what does /ck/ use to boil water?
>pic related by muji but not sure if it's worth $95
i have the worlds shittiest grimiest whistling kettle with a melty handle that leaks
i bought it for far too much money at a crap "thrift store" because before that i just used a pot
i'm not even poor

do you want your water to taste like shit?
I use a pyrex measuring cup and the microwave.
I use this. Hamilton beach kettle. Boils fast and has a ring of blue LEDs around the base so it has a nice blue glow. About $30 on Amazon

the water tastes fine.. it's just a steel pot
I got this breville one as a gift. Works great, boils fast, and looks good on the countertop
Warning: microwaving water makes it acidic and therefore carcinogenic. Just try adding some baking powder to recently microwaved water, it bubbles because of the way the water has been transformed into an acid (this effect reverses as the water cools)

ive got the same kettle its the fastest and coolest looking one i have owned.
the pour sput could be better but overall its well worth the 29$ i paid (target)
I want a quooker (dot com), boiling water tap. Nice and easy, safe too, if you're not retarded

Enjoy your legionella.
I use a metal pot placed on the stovetop.

warning: some people are retarded
ever heard of super heated water?
it will do the same thing if you add sugar or cocoa mix
>this effect reverses as the water cools
thats because it isnt super heated anymore
Pick related. Fast and reliable after 5 years of daily use (and abuse during canning season).

if you have an electric stove this is not very fast.
gas i could see working pretty fast but a kettle is pretty fast as long as its not full

Here's mine. I like it.
I can't remember why I chose it over other products. My guess is that Amazon had fewer options at the time, and this was the only stainless steel. I just did a search and it looks like they have pretty much anything you could want at any price point.
I use this.
Useful if you enjoy different teas. Been using it for a few years. Works like new.

the only true way
>>7304609
Seconded. I love mine. I make ramen in my room because I'm to lazy to walk to the kitchen at 3am
>>7304746
oh wow... pretty good for teas
I got this one about half a year ago. The adjustable temperature seems to work and it's pretty quick, just a couple minutes to heat up 2 liters. Plus it's really cheap from what I remember.

I put the water in a fucking pot, turn on the heat and enjoy shitposters like you until it boils.
>>7304562
i went to muji to browse and they were selling humidifiers for $200. albeit they were aesthetic as fuck. but still.
I use this.
I love it.
>>7304986
I don't think it's shitposting to ask for recs for cooking equipment on /ck/. The threads are seldom enough that it doesn't shit up the board like rec threads on /a/ do.
That said, I'm too poor to afford an electric kettle right now anyway so I just use a pot on the stove. It's got a spout on the end too so I never have any issues.

It's all in your head.
>>7305050
Nope.
>>7304562
I got a $40 Black and Decker kettle like 6 years ago. It has variable temperatures and a keep warm setting for anything between 150-212.
>>7304746
Whoa, neat. I've never seen a kettle with temperature controls.
>>7307016
me too! I love that stupid fucking thing.
>>7307016
My only complaint is that the kettle isn't thermal lined.
I'd rather have less capacity or a larger kettle for that.
