As >>7310118 said epicurious tends to be solid. For the ck archive there's the booru.

"fml" threads are nice if you want to follow faggot anons cook step by step good and usually simple dishes.

half the time when a thread is made about things like chicken stock, paneer, ignored cuts of meat, "I accidentally found 90 chicken thighs in the trash wat do", etc. you'll get nice recipes and tips.

this board is
50% shitposters
30% people that are unremarkable and fill up thread space
20% people that can actually cook and will post recipes/cookalongs/make suggestions

https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Table_of_Contents
is useful for a draconian understanding of what a dish is

good websites will usually pop up in threads, I'm just not sure what to recommend for you.

Enjoy your stay. This place is a shit and everyone here knows it and doesn't do anything about it

Why isn't there a "cooking basics" website? It seems like something a lot of people are looking for. The closest things I could find are mostly blogs and columns like this http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/jan/13/learn-cooking-skills-henry-dimbleby
>>

http://startcooking.com/

This site seems to have a decent range of basic techniques, tips, and recipes.
