Not meaning to make this a hate thread, as I liked SU when it started, but it really does fucking bug me how much the characters cry now.
There's no goddamn impact for """emotional""' scenes anymore because someone literally cries every fucking episode now.
Like seriously, I now make it a game to see when the waterworks come, and I think it's funny. This is not how putting emotion into a show works. In order for there to be an impact, they need to not be crying 24/7. Otherwise it just looks like a bunch of crybaby pussies instead of well rounded characters going through a hard time.

I've been reading on the Internet that people consider the mid to late 2000s and early 2010s (2007-2012) to be a bad time for cartoons. Why do people say that? They had great shows at this time like Catscratch, The X's, El Tigre, Mighty B!, Wayside, Making Fiends, TUFF Puppy, Planet Sheen Robot and Monster etc. I'm honestly really confused. It also offends me because that time was in my childhood. Would people prefer Nick today? They don't have nearly as much variety of excitement as they used to, would you guys rather watch Breadwinners or Bunsen Is A Beast? If someone would please tell me what made the mid to late 2000s bad, I would greatly appreciate it.

To be honest, I never understood this "voice actors are LITERALLY the characters!" attitude that cartoon fandoms cluck to. They're just reading off a script that someone else wrote. They may or may not actually share personality traits with the characters, and any they do is coincidental. The designers and writers are the ones actually expressing themselves. Yet for some reason, there are people who think talking to a voice actor is like actually talking to one of their favorite cartoon characters.
