>try to fry rice in a skillet with eggs
>hard and crunchy
is it supposed to be like this?
There are people on earth who dont even know how to cook rice on any level
>rice has to literally simmer in water for 10-20 minutes to be edible
>i'll just fry it in olive oil, that'll work fine
>people are actually taking the bait
Shouldn't be surprised given the state of the board
Here's my favorite fried rice recipe
4 tbsp butter
2 cups rice
1/4 - 1/2 cup chopped onion
4 cups chicken broth
2-3 diced carrots
2 cups frozen peas
Heat oven to 425. Melt butter in a skillet. Add rice and cook, stirring constantly until rice is golden. Remove to 2qt baking dish. In the same pan scramble eggs and add to rice. Sautee onions until soft and clear then add to rice. Add carrots. Stir in chicken broth. Mix well and bake for 20 - 25 minutes. When removed from the oven stir in peas and sit for 5 minutes.
Tip: If your skillet is large enough and oven proof you can cook it all in one pan
Good luck with the rest of your life, brah.
yes. i made a decent omlette today by preheating the pan at medium then pouring 3 eggs mixed with a bit of milk into the pan covered in a bit of olive oil so it wouldn't stick. i instantly dropped the heat to low and then made cereal and it had a nice orange translucency to it. i'm having sweats and i'm dizzy but man was it tasty.
but i thought the oil would cook the rice. how would i fill a skillet with water?
You don't fill the skillet with water, you dingus. You boil water in a pot, put the rice in and let it cook. After that, you drain it and let it cool.
Christ, didn't imagine I'd ever need to teach someone how to cook rice.
You can always tell those people who literally never had to take care of themselves or any aspect of their life. Can't cook, doesn't know about doing laundry, survives by parent's funds despite supposedly being an adult.
