Last time I ate at McDonald's was during the Small Soldiers movie $1 triple cheeseburger promo. That was 1998, and I didn't get fries, so the last time I had McDonald's fries was close to 20 years ago.

We have a local fast food chain that the population is insanely loyal to for some reason because it started out here... also, McDonald's don't offer cutlery since that's retarded, but everyone here eats burgers, pizzas etc with cutlery (we have a thing about touching food with our hands I guess...). The local joint, being local, of course offers cutlery as standard for this reason.

Sweden, Northern Sweden specifically. In the south they don't do this.

What you have to understand is that burgers didn't show up here until the early 60s, pizza as late as late 70s/early 80s... also, since it's a largely rural area "manners" is a big thing, not touching shit with your hands is a big part of that (literally the only food item you're explicitly allowed to eat with your hands are drumsticks). I think the reason is that people don't consider burgers as a type of sandwich here.
