And I can't agree on Homecoming's placement only because I haven't seen it yet. Though I will say that it's interested me enough that I'm actually going to the theater for it, which hasn't happened for me (as far as Spider-Man movies go) since SM2.

Eh, it's the latter. Spawn was just kind of the middle child of 90s antiheroes. He never reached the edginess of the Punisher but his human aspect wasn't nearly as interesting as, say, 90s Batman. He was a good guest character in Soul Caliber 2, though.

It was great but eventually the series just turned into Spawn defeating God/Satan and then IT WASNT THEM or some bullshit and Spawn had to defeat like real-god and super satan and it just kept going up and repetitive. I dropped it around issue 170 because I just couldnt take the bullshit anymore.

>Legacy is a rush-job. They can’t afford to take the classic characters off the table like that for so long but they also don’t want to piss off the new diverse audience they’ve been trying to court. They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too, and please all masters. It’s a scattershot way to buy time while they right the course on several books. It’s not going to be about “new number 1s” but milestone 500, 600, 800 issues. A lot of these big volume numbers are really stretching the definition but the constant relaunches have started to seriously damage the trade department’s ability to plan out long-term marketing.

Champions becomes the Ultimates.
