Can agree on sprouts, they have such a terrible reputation compared to how they actually taste, even when you don't pan seared with butter/salt. That's a good way to introduce yourself to them, but I prefer them in a pasta sauce I make.

Yum yum in my tummy time. So sweet who could hate them?

So a coworker just gave me three large cans of coconut water drink. I like coconut flavor but they are too sweet to drink as-is. If I make a glass of ice with coconut water and regular Dairy milk would that taste okay? Will the coconut water curdle the milk? Like I want to do something with this coconut water but I don't know anything about anything.

>Dairy milk would that taste okay?
Who knows? Taste is subjective.

I doubt it would curdle the milk because coconut water isn't very acidic. You can simply try a little bit and see what happens. Mix a little and see how it tastes to you (and if it curdles). Why ask random anons subjective questions when you can easily test it yourself?

I guess I thought somebody here might have done it. And yeah tastes good. Subjectively.

I tried making fish balls to go into a Chankonabe like stew. The problem is, they dissolved into the stew. How can I make fish balls that won't dissolve?

I used a cup of yellow onion, a tablespoon of garlic, and about a pound of canned sardines (That had no extra salt and whose fillets were sitting in water). I also added some salt into the blend too.

I blended the mixture into a paste in a blender, and I added some water into it because it wasn't blending. I managed to make them into soft meatballs after absorbing the water with a lot of paper towels. Still, they broke apart.

My thinking is to use a non-blender food processor next time, or would baking the fish balls for a small time in the oven keep it from dissolving into the stew?

This is my first time making them. How would you have done it differently?

Getting my sardines fresh is out of the question sadly.

Like any meatball, they need a binder. Use an egg, and probably start by regrinding crab sticks rather than sardines - sardines are oily af while crab sticks are the easiest way to find surimi, which is a lean blend. Skip the onion and maybe flavor with ginger.

Chicken is also more common these days than fish.

>How would you have done it differently?
Add egg and cornstarch as a binder.

there's nothing wrong with the blender or food processor (they do that all the time on the old Iron chef show to make meatballs). You simply didn't add any binder. Add egg.

Oh, and use a raw fish. Canned fish is already cooked. That makes it even worse for sticking together. You want the proteins in the mix to link together when you cook the balls. That won't happen as well if you start with canned fish. Find some fish you can get raw. I normally use catfish or tilapia for fishballs.

Whenever I go food shopping I never know what to buy as far as snacks go, and then when I'm home I crave snacks. I mostly buy ingredients for meals, and eat fruit mainly for breakfast. I don't really crave sweets too much otherwise.
Pls post good healthy snack suggestions I can either buy or make. Pic somewhat related, once in a while I make bean salad to snack on with pita bread.

I sometimes buy those rice cake things. flavored or not. Sometimes I make salsa and get healthier chips than the standard greasy finger brand.
Some times I buy a watermelon and snack on it for a couple days right out of the refrigerator.

I have about $32 million to last me the rest of the month. I need some advice to get through the month, not sure how to do it - never been this poor before (it's a long story involving bitcoins). I have a few dozen white truffles left, which I thought I'd make as good use of as possible, any way I can incorporate them?

And please no foie gras or the like - I know I'm fucked, but I won't go that fucking low and eat like a peasant.

The wife is on a trip with her family. I'm cooking for myself tonight.

I love my meat, but I'd like to try something different. Recommend me vegetarian dishes. Idc about vegan or not, just no meat. I always rely too heavily on meat for meals to the point I pick the meat before anything else
