Has /ck/ ever had Cincinnati chili? If so what did you think of it?
t. Cincinnatian who eats it often
Yes, Skyline, many times.
I never get a "way" like your pic tho, always cheese coneys, and always hot sauce
I'm from the Northeast US, and I really enjoy it. I've seen a lot of people (mostly from this board, lol) get into heated discussions about whether or not it's actually "chili", but I don't give a fuck. It will always be my guilty "flyover slop" pleasure.
(Also, that picture needs some oyster crackers.)

I always get Skyline 4 way (onions) to go and add jalapenos from home. Good shit.
What to do with a bag of Tim Hortons caramel that is used in donuts.

Basically anyone have tips they would like to share for cheating the food industry out of getting away with too much money
Mine:
>Wendy's
>always collect coupons from work when they are about to throw them out, same with at home
>Buy one get one
>always get Dave's Double 2 for 1
>ask for extra everything but cheese (that way they don't charge you!)
>Do the math on the combo
>realize getting the 4 for 4 is the best way to get even more food without spending extra since a combo is usually ~2 dollars and ONLY has fries and a drink
>4 for 4 Double cheese burger, nuggets(siracha and Sweet and sour, they give you two packets if you ask), and fries
>for here, more refills
>about 7-8 bucks for lunch
How fat are you

Don't see what trying to save money has anything to do with a persons weight.
I was in Montreal recently and stopped by the bakery Patisserie Au Kouign Amann. I had this chocolate cake-like desert pictured in the bottom here. It seems like a flourless cake with a chocolate ganache, but I cannot find the name of it. Does anyone here know what it's called? I'd like to get a recipe.
>>9013076
the filename already has the name you silly
>>9015122
Kouign amann is not a chocolate cake. It's a different type of pastry that the patisserie has named themselves after
looks like a fondant, a pain au raisin (grape bread) and kouign amann which is butter based breton cake

Do you guys like oysters? What type of oyster is your favorite?
is that what the female vagina looks like?

I enjoy the experience of eating them, it's like an activity food. Texture is ok, it definitely just tastes like the ocean though, but that's my gripe in general regarding sea food
What toppings do you guys use? In New England we'll put horseradish or cocktail sauce on them

I make plenty of cakes pretty much one a week but I've never made cookies before, and I don't know where to start really. I'm looking to try something new.
I want to make 2 batches. One with oats which I think I've found a good recipe for but I've got no idea for the other type. Any recipes or suggestions here for another kind? Any recipes you post will be great.
>>9010601
Just buy some Hershey's chips and make the Tollhouse Cookies recipe off the back. Use margarine if you want a soft cookie, butter if you want a crisp one. Use melted butter if you want extra-crisp. It's not hard.
These are my favorite.
http://theperfectchocolatechipcookie.com/instruct.php
I was the same as OP not too long ago, never had made my own cookies so I went out and bought a box of chocolate cookie mix (yeah, I know it's cheaper in bulk to buy each of the ingredients myself, but it was only $3)
I ended up eating all of the cookies myself and got a wicked bad tummyache and shit out tar the next day, but the cookies were good!
Who else maintains a spice-free kitchen?
I only let the ingredients speak for themselves.
Drowning them in noxious spices is culinary sacrilege.
Yes. Sometimes I think people don't like the taste of food because they're always hiding it behind herbs and spices and salt and sugar? I mean a chicken tastes nice without all that doesn't it? What's wrong with the flavor of carrot? Seriously guys.

Why so many baristas behave like rocket scientists.
They just mix hot water and coffee grounds yet they act so important.
There are some horror stories how incompetent barista can ruin not only your coffee but your whole day.
Best trick is to never look at barista especially never look in his or hers eyes, just get the coffee and ignore them so you don't get sucked in senseless conversation with them.
