IT HAPPENED AND IT WAS FUCKING SHIT
Tell me the story of how Image and Deathmate nearly destroyed the north american comics industry.
I am genuinely curious to hear the whole tale
>>93046112
Oh god I'm reciting this from memory so if I get things wrong please correct me.
Some people say that Deathmate didn't do it by itself, but it was a long time coming and it just so happened to be the perfect storm of everything wrong in the 90's. Image right now is living high on it's Indie cred but back in the day to call them terrible publishers is not far off. They had some classics but that was like the Maxx and even Sam Keith left eventually. Valiant was going through it's woes after Jim Shooter was ousted but they still had an amazing work ethic.
Still they somehow decided to have a crossover! Where Valiant would make three issues and Image would make the other three. Valiant was on time with there issues. Image was so god damn late it took a year to get the one issue out of Rob Liefeld.
>>93046332
Rob's issue was the one that mucked things up the most, Bob Layton had to got to Rob's house and get his to finish the damn issue. See back than and even today comic ordering was based on pre-orders. These books were also expensive, they were 4.95! Comic shops ended loosing so much money many closed down and this was also when Rob's super stardom was going down the drain. So even if you don't close you still had unsold copies of Deathmate Red.
>>93046409
It was one of the many factors that made the speculator market go away realizing that none of these comics would pay for their college. There was also all the other things too like the Marvel Bankruptcy and Diamond distribution creating the monopoly but Deathmate did kill the market. Year's Later Eric Stephenson the writer of Deathmate Red now the head Editor at Image would make a plea that Image comics with it's focus on creators would save the industry and you don't need the big two to survive if your a retailer. BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHA! Fuck Image, I like many of their books but man they are so up their own ass and I hate how anytime they get mentioned it acts like there the first publisher who focused on creator own comics or forget to mention how many early image books were terrible.
Venom was right, you know...
Isn't Spidey's no kill rule kinda loose?
>>93046146
Not as loose as his anus, so no not at all
>>93046146
Depends on writer. He was very willing to kill when his identity was public. He's openly been willing to kill Norman Osborn in the past.
Thoughts on Sing?
Meh...

Looked like cringy garbage. I hate musicals so I probably won't ever watch it
Why did FemLoki work so well but FemThor didn't?
>>93045698
FemLoki was sexy yet creepy. She was also the real Loki. Whor is a fake Thor who's real identity is cancer.
>>93045698
Whor is a success though. Atleast she was until recently but all Marvel is taking the hit.
But as for why you like it better.
FemLoki was just Loki in Sif's body because God fuckery. Not a replacement. There was no crowing about how progressive it was that Loki was now a woman, as far as I know. Nor was there a character acting grossly out of character to ride Loki's no longer existent dick about striking a blow for womyn kind against those goddess damn Misogynerds.
Also tits.
>>93045771
I especially liked that issue where he/she went back in time and killed the frost giant and pretty much set his previous self's future in stone. That was a great read but yeah, I loved how creepy and sinister FemLoki was.
What do you think of this Channel /co/?
Do you like the aesthetic style?
Do you like the subject matter?
Whoops. I forgot the link:

Their content is consistently high quality and fairly well polished. Very few misses. The only one I can think of that was a bad video was probably their conspiracy theory one. Not only was it short and practically contentless, but I take issues with the use of logical fallacies and a general blase attitude when most of their other videos are so well thought out and articulated.
Everything else is a pleasure to watch.

Lionel and Lex were also great.
It's a shame it didn't quite live up to what it could have been.

How is anybody going to be a legitimate threat to the DCEU Justice League and where can they even go after they deal with people from fucking Apokolips?
Wow, you're right. In the 50+ year history of the JLA nobody has ever come up with a legitimate threat to them. Every issue is them solving a problem in the first two pages and then spending the other 20 to 46 pages eating schwarma.
One of the plot points is that the team is being formed because Superman is not around anymore, because he's actually so powerful he could do their job alone.
I really don't know how they'll even justify Superman on the team.
>>93043015
>and where can they even go after they deal with people from fucking Apokolips?
Really shouldn't be facilitating /tv/, but to answer the obvious of course most of Bruce's more bareminimum rogues are more or less shot now. Then again WB probably figures Nolan's already covered the basics anyway so they could go forward with the more powerful and unconventional ones that would take his current level of tech and ferocity to deal with. Chiefly I speak of Manbat and Clayface, everyone else I'm not sure how they'd stand up to the level of force and resource he's displayed to take on Superman.
Saying all that for the rest I figure they'll just step up their threat. Lex especially has already shown he can do quite a bit. So having him finance, supply and organize things from prison would be a good way to tie things together and show why he remains a threat out or behind bars. Also to rival the formation of the League it would give a sort of Legion of Doom air to things without having to literally make one. Everyone would just owe Lex and so when he breaks out and demands their obedience to hurt Batman and Superman they're already in or don't really have a choice since he can just turn their stuff off and turn them in.
You're welcome.
>>93042925
The sun doesn't work that way
Why was his family so fucked up?
These movies are getting pretty stale.
They're focus tested made by committee garbage specifically manufactured to appeal to as many normies as possible. The hardcore fans will never admit fault in these movies because they rationalize their weaknesses as "well at least we're not DC!".
Doctor Strange was a slap in the face to anyone who has picked up a Strange comic. Guardians 2, while having a bit of originality thanks to James Gunn ultimately succumbed to executive mandates and studio formula.
>>93042593
GOTG2 was really good, Dr strange was also entertaining
i dont about stale, but i can see myself watching all the way up to infinity war
Can't wait for the fad to die so Marlel can suck a giant dick.
Who would win?
Would they work well together?
They are both smartasses so do you think they would get along?
>>93042172
Is constantine actually powerful as a magician?
>>93042183
as far as I'm aware, I believe so. I mean it could just be another book he found, hell I bet Batman could too
>>93042183
He's not.
Since the New 52 they've been pushing him as powerful for some stupid reason but even there he's not that good.
Dr. Strange is the greatest sorcerer in the Marvel U. His DC equivalent would be Dr. Fate, not Constantine.
