Literally the dumbest/most unnecessary setting for a movie I've ever seen.

>in this alternate timeline Japan became and acquired part of the United States, achieving statehood in 1956
>the open exchange of individuals led to a massive cultural shift on the east coast of the US and west coast of Japan

It's pretty cool to me

Shut up, it's well-designed and attractive and cool
>>
>unnecessary has become a buzzword
What the hell does a "most unnecessary setting" even mean?

I remember Greenblatt saying they used Moroccan architecture as a reference for creating marzipan, and it really fits the whimsical world of Chowder.

Chowder has GOAT design and atmosphere, my personal favorite style has too be the ATLA, DC animated universe or Voltron's art style. Sure its kind of boring off-shoot of anime, but it serves its purpose for cool fight scenes and such

I haven't read comics for almost 2 years now because I can't read anything without triggering a migraine. It frustrates me so much because I miss it so much. I miss you all so much

Stop posting that shitty YT "fan video".

No official trailer has come out, so until then fuck off.

Reminder that Timbox and Anytownfag are not the same guy, Timbox doesn't give a shit about cartoons that aren't Genndy Tartakovsky or dinosaurs.
>>
No. The new art style looks like garbage and his parents shouldn't even be mentioned outside of memories and discussions with his grandparents. Turning a down to earth slice of life into some kind of adventure movie to satisfy the main character's loss that has already been emotionally dealt with is a retarded idea that shouldn't have made it past the drawing board. It will be probably be as bad as the last season and the movie.

I'm confused.
Is this supposed to be fantasy satire like, say, Army of Darkness?

The animation is excellent but the dialogue is so incredibly cliched, it's baffling. It sounds like something straight out of one of those novels with shirtless dudes on the cover that middle-aged women pick up at the airport. Please, explain.

We have to kill Dracula, there's no other choice!

Warren Ellis is someone who writes in a way that's self-aware about genre tropes without going into self-deprecation. I haven't watched the show but I imagine it's something like that.

>It sounds like something straight out of one of those novels with shirtless dudes on the cover that middle-aged women pick up at the airport.
It's genre fiction, dude. It's not meant to be Shakespeare. It's plot-driven, the dialogue and characters are just window dressing.

The story is all just a vehicle to deliver scenes of a guy slicing a creature from the black lagoon with a barbed whip.

>Warren Ellis is someone who writes in a way that's self-aware about genre tropes without going into self-deprecation

So it's detached and ironic but in a way that isn't immediately reflected in the material itself?

Just looking at it it's obvious that it's a parody of old style cartoons rather than one itself.

In 2006

I've been wanting to go to SDCC for a while and wanted to hear some of the worst stories you guys have about going. It looks like madness over there but it seems like something worth attending at least once or twice but I want to know the stories without the rose-tinted glasses everyone seems to have.

SDCC is the Bonnaroo of comics
>>
>>94074597
If you have the patience for huge crowds and long lines, have the money to spent, and don't mind being shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of random people then you'll be okay. Generally speaking though, outside of some of the A-list guests, you can find pretty much anything available at SDCC attending a smaller con or two.
>>
I've only been to C2E2 and NYCC, but they're all ran by Reedpop so you're getting the same experience but on a smaller, more manageable scale.

Depends what you're going for though, are you there for AA, celebrities, panels, merch?

If they have a flashback of Uncle Ben in the next Spiderman movie, they should have Joe Pesci play him.

some people just cant accept that movies about super heroes are currently popular, well loved, and having been arounf for nearly 10 years in their current interation, possibly long term

it's easy to crap on popular things, since you get so much brownie points on 4chan for appearing to rise up from the masses
>>
Yeah when it becomes institutionalized come talk to me about your persecution for enjoying a genre. Until then fuck off and grow thicker skin.
