Hi cu/ck/s, time for a cook-a-long, did one last week and it went pretty well, a chicken stir-fry.
Today I'm making chimichangas or w/e they're called, it's pretty much chef johns recipe with a few changes, lets see how I do
Here are the ingredientes barring spices and stuff
>>7340782
Lets start by sautéing the mushrooms
>>7340786
all the chopping and slicing, also some of the pics ahead will be blurry, blame my phone
>>7340797
the mushrooms seem about ready.
Also note this was a way of getting rid of a few things I had at home, there was lots of other stuff I could've put in it but didnt feel like going to the supermarket
>>7340805
time for the chicken
>>7340826
onions bell pepper and garlic
>>7340797
>sweet corn
>here is the ingredient that will make my food taste good
and there is the trigger
>>7340834
and here's the sweet corn, I know it's pleb as fuck but we arent a corn producing country, this is what we get, also the sweetness works well with the chilly powder that I seasoned the chicken with
>>7340837
mushrooms and chicken back in the pan
>>7340840
squeeze of lime
>>7340857
a bit of tomato puree
>>7340860
splash rice vinegar
>>7340867
chopped some cilantro
>>7340870
filling is ready
>>7340878
warming the flour tortillas a bit so they become more pliable
>>7340885
let the filling begin
>>7340890
all done, got 6
>>7340910
heating the oil, going to shallow fry them for like 30 seconds a side so they get nice and crispy
NO CHEESE!?
>>7340915
forgot pic
>>7340926
thought I had it at home but didnt, kinda why I put the tomato so it wasnt dry without the cheese
>>7340910
Corn + mushrooms are a nice combo always. Though it would be nicer if it were frozen vs canned.
>>7340931
here it goes, hope it doesnt open
>>7340936
some nice colour, look yummy
>>7340954
all done, lets eat
>>7340961
lets have one with this cheap ass beer
>>7340964
cmon OP where's the money shot?
>>7340971
here it is, they were nice, shoud've not been lazy and went to the supermarket to get some spicy peppers, and should have cheese, other than that tastes great, was a success i'd say
