been trying to make rice tastier by putting teabags into the pot to boil it.
Any advice?
I could add oil and fry it and make it delicious but I want a healthy snack
>>9409178
Tea? What were you expecting?
Rice is pure carbohydrates, not sure how a bit of oil could make it worse, but alright. I'd say throw a cube of bouillon in there.
i cooked some sushi rice in coconut milk as an experiment, it was delicious
>>9409178
Try lightly frying it and mixing an egg in, along with seasonings of your choice. Also some soy sauce, sesame oil, and hoisin sauce could really help add some flavor.
Used food belongs in the garbage.
>>9408749
I put my used food in the toilet, anon.
I'm not sure why you posted that pic either. That food looks like it hasn't been used yet. It hasn't even been chewed.
>>9408749
Well, "used" means you've eaten it - fulfilling the food's purpose - so technically it belongs in the toilet, and will end up there, at some point.

What country are you from that you don't know leftovers when you see them.

What are some sauces that go with Bok Choy?
I want to make a sauce for it that isn't honey soy, because I have that all the time.
>sauces that go with Bok Choy?
Let me know if you find one, cause I'm pretty sure such a thing doesn't exist.
Bearnaisé
I'm just happy with some soy sauce and a pinch of sugar, all added at the last second during the stir fry.
why doesn't /ck/ have a sticky?
I want to learn how to cook from scratch.
>>9407537
Why did you make a thread for this? Short answer, there is way too much ground to cover. Just thing geographics, think of the different cookware, spices, herbs, styles, and etc between such different places between India, Cajun country, France, Italy, or any other goddamn place on the map.
I could go into more details, but it's way too much ground to cover, also you're a faggot. Just start cooking and you'll learn a few things.
>>9407537
>tfw worked and ""studied"" one year as a chef's apprentice in an actually amazingly good restaurant
what i learnt
>knife work and how to sharpen correctly quite well
>how to keep my head under pressure
>the value of alcohol
>how to make interesting and refreshing ice cream
>how to make dessert, mostly classics
>how to keep a steady hand during plating
>how to make 5-6 different kinds of salad and how to season them correctly
what i didn't learn
>how to properly cook meat or any other protein
>how to come up with interesting dishes
>how to find the right seasonings and what works together well
it's all about experience, try stuff and remember it if it works
make sure to keep proper measurements if you're making your own recipes, cooking is a science after all
get a good knife and a good sharpening steel
take it slow
prepare everything before starting the actual cooking process
dont put meat in a pan if it's wet, pat it dry first
just go in open minded and keep to tried and true recipes
first and foremost you need to learn the proper taste of things, then you can start cooking seriously

>how to keep my head under pressure
Lmao ooooh yeah I'm sure there was soooo much pressure. You poor little baby how did you ever manage to make it out without having a nervous breakdown? There's LITERALLY nothing more stressful I could imagine than learning to cook holy fucking shit you deserve an award or something
ITT: things you really want a copycat recipe for
First up is Taco Time's chicken. It's really tender and I love the sweet onion flavor. Not sure how to replicate.
>>9407226
I'd die of a sodium-induced stroke within a few months if I figured out how to perfectly clone these at home.

>inb4 shill go away
It's impossible to have a thread like this without seeming a little shill, but everyone has something they want to make at home. Just ignore the McChicken autist and the Taco Bell hype squad. They get their paychecks with or without (you)s.
Anyway, second is Aplets and Cotlets. I plan on modifying a turkish delight recipe sometime in the future for these.

What's everyones favorite trashy cheap beer to get fucked on? I prefer the beast, because for less than $20 I can get a case, and with the 6.9 its just the best bang for my buck
First time making Pico de Gallo. Smells amazing. Really simple, but the chopping up tomatoes/onions/jalapenos takes a while. Also, it's a bit too spicy since I did 1.5x the jalapenos since it didn't look like there was enough initially. Gonna use this as a topping for some yummy fish tacos later. What do you guys think?
Looks fresh as fuck, wouldn't mind some myself. Have you ever considered a pinch of mint in there, or as garnish? Could tune it towards more of a Moroccan feel.
>>9406193
Pico de gallo shouldn't go on tacos or should go on grilled fish or chicken.
>>9406205
Shut up
