2.
I just wish the other kids would get more storylines.
Hiccup is cool and all, but we allready got both movies and the majority of the first two seasons about him and frankly no much new came out of it.
Meanwhile the other kids safe for Astrid did not get much to do in the second movie, perhaps even less than the first. So they could deserve some time in the series.
Otherwise they are just wallpaper and you have to wonder what their point is?
Well I'm a Hiccup fanboy. So I'll be happy either way. He is the main character so it's difficult to get away from him. And Season 1 and 2 did spend plenty of time with the ancillary characters, even if they weren't necessarily always evenly developed. I wouldn't mind a bit of backstory for everyone. We got some for Astrid in 'Fright of Passage', but that's about it.
It's Hiccup's story.
I understand wanting more from the other kids, but you can't move the story away from Hiccup.
I like seeing him grow.
As little as they get, at least Dragons handles the kids better than KFP handles the furious five.
>Scalefags pls stat away
Are we pissed with /tg/? How can you tell our bro to stay away
Man, those gloves Astrid wears sure look comfy as fuck.
Solve disputes, name babies, help at various task around the village, comerce with the leaders of other villages.
I presume he'd still need to teach riders, too.
Astrid will probably take care of a lot of stuff.
>That part in the series where Astrid described Stormfly to Stoick
>"Just because she's beautiful, people think she's not tough. But that doesn't mean you should underestimate me. Uh—her."
Anyone else love that part?
That episode is great.
It's a shame they had to let Thornado go. Effective feels, though.
already posted on /toy/ but I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out
Looking for any of pic related for my 4 year old. Heck if I could just get Cloudjumper it would make her day. I realize these are really popular so I'm hoping for non-rape prices. In the US.
Why did the series move over to Netflix? Do cartoons tend to do well on an internet platform?
Check out the detail on Valka's nasty-ass hand
>still no good torrent of HTTYD2
Why must life be so hard?
Pic unrelated, but it's the only dragon i got saved
Just watched this movie even though I haven't seen anything from the franchise before. It was pretty great.
My only complaint would be Valka's design (she looked far to unrugged for someone who spend her last 20 years without another person among dragons) and how useless she was for the last part.
/tg/ as a whole isn't scalie, it's like twelve people from /v/, /co/, and /tg/ who perpetuate this myth. I bet you're one of them.
It's against the rules in all three boards, and widely frowned upon.
>Based on DreamWorks Animation’s hit How to Train Your Dragon films, the new episodes bridge the gap between the first feature film and the much-anticipated sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2, hitting theaters this summer. Weaving a continuous storyline, the television series works in tandem with the feature films and DVD specials, allowing fans to delve deeper into dragon lore. From the origin of Hiccup’s new flight suit and the secrets of his dragon blade to the young Viking’s budding romance with Astrid, DreamWorks Dragons on Netflix gives viewers rich details of the larger narrative with the introduction of new dragons, exotic places and worlds unknown.
>mfw no execs cockblocking Hiccup no more
>From the origin of Hiccup’s new flight suit and the secrets of his dragon blade to the young Viking’s budding romance with Astrid
More like giving his dragon blade to Astrid, if you know what I mean.
>just finished the last HTTYD book
>you have finally consumed all official HTTYD media in known existence
What do I do now? Apart from wait for more obviously.
I've played the tie in for the first film and took a brief look at the Facebook/mobile game. I wasn't aware of any other games at the moment. It's a shame because there's great potential there for a really good game which isn't being used.
Any word on when we can expect the DVD to come out?
There's another short in it.
Hoping for more glorious hiccstrid.
AAAAAAAAAAGH AAAAAAAAAAAGH AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Is that what I think it is? Because if it is...
Just a reminder that Hiccup never had a family dinner
>We will never see grandpa Stoick
Dragons are born from ashes, every viking is burnt when they die, every viking reincarnates as a Dragon, Stoic will be back as a Dragon
Its my head canon and I'm sticking to it T_T
What kind of dragon do you think Stoick would be reincarnated as? Would he be his own special type?
Because I'm picturing Hiccup coming across a little Terrible Terror that starts to follow him around and is fiercely protective him, no matter the enemy. It confuses him, but he doesn't realize it's actually Stoick as a dragon.
>come to /co/ wondering if there's a HTTYD thread
>first thing I see
Don't forget your backpack
I came across a gallery of HD images. It's in Chinese and you have to have an account to actually view them in full size, but you can get around that by copying the thumbnail url and replacing the 220x220 in it with whatever the actual image size is.
However, most of them have just been resized to be that big so they're not truly HD, but there's some good stuff there.
Sometimes I have really awesome dreams, this time I hope a have a HTTYD one
Another day of feels...
