i just burned my hand cooking in the most incredibly stupid way
there's a locking mechanism on mt pressure pot that engages when it reaches a certain pressure so you can't open it
i pushed it down (with my sleeve covering my hand to protect it) FOR NO REASON AT ALL
it did not protect it
don't feel bad, one time i forgot i just turned off the glasstop range and put my hand on it for about 5 seconds before realizing it was still hot as fuck

Don't feel bad, once I ordered a coke and it turned out to be a pepsi haha

it's easy to do dumb things, just be more careful next time, that's all. Burns heal
>>7315207
That's what you get for tampering with pressure equipment safety mechanisms. Treat it with respect.

Soak it in ice water for a few minutes, then put some dermoplast or aloe or whatever you have on it, it'll help a little at least
Could try taking a tylenol or aspirin too
>>7315307
Not ice water, that can cause more damage. Run it under cool tap water.

yeah.. i was a very stupid thing to do, i know

Listen to this guy. Not to the guy he was correcting.
And you know a burn isn't too bad if it hurts. When the nerves are killed, that's when you've really got something to worry about.

>or aspirin
I once pulled my cast iron pan out the oven with a tea towel folded over and somehow burnt this tiny part in between my thumb and index... Still don't know how I did it since nowhere else was burnt

No homo, put some vanilla extract on it.
My wife told me to do that one time when i burned the fuck out of my leg. I didn't believe her, but I got to be supportive. Holy shit it worked so well.
Don't know how it will work after waiting so long since burning your hand, but put some on a paper towel and hold it on the burn. Worst you can do is make your hand smell amazing.
op here
anon was all so supportive and not mean at trolly at all
love u, anon
my hand feels much better now. i didn't shock it with cold i just ran it under cool water and soaked it when i could
so stupid messing with the pressure cooker though.. never again
