What are the biggest "casual filters" in cooking? I.e. foods that a lot of novices attempt and fuck up on

what retard cooks rice in a stainless steel skillet
you can make foolproof rice in a nonstick skillet provided you have a lid and about twenty minutes but who in their right mind would attempt to cook a starchy grain on a non-seasoned surface and expect anything but that picture
also rice isn't even hard as long as you remember to actually rinse it 3-4 times and let it soak for a bit while you do other stuff

How do you like your bacon /ck/?
Thick and chewy or thin and crispy? I'm a crispy man myself
>>8956025
I prefer no bacon at all. Never been a fan of the stuff.
>>8956037
what you might enjoy is what's called fresh side, it's basically thick cut bacon that hasn't been seasoned. you flour and fry it like you would a pork chop

This shit's just melted down freeze pops.
why would you think something that colour, in that packaging, is good to try?
only children and americans drink kool-aid and/or kool-aid knockoffs
Or freeze pops are those drinks but frozen

gunna steal this idea, vodka here I come. been on the gin last two days
I know it's a bit out of season but I'm making a stew so I don't have to cook anything else for the next 2 days. What do you normally chuck in for flavour?
So far all I've added is the basic root veg and meat (sausages in this case, as it's all I have).
worcestershire sauce
chili powder
cayenne pepper
granulated garlic
msg (don't fall for the msg is bad for you meme)
oregano
mustard powder (or just mustard, doesn't matter really)
a little tiny bit of balsamic vinegar

What kind of sausages? Their spices will add flavor. My basic stew uses chuck meat and primary seasoning garlic, thyme, rosemary, cayenne pepper and bay leaf. I always use tomatoe paste or crushed tomato too.
Mirepoix, tomatoes, and stock
So, ck, I saw online how easy it was to make pudding, said fuck it, made it, and now it's chilling down.
it tastes good, at least the bit that was cool, but smells really eggy, I mean there's egg in it so i'm not shocked at all, but its has a concern. I may have undercooked the pudding even after following the directions.
So, my question is this, is the smell normal?
If I did undercook it, is it still safe to eat?
you made 'pudding'? I'm pretty sure pudding is a category of food, not a food itself.
i think that's normal.
i've always thought the traditional homemade recipes were too rich and eggy. i'm eating a straight custard.
the puddings thickened with corn starch and carrageenan taste better.
What do you say /ck/? which one should I order?
BTW i only order with corn, no pepperoni
>>8954792
