Hey guys. My friend messaged me that he loves my cooking and he would like me to cook for his social gathering for five people, and said that he would pay for the ingredients and the service fee.
My question is, is there a going rate for such? I don't want to overcharge him. Do you have experience with cooking for a private party and stuff?
Thank you!
$50 a head. If they complain tell them you can do it for $30. (They're gonna feel too cheap and bad to do $20 less than the guy next to them) make the host buy entire jars of herbs and spices and take them with you. Buy extra ingredients and take the left overs.
Walk away with $250, free ingredients, and a full stomach. I did something similar once with an old group of friends.

Just cost it by hour.
Give yourself an hour for planning, an hour for shopping, an hour for setup and cooking, an hour to cook, an hour to cleanup. Yes, you'll be leaving their dishwasher on, everything put away and cleaned up. Are you $10/hr?
At some point, they would do well enough to get takeout from a fine restaurant, and just plating it up. Catering. So, don't exceed that, or make something that really really is better right from the oven, that simply can't be bought.
Most people don't make chocolate mousse and souffles anymore, so they scream fresh and good. I don't see you getting rich off this, but it could be a start to a new business. Someone will ask you to do the same thing for them, and then it goes from there.

How many courses?
Hey /ck/ how's it goin today. I gotta ask a question since it's on the back of my mind. How do you like your fish fillets. Grilled or Fried. And how do you cook it. I don't cook fish myself but my family tends to fry their fish and it's really mother fucking good.

Take tilapia
Throw in trash
Go back to your fishmonger and ask for real fish
Salt to taste and enjoy with a nice albariƱo

Anybody been to Madeira? Anybody have valuable insights into food there?

I've been to Funchal...can't really say I ate anything interesting, but I wasn't looking that hard to be quite honest and I was only there for 48 hours. Not really sure if the food is good or not...but fucking watch out for the Great White Sharks.
The whole Ivory Coast is infested with them.
I know all about it, but don't give serious replies to fast food meme shitposters.

Because there arbitrary. Common folk ate with knives and spoons only in America untill the 17/1800s,. Forks became popular because the commoners wanted to look like classy victorian's .
>>9013150
You got that wrong. Forks weren't widespread in the US until after the civil war. They ate with their hands, filthy barbarians. Whereas in asia, even the peasant had chopsticks long before gaijin learned how to scrape the lice off their body.

Why must it be so awful spicy?
I can't even touch one without gloves on.

That's the problem with taco bell, everything's just way too hot. Even the cinnamon twists are a little much.

What are you harvesting these days my fellow flyover /ck/? I dug these purple potatoes a few days ago. Hard to believe that I planted 2 potatoes and this is how many I got. I still have a bunch of yukon golds that weren't ready to dig yet.
Your nigger taters look foul

They're damn good. I quartered and roasted some and sprinkled fresh parsley, salt and pepper on them and they were great. Skins are a little thicker than Yukon Golds, but I like them. I think they're more of a Peruvian thing so if you're american I can understand how that might scare you.
