It's John K with nobody telling him "no"
People actually gave money to John to make a cartoon about George Liquor. They should've did their research on John's history with meeting deadlines.
Hey. let's tell terrible stories about this guy!
If you woke up with his powers, what would you do? Be honest

But there's a lot of evidence.

>For Batman: White Knight, writer-illustrator Sean Murphy (The Wake, Punk Rock Jesus) created a version of Gotham with real, modern-day problems, and then let Batman solve them by making him the villain. How? In the comic mini-series' alternate-reality, it's the Joker—cured of his insanity—who sees that Bruce Wayne is just another part of the city's vicious cycle of crime and sets out to stop him.
>"My main goal was to undo the comic tropes while changing Gotham from a comic book city into a real city—a city dealing with everything from Black Lives Matter to the growing wage gap," Murphy says. "[But] rather than write a comic about the wage gap, I gave those ideas to the Joker, who leads a kind of media war against Gotham's elite by winning people over with his potent observations and rhetoric."
>Despite the fact that their roles are reversed, having heroes and villains who exist as a response to the current political climate is very much on-brand for Batman. For nearly eight decades the Joker and Dark Knight have faced off in the comics and onscreen, and each time, whether they're brooding or cartoonish, they've come to represent the kind of good or bad guys their audience needs. In the 1940s, when the Joker was introduced in Batman #1, the idea of having a masked vigilante face-punching foes seemed like a good way to fight crime. But in the decades since, society has learned that's not always the best course of action. "It's sexy to think crime can be stopped with a fist, but the real solution is a lot more boring than that: education, increasing wages, and building trust," Murphy says. "The line Batman rides between 'noble vigilante' and 'overzealous oppressor' will always be shifting as our own society changes."
But I thought Marvel was the one pushing pointless diversity comics?

None, and Michelle can go fuck herself
>As Homecoming wraps up, Zendaya’s character Michelle drops a bombshell: Her friends call her “MJ,” she says! Of course, this comes after months of rumors and reports that the actress was playing the MCU version of Spider-Man’s iconic love interest MJ, a.k.a. Mary Jane Watson. So was the Internet right about Michelle’s true identity? In a word, nope.
>Marvel Studios boss and Homecoming producer Kevin Feige recently told IGN’s Jim Vejvoda the following: “We never even looked at it as a big reveal necessarily but more of just a fun homage to his past adventures and his past love. She's not Mary-Jane Watson. She never was Mary-Jane Watson. She was always this new high school character, Michelle, who we know there's an ‘M’ in Michelle and an ‘M’ in Mary. [laughs] So we're so clever and we thought, ‘Wouldn't it be neat if her initials were MJ?’ … Is she going to date Peter? Are they going to fall in love? She seems to be intrigued with him. There's a nice chemistry there. Who knows what will happen in the future films?”
>The Amazing Spiderman movies shyed away from the source marital and tried to pander to multiple audiences
>Got criticized greatly
>Spiderman Homecoming did the exact same thing
>everyone loves it
What changed?
the Raimi films are not the source material
>everyone loves it
You mean rotten tomatoes? The same ones that gave wonder woman a 92/91 score?Because /co/ and /tv/ are not "loving it"

Because the ASM movies are bad as actual movies.
Criticism over accuracy to the source material and criticism of the actual film quality are two separate discussions.
What is the appeal of this character? What demographic do they realistically expect to reach?
My dick.
That's the demographic.
>>93721327
But she's flat as fuck.
Some people pretend to like her otherwise it'd be racist. The others like her for the fap material.
Why is Cyborg so pushed when it comes to the Justice League? If they needed a black guy associated with high end technology, why couldn't they go with Steel?
Because he's a simultaneous ripoff of Superman and Iron Man
Cyborg is more his own thing
>>93720576
Steel is fucking ugly as fuck.
No offense, But he is just ugly. His body and cape doesn't belong together.
>>93720576
They are both good characters. I feel as if Cyborg being on anything other than the Titans is a bit of nostalgia and 'NoT mUh CyBoRg' coming through. I feel as the placement had to do with including a black character, which, is whatever, as opposed to a character who 'graduated' to the team. I actually would have preferred Vixen as one of the founding members if they were going for diversity; but they needed someone who was black AND who could teleport.

Theseus>Heracles
How would you fix the show?
Assuming no behind-the-scenes problems, etc.
Only thing I took issue with was the ending. There were lots of great things about it, some mediocre things, some bad things. I think they just needed a little more space and time, really. I wish they'd rounded out the character development for the secondary characters
>>93718086
It would be nice if you were a little more specific instead of going "muh ending, muh character development". What were the good and bad things about it?
Also, I'm not really sure how much more decent material they could have come up with. I have a feeling a hypothetical season 3 would have ruined the show.
>>93718060
That whole end fight scene between the Mech and the main antagonist was just anti-climatic. There was honestly nothing at risk because you knew the protagonists were going to succeed.
Plus, bringing Stan back within the minute of erasing his memory was pretty lame in itself. They effectively castrated any sense of emotion that scene held. It's been a while so if there are any other faults with the ending that I noticed then I'm just not remembering them.

>What is this?
To commemorate 10 years since Danny Phantom ended, we're celebrating by watching all 53 episodes of the show, one episode every week for each week in 2017.
>What's happening in this topic?
Once a week(usually), every Friday, there will be a general created for discussing that week's episode in particular, along with a link to said episode.
>What's the point of this?
It's just a fun little activity to do throughout 2017 to make the year a bit more interesting, nothing more.
>Why Danny Phantom?
I haven't watched the show in years, and when I did, I never saw all the episodes. Plus, there's 53 episodes, so counting the two-parters it roughly works out pretty well.
>This is stupid
It's very possible that's the case, if it is, please feel free to voice your grievances about it here. If enough people hate this, I won't do it, no hard feelings.
>I want to get into this, is it too late to join in?
It's Never Too Late for Now. Feel free to use the previous threads for links to episodes and watch at your own pace. At only one episode a week, it should be easy to catch up to where the marathon currently is. First thread can be found here: http://desuarchive.org/co/thread/88957503/
IMPORTANT:
Is this a terrible idea? Have better suggestions for a layout for this topic? Know how to do it better and want to be in charge of making these topics instead? Want to berate me for making this stupid thing in the first place? Other? Please address these within this topic.

I know I've been pretty inconsistent with these times, which I deeply apologize for, so until someone helps me figure out how to set up a stream, from here on out, new threads will be posted at 9:00AM PST/12:00PM EST Fridays.(or at least close to that time)

What does /co/ think of Homestuck?
I read it last year during lunch time and actually enjoyed it.
Homestuck was a mistake.
Homestuck was ambitious. It was stylish. It went off the rails. First in a good way. Then in a very very bad way. It went in directions that turned off loyal Hussie fans and pandered to a strange and awful influx of 16 year old shippers and cosplayers. It jerked around readers with its hiatus-ridden update schedule and waylayed side-projects. It completely lost control, and though it dipped its head deep into the feedback of tumblrkin (not just throwing around the buzzword; it was huge in tumblr long before tumblr was huge), it never lost its charm. It was, after all, a concept built on the concept of fan input. What was it to when the fans became... awful?
It was a webcomic. Take it for all and all, I shall never see its like again.
>>93541606
It starts great, then turns to shit as character arcs are stretched out, plot points are dropped, the story starts feeling bloated and slow, and the tone and writing take drastic shifts for the worse.
Hussie went in over his head, and it really shows by the last few acts. Problem Sleuth was better.
