Chili thread. For those of you who use beans, what type do you like?
I like to use 2 lbs of beef, with 3 cans (those standard 15 oz size) of one each black beans, pinto beans, and red kidney beans, and 2 large jalapenos. Of course there are other things too, but the ratio of these 3 ingredients is the most vital part.
im thinkin about thos beans
>>8953117
I just use one 15oz can of kidney beans for every lb of beef. Not a big fan of black or pinto beans
>>8953117
Sorry for post this, I have observing for a moment, first time. Why is all chili posts making? And beans? Is this presumed to making for humor? If I make post will I response and many smiles?

What do you cu/ck/s think about knorr pasta sides?
They make excellent poorfag casseroles
I like the spinach dip flavor w/diced chicken and the chicken or four cheese flavor with sliced kielbasa
>>8953022
I've tried a couple. Never again truthfully. So much sodium. My mouth is like a desert after eating them even after chugging tons of water. They make me feel like shit.
>>8953022
Worst pasta thing I've ever eaten
I don't have much food around right now, and my Asian wife took the car to work because she's a bitch, so I'm gonna make bean dip for dinner tonight. Working with what I have.
-Canned Pinto beans
-tortilla chips
-cheese
-pepperoni slices, as some form of meat.
Ill post pics later as I progress. Might pair with some liquor.
Any suggestions?

Why do people marry people who are bitches? I don't get it.
Everyone seems to hate their wife/husband and just bitches about them all the time.
Starting
Heating up the pan.
Can you tell me about a frying pan that has done right by you? So many options I don't know what I want. Nonstick and easy to clean is most important.
>>8952832
just make sure it's nice n hot.
I like a tfal. Anti-Warp if you've got a shitty electric range. I'm sure you can buy a better pan but also that you can't buy a better pan at any of the grocery stores I use.
>>8952832
>Nonstick is most important.
>pan that has done right by you
Nonstick pans have never done right by me.
Get yourself a cast iron and learn to season it properly.
I fucking love dominos sandwiches but fuck paying $6 for them. How can I recreate them? Specifically, how would I go about getting the bread like theirs?
Go to walmart and buy flatbread
>>8952795
I dunno, deep fry bread for like 6 hours?
This is my last resort when I want a cheap sandwich at the normal hours that I eat. But I'm an alcoholic, so whatever.
>>8952795
HFCS and soybean oil probably.
guys I'm trying to cook shit like eggs over easy and I am having a hell of a time of it. I obviously need to go buy a spatula.
What else do I need to have in my kitchen? I guess a decent knife, I've got like a pan.
I just wanna make really easy stuff like eggs, friend rice, idk maybe cook bacon or some shit
just get a wok
>chefs knife
>bread knife
>whisk
>metal spatula
>silicone spatula
>wooden spoon
>small saucepan
>large saucepan
>nonstick frying pan
>steel or copper frying pan
>peeler or paring knife
>roasting tray and rack
>thermometer
>tongs
>grater
>sieve
>breadboard
>food processor
That should do for basic crap. Everything except the knives and pans are really cheap.
>>8952697

Please make your selection, /ck/.

Sausage and peppers over bed of BR.

Cabbage you mong
>>8952605
why my cabbage don't look like that
>>8952625
It isn't cabbage
The are mung bean/glass/white/rice, noodles, in thailand and other parts of south east asia they cut the noodles into a square shape. It's also more glutinous and squidgy than regular egg noodles
What is the greatest tasting thing you've ever made?
>>8952570
Made an absolutely baller baklava once but it was crazy time consuming and expensive.
Chicken thighs in a pesto stew and cheesy dumplings
It has a shitload of vegetables, lardons, some wine and sundried tomatoes and tastes so fucking good
I made a homemade crab fettuccini alfredo with fresh crab my dad caught, fontina and parmesian cheese. Fresh, homemade pasta with it too. Pic related
I like activity foods, food that requires you do some small manual task to eat them. Popping out edamame, plucking leafs off artichoke, fishing for items out of the hot pot, stuff like that. What activity foods do you like?
>>8952516
I like undressing hare pie.
>>8952516
god dayum. anywho, pistachios and sunflower seeds.
Artichokes are the GOAT veggie
I love tearing apart crabs and crawdads, searching every nook and cranny for delicious meat. So good.
Is there something I could add to vegetable patties for a bit of chewy texture?
Wheat gluten is fairly popular but I don't want to buy a huge bag of it just for this.
>>8952477
Egg
>>8952477
Flax
Quinoa (cooked al dente)
Almonds
sauteed mushrooms
is it safe to eat pepper spray? i hear its hot and im looking for a new way to spice up my food/meats etc
>>8952465
I'm pretty sure there's actual peppers with more capsaicin in them, but those would be so hot it might send you to the ER. I think it would be ok to try a little pepper spray. It is non-lethal after all. Make sure to provide some photos and let us know how you get on with it
Probably not. Protip: you can fire some pepper spray into someone's air conditioning unit.
No. They are not food-grade, and are frequently denatured - the solvants and propellants are often unsafe for human consumption, so unless you get very lucky and find one that's just water or ethanol, or you're the kind of idiot who likes to eat Freon...
There are a few speciality capsaicin extracts, like any of the Blair reserves, that are food-grade. You will probably regret trying those too - they do not taste good, they just hurt - but you might not regret trying them in the hospital.
What is soy sauce? Is it poison?
In Asian restaurants they give you the good shit. I bought one that was shit and fake. Is it possible to tell the difference?
>>8952464
Just buy it in a store? Soy sauce is not really hard to find
It's fermented soy paste and brine.
>I bought one that was shit and fake. Is it possible to tell the difference?
Evidently, else you wouldn't be complaining.
>gutter oil sauce
How do I activate avocados at home?
Are the health benefits of activated avocados real?
You have to smash the pit with a hammer and then grind up the inside before sprinkling it overtop.
>>8952431
Every time I hit it with a hammer, it just skips off the countertop.
Should I use a bigger hammer, or hold it in place?
>>8952438
...why would you not hold it in place? Have you ever used a hammer on anything before?
I'd hate to see you hammer nails, let alone food.
