Doom rulling over earth only works on elseworlds (where anything goes), and even those got fucked during the universal erasure plot.

Doom CAN rule the world, but a world he rules will never be sustainable past his own will to power because he doesn't have priorities that underlay a world anyone would want to live in.

He could absolutely turn the Earth into a factory for spaceships to go out an conquer the universe to make more spaceships to conquer other universes, but he wants to make a world that will love and accept him and because of that he cannot create either.

He can do anything except force people to love him and therefore will ultimately fail because it's the only thing beyond his grasp. The only person who ever loved him was his mother and he tricked her into hating him so that her soul could be released from Hell.

Aaron's biggest problem, and someone said it on /co and it made sense once I read it--

Jane is the least interesting character in her own book. Sometimes she's downright annoying.

The book itself really isn't that bad if you imagine that you don't know anything about Thor or the Thor universe. Some plot points got way way over-extending. Too much time spent on minotaur guy and planting seeds for this world tree war when a lot of could be more simply explained. Shiar Asgard war was fun but seemed to distract the book.

But it had some fun beats and fights. Aaron just needs to be focused. His first books were excellent cause they were about 1 thing. Now he's trying to do too many things at once plus Jane is not cool.

There's also time travel stories but that's usually part of the ones you already listed.

Wally's shit was pretty frequently very different but that's because he had forward thinking writers writing him and he's a character with a very malleable and interesting premise.

She had an upbringing full of alienation and neglect from her peers and parents and so she doesn't know how to express her feelings outside of wry asides and sarcastic remarks. She gets uncomfortable in social situations, so she erects a wall of off-kilter behaviour and coldness to make herself feel less awkward and to push people away. By the end of the film, she truly feels at peace with her friend in the Academic Decathlon team and starts stripping away the self-defensive layers she had kept up all movie.
