Is this the biggest case of self-sabotage in the history of the universe?
I wonder if it took John K. a few years to realize he completely fucked himself out of any future Ren & Stimpy revivals/merchandise/royalties.
I still don't know how Nickelodeon approved of this.i didn't even really dislike it that much, i'm just baffled that it got made in the first place
Not sure how credible he is, but John says that Spike made them add all the overtly explicit stuff, whereas he would've just kept making the show as it was
>>92395889
the homoerotic shit was alllll him though
it's 100% the reason R&S won't be in that shared universe Nicktoons movie that's apparently happening for some reason.
I know this is off topic, but oh well. It would be interesting to see a john k/seth macfarlene collaboration. I feel like theyre both attracted to the same aesthetic. Like, macfarlene can do the writing and john k can do the animation. Craig mccracken can come, too. Im thinking of something along the lines of "Madmen: The Animated Series."

Other than pic related, what other team books have this many based writers without any shit ones in between?
Are we talking quantity of writers or consecutive good issues?
>>92395734
Consecutively good issues, few writers but they're all damn good
>>92395770
I guess I ask mostly because there's stuff like Ostrander's Suicide Squad that has one main writer that's about the same length. And I haven't read the whole thing but Claremont's X-Men is probably in the conversation just by notoriety?
Runs in general used to be much longer. Modern books probably can't compete.

IF I STOLE THAT PICNIC BASKET WOULD YOU DIE?
given that the X-Men movie continuity is fucked, should they just bring back Emma Frost? Killing her off screen between First Class and DOFP seemed like such a waste.
>>92394636
>given that the X-Men movie continuity is fucked, should they just bring back Emma Frost?
Nah. Yeah, it's shitty the killed her offscreen, but they still made it terribly obvious that she is dead.
Also, I don't think Theron would be a good choice. She's a good actress, but she doesn't have the rack for Frost.
>>92394709
>but they still made it terribly obvious that she is dead
I doubt general audiences would remember. Like how they forgot Charles died in X3 but came back, how Angel is in the 80s instead of the present like in X3, or how Emma Frost is in both First Class and Origins, etc…
My point is that the X-Men films seem to do whatever, whenever - might as well bring her back.
As for casting, yeah there are likely better choices in regards to a couple physical attributes, but I think Theron could pull off Emma's personality well.
>>92395069
>Like how they forgot Charles died in X3 but came back
My only gripe with that is how they didn't explain how he retained his powers. As far as we know, he put his mind in a regular human.
>how Angel is in the 80s instead of the present like in X3
There was nothing wrong with Angel as he was presented in Apocalypse. He was clearly in the same age group as Storm, Scott and Jean in X-men 3 so it was fine for them to use him is Apoc.
>My point is that the X-Men films seem to do whatever, whenever - might as well bring her back.
Not as much as before. On the whole, I'd say there's a fair amount of consistency in the last 3 movies than the rest of the franchise. I don't think they're gonna go as much fuckall as the last time.
>but I think Theron could pull off Emma's personality well.
Oh yeah, absolutely. She's got the chops for it. Just not the body.
Do you think he put up a fight?

how would you retroactively fix the two thor movies?
how hopeful are you for ragnarok?
>>92393736
The only way you could fix it is by rebooting the franchise with different actors, and maybe not connecting it with the MCU.
Not at all hopeful.
Going back, the first one isn't bad at all. The human stuff was sort of needed to help sell the concepts.
The second one didnt need Jane or any of them though and it seemed like half the movie was about her and Kat Dennings
>>92393736
>how would you retroactively fix the two thor movies?
We don't.
We bring in Hercules and his boytoy Cho as the 'mythological character' replacement instead. While slowly building to Beta Ray Bill.

Can I get a quick rundown?
>>92393193
A boy, Billy, falls in love with a girl, Mandy.
Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she punches his nose then gives him a black eye with her other fist. After some investigation, he finds out that the mean girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the big-nosed idiot's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
Heathcliff distracts the bees.
What's wrong with this show?
>>92393075
It isn't that funny. Overall I think it hasn't developed its own character. It seems to be poorly trying to mimic other Adult Swim shows' humor.
>>92393075
Nothing. It's incredibly self aware of how crude and ridiculous it's plots are and feels more like a parody of other Adult Swim shows most of the time.
Of course some autists just WANT to be triggered by something and there's no stopping that.
>>92393075
The godawful artstyle and that it was just plain retarded. It was just edgy humor that failed to be funny and didn't have any likable or interesting characters/settings. Metalocalypse was edgy, but it did have some fun characters and funny moments, so did Superjail. Mr. Pickles had none of that, it was just gore and edginess all throughout.
Why [as] funded the damn thing and gave it more than one season is probably why that channel block has to suck Seth MacFarlane's/FOX's dick to stay alive.
