As good as Batman Beyond was, were all of it's rogues just massively wasted potential?
Even though the stories were compelling, it feels like a shame to introduce us to a new character with an interesting design and gimmick Terry must overcome, only to kill them off at the end of the episode.
At the same times however, since Terry's rogues rarely return, does that make him a more effective Batman than Bruce?
I think Dini and Timmand company, being themselves sort of purists who preferred the originals to the Legacy characters, knew that they weren't going to be doing this to create long-lasting characters, butjusts et out to do good stories. they ddin't have any prior appearances to stay faithful to, and they probably weren't interested in making these characters timeless or made to appear in comics 25 years onwards. Ironically, this approach has proven to make for more long-lasting and memorable characters, since we're still talking about this show decades later.

Yeah, /thread basically.
As for an in-universe explanation, I always figured that super-villain in general just couldn't survive as long-term threats in a world where technology had advanced so rapidly (from B&W television sets to fucking flying cars within the same lifetime) while society itself hardly matured at all well enough to use any of it. Gotham essentially went through an immediate shift from prohibition-era gangsters and sideshow freaks, to modern lone-wolf terrorists who virtually all die in a blaze of glory before getting the opprotunity to become repeat offenders. It's a little hard to judge objectively just how effective on his own Terry was compared to Bruce, but his Batman was definitely in a better position to thrive against the next generation of super-criminals than Bruce was in his time.

I was thinking of this last night
I mean who really can come back? Shriek and Inque?
Hi /co/
What do you think of the multiverses going on after Ultimates 2 #100?
- The one above all ruling them all
- First where the anti-life came
- Second Omega Force, where Marvel Death Celestials and Omeca Council came also where Darkseid took his Omega Force from the Death Celestials but still needs to approach the first to take the anti-life equation.
- Third is Golden Age Comics multiverse of DC, Timely, Whiz, Quality, etc.
- Fourth is Silver Age Comics multiverse (Marvel/Stan Lee joins)
- Fifth is Bronze Age
- Sixth is Modern jointed, Amalgam
- Seventh is Marvel pre Secret Wars
- DC New Earth after crisis on infinite earths, starts when bronze age ends
- DC 52 (after infinite crisis and 52)
- Eight is Marvel post secret wars
- DC New 52 after flashpoint
- DC Dark New 52 (Dark Nights)
There are infinite multiverse, old ones are still alive.
Until Amalgam DC and Marvel were in the same multiverses, that`s why old crossovers (Superman/Spiderman, Batman/Hulk, X-men/Teen Titans, etc.), after Amalgam they splintered in different multiverses still the analog universes remains (earth7 and earth8 in DC and squadron supreme, great society) if they want to cross will be multiversal cross overs.
>>94761388
wtf
DC's multiverse is not finite. The 52 Earths are just the local ones.
>>94761427
the 52 earths are finite as you said, that`s the finite multiverse that is there (not all the different DC`s multiverses, that together are infinite).
When more DC`s multiverse show up they will be added like the Dark 52.
>show features a super hero team
>they are fighting their arch nemesis in a epic last stand
>everyone dies horrible and painful deaths except the only girl in the group who walks away completely unscathed
Wow.
Talk such equality. You go girl

Does anyone know what he is doing up these days? Does he still even get any work?
IIRC he did some GLs Rebirth, but honestly probably just doing commissions is better for him than working on monthlies. There's a point where working yourself that much to keep to the schedule is just not good for you.
>>94761082
He has his own studio now that does new commissions every Friday.
I assume he is persona non grata on Marvel.

Okay, it's 2:30...
This series got weirder and less funny with every episode.
I think making so many characters central to the "plot" is its problem. Amy, Sonic and Rouge are painfully unfunny but at least Cream, Tails and the Chaotix could still make me laugh in the last two parts. Shadow just gets less and less funny as time goes.
