ITT we discuss foods from video games, movies, tv shows, and books. Things you've always wanted to try, things you have tried, or foods that are just interesting
For some crazy reason the chili dogs in sonic always seemed really appealing
I actually had my first "jelly donut" a long time ago thinking it would be sweet (filled with one of those pickled plums or something) but there was only meat in there. Did not think there were a variety of flavors/fillings for it back then.
I'll never eat a Kanker Burger through a straw
Is there a cartoon that is well animated and is about food?
The first time I ate a real, big bowl of ramen I nearly cried giant weeb tears. It was tonktasu ramen, with the egg and onions and nori and everything. It was beautiful.
Actually, there's been a ton of times where I got really hungry watching anime because the food just looks so good. I've made a few dishes so far (curry, onigiri, cute bento). I'd like to try omurice or some kind of hot pot next.
>live in assfuck nowhere, new england
>friend knows an Asian supermarket with a ramen place that is an hour away
>really want to go, put money aside, get hyped
>weeks later, decide for ONE day that I'll go to the beach with some old friends
>get home, 5 missed calls
>"yo call me back immediately, not waiting for you"(actually what he said)
>missed opportunity, both unemployed, will not get that chance for a long time
Fuck ramen and fuck my stupid friend. I still want to bust his ass for it but he's a fucking autist so if I ask wtf brah he'll just act like I'm the asshole
The pizza from the 1987 TMNT animated series.
Idk why but the way it looked, it was soooo cheesy and (I don't think) there was ever any sauce on the pizza.
I think I imagined it tasting like some combination of pure swiss and gouda. It made me salivate as a kid.
all the food from muramasa
> Went to Japan last year
> Went to a Maid Cafe
> Got an omelette exactly like that, with my name written in ketchup and everything.
Holy fuck it was god damn delicious. I don't even know how, since I know there's no real "cooks" in those gimmick cafes like that and all the food was just frozen + microwaved. But it was literally the best egg dish I've ever eaten.
Persona 4 Aiya Mega Beef Bowl Challenge
I made it and it was beautiful
I've always wanted to eat one of these.
>inb4 someone posts the video of the rich assburgers kid trying to make one
The Land Before Time made green food (trees) look fucking delicious as a kid. To this day I pretend when I eat broccoli that I'm a dinosaur eating some motherfucking green food.
Also Little Bear made honey sandwiches and fish stew sound pretty appealing too.
>mfw I have that recipe book
Applesnow is pretty fucking good, actually. I make it with ida reds.
I'd pretty well eat anything that any one of Ash Ketchums cooling travelling buddies would make (Brock, Tracey, Cilan, Iris even though she only gathered fruit, etc.) I wanna know what's up with their food.
And I'd try pokefood for the hell of it too.
brewfest was always my favorite wow holiday event.
i made me want beer so bad. but under-aged and mormon. :(
Don't forget to soak it in sea water, since they're underwater and all.
That ain't no beef bowl
You gotta use the cheapest, shittiest beef, cut paper thin, and blanch it before frying.
This dren right here. With some fellip nectar or raslak
>he set her on fire.
>All that remains is a concrete slab.
So they somehow thought it was in good taste to nickname her that on her headstone, directly referencing how she died.
Runner up names probably included
"Ashes to ashes, literally"
"Our sweet little charred burnt Cheeto at the bottom of the bag that nobody wanted"
Any of the feast foods in the Redwall book series.
Those rodents could EAT.
Cant find a good pic, but Heather Mason eating Burgers and Fries
Man archie comics would always make me so fucking hungry with the shit jughead used to eat
http://www.cornel1801.com/disney/Fun-Fancy-Free-1947/film5.html starts at 7:07
my favourite gimmick in cartoons.
would die eating that buffet
Hesperus is Phosphorus
I imagine hasperat is like a hummus wrap with baby spinach and peppers, but with some crazy Bajoran ingredient that makes it spicy like they always talk about. I think the spice is in the nose, similar to horseradish or wasabi, and not "hot" like a habanero.
Dude mang that looks awesome
Catstlevania Harmony of Despair had such cute foods, even if it was like, tiny sprites. I had to look up what a quiche and ganache were because I'm an uncultured fuck and I saw them there and needed to know.
>get all the Ace Attorney games at once
>start making more hamburgers
>get up to the third game
>Godot making coffee look good
>drink way more than I ever have
>get up to AJ
>stop it all because that game was terrible
later AAI came out and it didn't have any influence. Now I only make coffee once a week. It's okay.
i would eat the hell out of everything in the antique bakery anime and live action
sweet jebus yes. candied chestnuts.
everything in this scene and the food the parents are eating when they turn in to pigs.
Toriko is the only one that comes close but it's anime and way over the top. The measurements they use in that show will make you rage if you have autism or laugh if you have a sense of humor.
I dunno what show you're talking about but in Dutch, kanker means cancer, and it's used like fucking as in "those fucking kids". Burger means citizen, so kankerburger means fucking bourgeois (sort of).
Tom and Jerry
>The episode where the cowboy dude offers Tom some turkey, mash and gravy
>When Jerry goes to town inside the fridge or on the dinner table
Ed Edd n Eddy. Who the fuck watches Dutch cartoons. Kanker is a mispelling of Canker which is the name of the ulcers you get in your mouth. The characters are a constant annoyance to the main characters, hence the name.
