yeah. I have an 8" chef's and 8" santoku from the Grand Prix II line, which is pretty affordable. the only reason they're cheaper than the Classic lines is because the handle isn't wood. the specs for the steel and construction are otherwise exactly the same. You can get both for $120 new (as a set) if you poke around on ebay. Always good deals on brand new knives there.

Why the fuck do you literally cuck your tastebuds, /ck?/ Anyone who has a semblance of fine taste would obviously choose the superior, Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich, over prole food, the McChicken. If you earn over 20$ a year, you can choose the obvious choice. In fact, I was just blessed today by the Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I went to my local McDonald's, and no more than 2 snappin' minutes later, I was eating food that was way better than anything on the Dollar Menu. The Smooth Artisan Roll reacted quite well with the homemade McDonald's Mayonnaise Dressing, and to to add a special crunch, some homegrown McDonald's lettuce! The wonderful Tomato Slice added some nice sweetness to the patented McDonald's Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Fillet.
So my friends, I come back to ask you...why do you pick the inferior McChicken?

I'm sick of people on /ck/ talking trash about McDonald's.
McDonald’s sources its fresh ingredients from the same places my supermarket does. Bagged Greens? Yes. Blueberries from the Central Valley? Done. Major Brand Apple Slices? You got it. Also, the egg McMuffins are made with eggs that are cracked right onto the griddle. Sure the strawberry banana smoothie has a lot of sugar in it, but so do smoothies everywhere else and the ones at McDonald’s have the most vitamin C. For the record, my kids order the small strawberry-banana smoothie which is a 12 oz drink clocking in at 210 calories.Not to mention the fruit and walnut salad, a great snack for kids. It is the most hidden item on the menu. Even most employees don’t realize it’s there, but if you ask for it by name, they can find it. Above all, the kitchens and pantries at McDonald’s are immaculate.

Does anyone else no like carbonara?
It's just a completely shitty dish. I don't like it at all. Runny eggs are not a good sauce substitute. And the worst part, when you are eating it, it's either too heavy (because eggs and pasta) or too greasy.
The great part about a tomato based sauce is that the acidity counter acts the melted fat from the meat to avoid having it feel too greasy.
And taste wise there is no substitute for a good tomato sauce.

Same here. Most of the dishes I cook are Italian, Greek, Middle Eastern, Indian or Chinese. I don't make any of the things my grandmother made because if you don't live on a farm you can't eat like that and not be enormous.