See you all tomorrow
I find it sad that Toothless got redesigned as a generic 'badass' dragon, with a design that doesn't even fit the aesthetic of the other dragons. I get that he's the headline dragon of the franchise, but would it kill the company to make him less, you know, all of him?
I don't know shit about the books, but I feel Toothless is a bit too "perfect." He gets to be the fastest, strongest dragon, but also the cutest and most likeable. I do like Toothless, but sometimes it's a bit too much.
From a strictly statistical point of view there's a lot of areas that he's technically weaker in. The thing is that he gets by far the most screentime, and benefits from a proxy upgrade by being a main character - which makes him appear stronger and better than he actually is. Lots of the other dragons have abilities that are superior to Toothless, but we don't really get to see them in action. And the possibility of a 1v1 with Toothless is not really on the cards. He's definitely the fastest dragon, but in terms of physical strength, fire breath etc. there are others which surpass him.
I'm the guy in the picture
I see what you mean. In the first HTTYD it made perfect sense for it to be about him and squarely him, but in the second one the reasoning fell off and it felt less natural and more like shoehorning.
I sure do!
Cloudjumper acquired, still looking for a few others, no specifics.
already on it, I taught her my favorite joke
Rene Descartes walks into a bar and proceeds to order many drinks. The bartender says to him a while later, seeing he is completely inebriated, ‘I think you’ve had enough.’ Descartes slurs, ‘I think not!’ Then he disappears.
>you will never have a qt dragon boyfriend
The source of all suffering.
Does this look like the face of mercy to you?
That's the one then. I would have bought it but then I realized I'd be spending $20 on something that would probably just end up in a closet.
There was also a different plus that was full body and looked more like how he does in the movies, as well as some smaller plushes of other dragon types.
It's surprising that the first movie has aged so poorly. The dragons still look good, the flying sequences look good, but a lot of the character models/textures look really rough now. I guess it's probably because 2 is still fresh in my mind so it's hard to see the first without comparing how it looks to the second, and the second just looks amazing.
Maybe rough wasn't the best word to use, but it does look dated to me. Astrid's hair looks like straw, a lot of stuff just looks plastic to me. I love the movie, but I don't think it's held up as well as other animated movies from that time, looks-wise.
>tfw want to learn HTTYD music on piano
>tfw can't because you suck at piano
Does anyone here sometimes wonder and think about what it would be like to be a girl?
>implying that's ever something to feel awkward about
What is this, a perfectly good HTTYD thread? A good dose of FAGGOTRY will solve that!
I don't really care if it ends with all dragons leaving or not, as long as they do it well it's fine by me.
I'd like to see hiccstrid marriage and/or babies. It seems like the fitting way to conclude the growth of their relationship.
>Halfway through it cuts to an aged Hiccup writing in his house
>Not elderly but graying
>As he talks the camera pans over painting covering the walls, detailing the events of the movies, as well as events we haven't seen
>Ends on a painting of an adult him and Atrid with their kids and dragons, the kids each have a baby dragon of whatever species
>cut to credits
This. I don't mind if it's sad, but it has to be satisfying and cathartic. I'd like lots of callbacks to the first and second movies as well if possible. Implying that the journey has come full circle. Sometimes a generic happy ending just doesn't cut it.
There's another one coming out in the middle of the month.
I'd like to see it end with some hope. If they're going with the planned ending, I want to see something that keeps it from being depressing as shit. Not sure what, because I'm not very creative, but I'd like to be able to leave the theater not 100% completely emotionally destroyed.
>you will never get to do this with Hiccup's official model
>20 years have passed, and Hiccup has settled into being chief
>all the teens have had children, him and Astrid have Stoick, and all the dragons have had their babies grown up too
>the children of the dragons are given to the children of the teens
>he still hasn't seen another night fury
>he's getting old; he can't fly as fast
>Hiccup sees him looking at the dragons with their babies
>Toothless needs someone to carry on being alpha for him
>Hiccup knows this and makes another tail that allows him to fly on his own
>with reluctance Toothless sets out to find other night furies
>Hiccup tells himself it's for the best, but he still suffers
>every day he looks out at the sunset wondering if Toothless will ever be back
>does this for several weeks
>then one day, when he's sitting out there, the head of Toothless calmly sets down next to him
>Hiccup is overjoyed, but asks Toothless what happened since he sees no other night furies with him
>when Hiccup brings up that he needs a family, Toothless nudges him
>he realizes it
>he's the only family Toothless ever needs
>they hug in the sunset
There can be only one!
>tfw was going to write this fanfic but feared people wouldn't really like/respond to it
I think I might now.
Why watch it alone when you can watch it with /co/?
