Some info about this historic issue:
It's the introduction of Prince Adam as He-Man's alter ego. Of course the transformation is not the same with the later appearances. Adam in perhaps one of the most interesting takes of the character, he is basically "He-Man in disguise". He possess super human strength, he is a drinker and a bar brawler, a barbarian prince.
Superman will meet Skeletor, for the 1st time and he will be defeated, with Skelly exposing his weakness in magic. 30 years later in the 2nd crossover Supes (Superbro in this case) will be defeated once again by Skeletor.

You've gotta understand
it came right after a point that was highly contentious ( i liked it, but I understand why people thought it was ludicrous. I mean they DID fight an Eva)
and right before the final scene, which ruined the entire series.
