What's your favorite kind of olive oil?
>don't know if pic related is any good I just love the bottle design

Extra virgin, just like OP.
bertoli

California Olive Ranch

I've tried this brand, they're the best at their price point, but I'm sure you can find a better one. I also like Trader Joe's Spanish EVOO at the same price point.
Colavita. It works for me.

This. Way better than much more expensive oil, very good price/quality. As a rule of thumb, if it is stocked at major grocery stores and have the word Italian on it, it is probably not what it is labeled as no matter how expensive it is.
Another rule of thumb is, if the bottle is clear, it is not good quality oil as light causes photo oxidation and if they don't worry about that, it is very unlikely that they have anything worth protecting in that bottle.
>>7301922
That makes literally no sense in the context of olive oil
I've been trying a lot of different oils, sad to say that I haven't found a distinct favorite yet
My current go to is pic related. It's alright but doesn't knock my socks off
I guess i'm just looking for something with a bit more flavor. I don't like the neutral, nothing taste that some olive oils give out

>TUNISIAN
>Passover
>>7301917
That's the olio I buy, but I buy I buy it in the big tin.
Spanish olive oil is best bang for the buck, IMO.

Completely different use cases.
>>7304418
Rapeseed is better as salad dressing and for cooking
The cheapest I can find.
>>7304423
>use rapeseed oil they said
>a fine nutty taste they said
bleeargh, who the fuck came up with this shit?
>>7301922
Pwned
>>7304423
"for cooking"
if you are really into trans fats
kirkland signature tuscano is better than other oils many times the price
>>7302081
FACT: Anyone who claims to like TJ's anything is basically admitting to have broken taste buds
Enjoy your gutter oil with green dye

Thusly. The mafia runs the olive oil export industry in Italy. They take the cheapest, most oxidized crap they can't sell in Europe, slap an "Extra Virgin" label on it and ship it over here.
>>7302004
am pleb, just learned how to distinguish real olive oil from the fakers and this is what i got. it's a definite step up
Olive oil is probably the longest running meme in history besides religion.
It tastes like complete and utter garbage with an extreme overpowering taste..
Fuck Olive oil
>>7301917
No brand, I just get enough of it every year from my family in Tuscany.
>>7305856
Publix regularly have that as bogo so it is actually comes to way cheaper than crappy generic italian "olive" oil brands. On the other hand you will be supporting dirty hippies in California so it's your call.
I buy this brand because it's Australian and I am too which means I can be pretty sure it's actually olive oil.
Does anyone know how smoked olive oil tastes? Any significant difference?