We can talk about how we want to have sex with Astrid, how we want to have sex with Hiccup, how we want to have sex with Toothless.
It'll be fun!
>implying I want my feels to be interrupted by ">ywn ride Astrid by day and Toothless by night" or whatever the fuck it is every five minutes
all jokes aside, that does sound nice
On one hand
>Hated by village throughout most of early life
>Dad dies because you fucked up and mom is a crazy dragonphile
On the other hand
>Cute dragon bro to ride on
>Village loves you after you tame dragons
>Hot viking gf who's heads over heels in love with you.
It's hard to say if Hiccup is suffering or not.
This? Is this what you want you crazy bastard?
maybe with me doing the hugging
After the sun goes down,
we fly together on Toothless and see the Aurora Borealis up close. She holds me tight with a smile. At the end of it we share a kiss and all is right.
>Not wanting a bitchin' prosthetic
Chicks dig battle scars, dude!
I lost both my arms, both my legs, and my left eye. I've got so much pussy coming my way I have to bat women away with my fake arm!
Never lose hope anon, I found my Astrid (Thank-you to >>64340023 for already sharing our picture) You just have to keep searching. You'll make a few mistakes, I had my share of
Heathersbut you'll eventually find your Astrid.
Not many, just ones that appear to be one way but then turn out to be completely different. Definitely ones you don't want. Been dating "Astrid" for almost 3 years. She's my best friend as much as my girlfriend. I would lose my leg for her.
I took her to see the live show shortly after we started dating. She'd never seen the movie but was interested. After the show we immediately went to the nearest best buy to get her a copy of the movie. She loves it as much as I do, and I love that.
The animitronic dragons look amazing. I'm a big Jurassic Park fan, so I was as excited for those as I was for the fact it was HTTYD. However Toothless isn't nearly as cute as in the movies.
Plot of the movie from what I remember. But looking at the cast list now I see there is an Alvin, so maybe they've changed it a little. Definitely worth seeing if you have the chance though.
True, her family are also the only vikings not from Berk that haven't tried to destroy Berk.
But they're more realistic looking, which I think is what they were going for. They still look badass as IRL dragons, in place of being cute.
I've only read the short stories and a couple of the long ones years ago.
Here's the second part, everybody.
They need to weaponize that shit.
>you will be be Stoick
>I will marry the woman of my dreams, have a best friend all my days and be a noble chief that protects my people from all harm?
>I will have a brilliant son that grows into a brave young man, a hero! The father of the dragonriding tradition of my people.
>After my wife is taken from me, I get to see her again even if only for one day.
>I meet my end, not in bed, enfeebled by old age and sickness, but on the protecting my son on the field of glorious battle before joining my ancestors in Valhalla.
>thornado a gronkle
someone doesn't into physiology
>HTTYD thread. Scalefags pls stay away.
Don't tell me what to do gayfag.
It's good, nothing special.
Hiccstrid is kept to ship teasing, like in >>64414925
Villains are fantastic, the best part of the show by far.
Twins are hilarious even if their stupidity is overblown compared to the films.
Animation is sometimes as good as the first film (if more restrained), sometimes it's very bad.
First few episodes are mostly there for setting up the post-movie status quo. It only gets going once Alvin is introduced.
WE DID IT!! now for more cute Astrid
This image makes me want rule 34 Hicstrid with apathetic Hiccup.
Astrid reporting in, thanks for the compliment :)
Hiccup here. Currently in school for an engineering degree to make an animatronic Toothless to be my BFF.
Going to need a CS to help you too most likely along with an EE.
Maybe even a few psychologist to hammer out the behavior also.
I can help I want a toothless too. ;_;
Why are Stoick and Valka so perfect?
There love was too pure for this world
>that moment you realize you need more Stoic and/or Valka
What's the name of that ship?
I've only ever seen it called Stalka
Lets just face it, Hiccup is awesome and all, but he'll never be Stoic. He'll never be the big burly, typical viking that will carve your face up with an axe, but will turn to absolute putty because the woman he loves smiled at him.
I knew there was a reason I like the rule 63 of those two so much.
anon... time to take a look in the mirror see what you really are at this point.
It's one of my faves. Outdated, but great nontheless.
Be sure to read its sequel, When In Rome. The tone couldn't be more different, but there's still a lot of good stuff in there.
Talking in Her Sleep is excellent. When in Rome is...
it's not bad but jesus fucking christ it's a damned epic. It's like 20 fucking chapters IIRC and while you do find yourself getting pulled in it's absolutely exhausting getting through it.
I love it because its an epic. Lots of different angles, various subjects, cast really well handled.
And I love the historical angle and trivia the author works in.
Deffinitely not a light read. I suggest taking your time.
