Get out you fucking communist
I'm making a vegetable stock that I'll be turning into soup later today.
Do I salt it during the boiling process? I can't find a trustworthy answer on google. I have been always adding at least a bit of salt but I feel that's a major fuckup.
i don't, but i don't think it's a major fuck up if you do
>>8941632
You can salt it when making the stock, but personally I would advise holding off and salting it later, right before you serve it.
You can always add more salt to a dish but you can't remove it. I avoid salting my stocks because depending on how you are using it later it could easily end up too salty in the finished dish.
Since the time at which you add the salt to a soup or stew has zero effect on the cooking process it makes more sense to leave the salting to the end right before you serve.

Hmm.
-saturated fats are good for you
-trans fats are terrible
-sugary drinks are terrible
There is nothing to argue about here. Saturated fats are an essential part of a healthy diet. The debate stems from the fact that the processed foods sold on the market today are heavily biased towards saturated fats and are severely deficient in the opposite. Like anything, too much of one thing can be detrimental. Saturated fats SHOULD be eaten in moderation for healthy hormone levels.
It's kinda funny really. Instead of explaining these nuances to the general public, the government has concluded that it's easier to just forever label saturated fats as "bad".
https://www.fda.gov/aboutfda/transparency/basics/ucm194310.htm
There is really nothing wrong with trans fats or sugary drinks either. All of this just boils down to the fact that our society is mostly lazy, sedentary, and retarded. Remove these from the equation and the bulk of these diet-based health risks would disappear overnight.

Hi /ck/
I'm currently dealing with a picky eater, found out she pretty much won't try anything she never tried before, I'm not looking to sneak certain items witin her meal so she doesn't notice.
I'm looking to get her to open up her palate to more complex tastes, what have any of you accomplished this?
I have gotten her to try some stuff but I'm looking to go deeper, any recommendations on how to?
Pictures and stories greatly appreciated.

Put the food you normally cook on a plate. Set plate in front of her. Pay no attention to what she says or does. When eveyone has finished remove plate. Say nothing. If she didn't finish it, no snacks, no desserts. Repeat at every meal. In a shirt period of time she will begin to eat what's placed in front of her. I guarantee she will not suffer malnourishment or starve. Then you're on the way to raising an emotionally healthy child instead of an entitled little snowflake.

I have a similar issue with my fiance and onions. She loathes them, but If I blend them into a dish or use onion powder she doesn't even notice and will eat it no problem.
Fucking basic bitches, man.
I love eggs.
I love them plain, I love them with bacon, with vegetables, I love ommelettes and I love soft and hard boiled eggs. I usually buy them from a seller at my local market, so I know they're relatively home grown. Are there any other egg lovers on /ck/? Am I weird for this?
do u like them scrambled? what are some good scrambled eggs recipes?
Loved eggs my whole life, but in the last month or so i get runny shits a few hours I eat them every time. I buy great quality organic eggs and I've never had this problem before so I'm guessing I'm developing an egg intolerance or allergy or something.
Whether I cook them so they are still runny or over cooked a little it still happens, and I'm 100% sure it's the eggs and not anything else in my diet due to a process of elimination
Shit sucks
>>8940881
Maybe you get some sally monella in addition to your eggs as organic bonus m8
Are there any resources for good poorfag food? I need to each cheap things like rice, beans, eggs, potatoes, etc but have no idea what kind of things to make them into or with.

Learn to cook fry rice. All you really need is rice...and you can literally add any spare vegetables or just an egg, some seasoning with salf/sugar. its not great but I'm still alive.

Yeah it's called the grocery store. If you put in some effort there are constantly deals and sales and managers specials. Fortunately I make enough to buy what I feel like, but anyone who has walked around a grocery store enough can see there are deals to be had
I'm about to go to Walmart at 1 AM with $15. What should I buy?

>24
>eat mostly pasta and sandwiches, and i could keep going on for the rest of my life
why did my preferences shrink so much? i remember thinking it was so sad that people could stick to a set of food they liked for the rest of their life, and now i've become one.
>>8940030
Sorry you are a broken person.
I'm 35 and eat all kinds of stuff all the time. Whenever we go out to eat its whatever type of food we haven't had in a while.
Thai, italian, american, pizza, shmancy, cheap eats, mediteranean, mexican, tex mexican, and of course cheesy mexican...
The only type of food I don't get too often is chinese because my wife hates it. I get it on lunch breaks sometimes. I also don't eat fast food too often because its total shit and anyone that eats that crap should be ashamed of themselves.
>>8940030

Are you just really busy and only have time for certain things?
Are you stressed out and you need something familiar and comfortable?
I read an article once about how certain habits that we fall into are stress coping mechanisms.
I used to watch 30 rock over and over and over again. I've probably watched every episode about 20 times. I can quote almost every episode word for word for the funnier scenes...
Maybe you are stressed out and seeking comfort through familiarity.
If you don't like what you are doing, you are the only one that can change it. Start going out and trying new restaurants or something. You can get out of this rut, this is probably one of the easiest things to change in your life. DO IT.
>>8940030
probably because you are american and are predisposed to having shitty food tastes. by the time i was 12 i was having wide variety of foods and even wines on sunday lunches to have with my cheese and saussignon. next time try to be born somewhere in europe.
For me it's the Artisan Chicken Sandwich.
Only at McDonald's(tm).
Why did you put mold on your sandwich?

t. pharm faggot with celiac who is pissed at people claiming "imaginary gluten intolerance" but don't have celiac. Just parrot bullshit they read or hear from a naturopath.
Would you eat a meal at a restaurant that was served to you in a skillet (and on a cutting board no less)? I would tell them to take it back and put it on a plate or I don't want it. It seems embarrassing and childish to eat out of cookware.

Anyone here do keto?
I'm 5 weeks in and it's been wonderful but I'm looking for new foods to eat. I've been living off of omelettes with meat and cheese.
