What do you think about the western anime phenomenon?

An artstyle is an artstyle.
Country of origin does not matter.
It's all animated in Korea anyway
It's cancerous though, you don't have the cultural nuances to make your cartoon like your precious weeb shit so you shouldn't bother

Why is the west copying anime artstyle all of a sudden?
>The first episode is polarizing, albeit decent for a Disney cartoon
>The threads and discussion will be minimal for the first 3/4 of the season though there will be one or two notable stand out episodes. Hints of plot will get dropped
>The show will get hate because of reasons. (Too loud, too annoying, comedy is bad, x character is boring, plot is repetitive, etc.)
>The first season will end with a very standout episode justifying it's existence. Also there will be a main villain who everyone will like
>In season 2, the fandom will explode because the lore will get deeper, the characters will develop further. Threads will become a mainstay of the board
>Between season 2A and 2B, we'll look back at those opinions of the first episode and be like "wow, we were such faggots"
This is what's going to happen. How do I know?
It's happened for every Disney XD cartoon lately that had a continuous story. Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Star vs., it's the same thing. Heck, it was happening with Wander over Yonder, it just got cancelled because the first season didn't turn enough heads. It's a constant pattern. As someone who initially dropped Star vs on the first episode, I can attest to this.
As for the DT pilot itself, it was pretty good. I'd say it was better than PaF and Star's premiere but not as good as GF's

>Phineas and Ferb
>Gravity Falls
>Star vs. The Forces of Evil
>Wander Over Yonder
Amidst all this namedropping you forgot to include one major factor in your prediction, faggot: not a solitary one of those shows was based on a preexisting property. DuckBoot has DuckTales AND a rich history of comic books to be compared to. It will have to work a hell of a lot harder than Gravity Falls ever did to win this board's overwhelming support.
>>94596691
True enough. I still think I'm right though.
>win this board's overwhelming support.
That never happened with any of the shows I mentioned though. That's not the point
>>94596691
This board is mostly Americans though and we don't really read duck comics much.
I mean, everyone's read Life and Times but that's pretty much it for most people's duck knowledge here except for one or two outliers.
Also, original Ducktales was good for its timeand for when you were much younger and didn't understand qualitybut watching it now is painful.
So is stealing Hulk going to actually bite him on the ass and ruin his life?
>>94596327
You know with a cover like that it's as if they saw "New Super-Man" and thought "well DC has blatant asia-grab with one of their cash-cows why can't we?"
This isn't even attempting to be Hulk. It's literally just "Look at these asian characters." (Pakistan is in asia before someone REEs about their Kamala-fu)
>>94596327
>stealing Hulk
the fuck are you on about?
Wait, Silk is Asian?
A LITTLE OVER-EATING
NEVER DID YOU ANY HARMwhat did they mean by this?

i dont know
Humans regularly consume over 2500 calories which leads to weight gain

Prime was my favorite series tho
I was introduced with G1 though
So are any of the GI Joe cartoons actually good?
Sure man.
I personally think fun, even stupid fun, is good.
>>94595226
The original is goofy fun and probably the best Sunbow cartoon, maybe rivalled by Inhumanoids or Visionaries.
Renegades is unironically great.
Everything else ranges from meh to shit.
TERRY!
>>94595117
>CURSE YOU TERRY THE TEENAGE BOY!!!
>>94595117
YOU HAVE TO RAPE THE JOKER
>Bruce, I'm in the bad guys hideout. It's turns out they're *OOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF (crashes through wooden crates)
>executive meddling up the ass
>two different directors with wildly different styles among attempts to "lighten up" what was undoubtedly a bleak and convoluted slogfest
>last-minute reshoots to change the ending and flesh out Steppenwolf, somehow
This is gonna be a dumpster fire.
It's guaranteed a commercial success though. As for the film itself both the directors are shit so it'll be bad but unlike Snyder critics actually like Whedon and if he can shove enough quips into it perhaps it'll get a fresh tomato.
>>94595140
Watching the Snyderdrones tie themselves in knots defending a film packed with quips (that has a plot ripped straight from the Avengers) will be amazing.
>>94595159
>that has a plot ripped straight from the Avengers
Shit, I just realize that by necessity of what they've set up in this movie, it will be about fighting an alien army that's coming through a portal. They're even setting up the mother boxes as a sort of Tesseract proxy in the story.
I kinda ignored Rick and Morty for all this time but after seeing such high frequency memes about it I watched the season 3 trailer and was surprised at how consistently smooth the animation is. Is it always like this? Because I'm impressed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeAw6aXHzcY
How come most western cartoons don't have such good-looking animation? It all seems to be cheaply made Flash shit from what I've seen. I don't know how they made Rick and Morty but that clearly seems to be the way to do it.
This actually got decent animation—way better than your Reddit-tier garbage.
>>94595098
Actually, no, that's a good example of the lazy Flash shit I'm talking about.
>>94595068
HIGH FREQUENCY MEMES
>glowingeyesinexcitement.png
Why was there controversy about this movie again? It really wan't much more violent than Bambi.
I've heard a number of people reminiscing how their parents decided to buy a cute cartoon about bunnies for their young kid, but they didn't realize that the movie has a couple of scenes with blood-soaked mutilated corpses on-screen. Bambi has some scenes involving death too, but they're not as graphic.
>>94594879
But it is.
>>94594879
There wasn't the film was a massive success in the UK. Then again going by the Government PSA's from this period, and the fact Jimmy Savile was a national treasure. Traumatizing children was no big deal.
Cartoons that are more disturbing to you as an adult than when you were a kid
>>94594523
>tfw you watch it as an adult on acid and realize it's about consumerism
really fucked me up
>>94594535
The worthless song really messed me up when I watched it again 18 years later. It meant nothing to me as a kid but as an adult it's my living nightmare
>>94594523
I love that movie but even as a kid it didn't get past me that it has a rather melancholic mood at best and downright depressing at worst. I mean, right off the bat the whole plot gets moving thanks to the air conditioner dying full of regret from what amounts to a rage induced heart attack. Some haunting shit, that. And yes, the Worthless song of course. It was quite disturbing to begin with but it manages to be even worse now that its content has become far more palpable to me.
Still, a great movie and I love it and all the songs are right on the money. Better than its spiritual successor Toy Story I'd say.
Is this supposed to be grown up Roxanne?
>>94594264
DUCK'D
>>94594264
Doubt it. Just some random extra that looks vaguely like her. At best its a vague hint at doing something later, like mentioning Cape Suzette and Spoonerville.
Roxanne had a mole on her left cheek and human ears.
So what happened to show/don't tell?
Refresh my memory, which part of the episode are you talking about?