For anyone who likes Bob's Burgers
>tfw you will never try cartoon pizza
I've always wanted to try whatever the hell rafiki is eating in this scene
gin no sagi, animal husbandry, but it all comes back down to food and farming.
moyasimon, anime about microbes, links often to food.
Food manga is more diverse. I tend to read a lot of it.
That they seemed appealing? No, I'm not sure I've ever had a chili dog before so I can't be disappointed. But if I ever get the chance, my expectations will be pretty high.
also pic related looks amazing
No, that's from the bath house workers under the food holding their hands out in hopes of receiving a gold tip from noface
provel does a pretty good job, though it's technically a processed blend of cheddar, provolone and swiss. but if you're looking to have a cartoon experience...
>not wanting to eat giant monsters and their byproducts
>tfw you will never make desserts out of a marshmallow pumpkin
Can't find a picture of them, but the pizza and homemade fudge from Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School made me so fucking hungry. I know the ingredients(spiderwebs, swampwater, mold) would have made me sick but it just looked so good.
that and the pizza from All Dogs Go to Heaven. Why does cartoon pizza look so good?
Oh, and I want a fucking Krabby Patty like the one in the KK Training Video episode. Hell, I'd even eat the Nasty Patty.
What does a health potion taste like?
What the fuck is wrong with that child? I seriously hope he is autistic or retarded or something. If I find out he is a normal fully functioning human being, and that he just talks like that all the time, I will fucking kill myself.
Don't even get me started on his "cooking skills".
>roll beef into balls
>put in frying pan
>is Krabby Patty now
everything about this made me mad.
>that part in Zombie Island when they chow down on them shrimp gumbo
I want to try Shinji's lunches almost as much as I want to rape him.
I know it's just a burger, but every fucking time
>tfw can't find any Kodoku no Gourmet translations
this whole movie fffffuuuuuuccck
Here is the dish that was invented in Hamburg.
>The deepfried lobster with the sauce inside
>The boss ass soup with dried seafood
Shit nigga i love me some cooking master boy,
Oh my fucking god, the feasts in those books made me so hungry as a kid. I swear, the author would spend half of every book describing in great detail all of the food and drink and it made me want to devour everything.
>I made a weeb grill those and beat sephiroth in kh1 and she let me do anal. >she cried during, not sure what to make of that. fat but decent for a weeb.
I don't know why but I can't stop laughing at this
The hamburger sandwich and the later new and improved cheeseburger were created in the USA, WhiteCastle claims it was invented in germany but it looked like this >>5840794. It is unknown who, where and when it was truly invented but the burger as we know it was invented in Murica, stay mad faggot.
all cartoon food looks delicious
even pork butts and taters
Damn you, I wanted to put those up so bad.
I do wonder why they don't have more of the exotic dishes in the lists; I've never eaten anything from the Red Dragon, because by the time I've beaten him (not just let him fall off the bridge, actually killed his ass), I've used up way too many resources to bother going on to another dungeon.
I think I hate the Gazer more than the dragon though, because at least there's not a bunch of teleporting involved on the boss's part with our fire-breathing friend. Seriously though, I love the idea of what dragonflesh would taste like, and the harpy egg omelette they show makes my mouth FUCKING WATER every time I see it.
Why the fuck did we have to be born in this shitty-ass world with no awesome fantasy monster food?
I've always wondered what that dinosaur/lizard tail tasted like in DBZ.
The hamburg steak and the hamburger are two different things from hamburg. It's like saying the cumberland sausage isn't from England because some other sausages were made in England first.
I remember growing up with shame and thinking I was a sick fuck for wanting to eat all the barnyard animals in Charlotte's web.
Thanks >>5844466 for that memory
I knew someone would react, haha. Oh man, well I have a different memory but mine is no more or less subject to shame than yours. You wanted to eat all the animals in those animated scenes? I actually wanted to eat all the shit that Templeton ate. All the garbage. The left-over waste shit. That scene made it seem desirable. haha.
Why not try making some? I've never tried but I'm pretty sure both cake and yeast donuts are pretty easy to make aside from having to deep fry them. Also what sort of hell hole do you live in that you can't find a single bakery that makes half decent donuts at least sometimes?
You mean about baking bread and then EXPLODING INTO A NEW GALAXY OF FLAVOUR, TRANSCENDING TIME AND PREVENTING YOUR OWN BIRTH.
It was decent until they spent more time on retarded reactions and Dallas's style dramatic reveals than actual baking.
those are takoyaki, you can buy them at most japanese food stalls
they're yummy as fuck
I fucking hate leveling up my Cooking in Guild Wars 2 because it always makes me so fucking hungry.
Too bad because I like playing my Thief who is also my damn cook.
From Wolf Children.
Can someone tell me exactly what this it?
The first image is Chicken on a Stick/Chicken Kabob cooking on a electric grill.
The second image has Hana dipping it in this delicious looking sauce. This looked so tasty in the film and I always wanted to try making it at home. But I don't know what kind of sauce this is.
Does anyone that knows anything about Japanese cuisine can tell what this is?
Also why are japanese cooking spaces so small? Hana wasn't living in a tiny apartment she was living in a farmhouse.
Just looks like chicken and 3 different colors of bell pepper
Knowing japs the sauce is probably some sort of sweet soy sauce concoction.
Give it a shot, it'd probably only take about 20 minutes to do the whole thing.
Egg on Toast shouldn't look this good, even when the bread is a brick.
