Hey guys, complete amateur here (but learning)
What exactly is mirepoix? I was making a tomato sauce and saw that a lot of recipes call for just adding celery stalks into the sauce as it simmers.
Is this a chemical reaction? What exactly does it 'add' to the sauce?

>The Industrial Revolution was a mistake
just fuck right off okay
>>9117029
Mirepoix is diced carrots, onions, and celery that you typically sautee in a pan for additional flavor.

/ck/ what are some strongly flavoured cuts of beef?
I want to make a beefier tasting burger.
What in god's name are you typing about.
Ok I'll help you
The only way to make a burger taste beefier is this
Mix it with beef flavor powder, the kind you use for soup , let it marinate and infuse with that shit

I grow most of my produce organically but when I have to buy leafy greens in the winter I'll make sure I can see a bit of bug damage. If bugs lived, I can live. No bugs, danger and proceed with extreme caution.

Why is my chicken sometimes dry, especially when I reheat in the oven?
>get chicken out of pouch
>put it in my baking pan
>season bottom side
>flip over
>season top side
>chop up some broccoli
>cover it in foil
>throw it in for 45 minutes @ 400F
Should I be marinating it or throwing some extra chicken broth in the pan with it?
45 minutes @400f
you are cooking ot for 20 minutes too long.
>>9115025
too elaborate, this is how I make my breasts.
pan sear each side 1 to 2 minutes on the stove; flip again (2nd flip) throw pan into 400 F oven for 7 minutes; perfect every time.
so 45 minutes is a fuck load way too long.

Seriously, what do with this shit other than fry it up?
By the way, moderate the heat of your skillet. Fry it lightly until golden brown and delicious.
Do not overheat your pan or otherwise your house will smell like a crematorium.
Recipes welcome.
Hawaiian slobs cook it with pineapple-glazed-pineapple in a pineapple glaze
Anthony bourdain gave it three thumbs up
>>9114005
It's almost a palatable canned meat product though
There's got to be someway to prepare it other than to mask it in sugar.
Also, fuck Anthony Bourdain
You really need to watch the ingredients in the different varieties of spam. They replace pork with mechanically separated chicken in many flavors where you wouldn't expect it (like "Lower Sodium"). I always stick with the original for this reason.

Are there people who actually do this? Put just enough milk in their bowl to barely moisten maybe 30% of the cereal?
>>9110694
>not eating oats with water
Stop being a fatass.
I do. I want my cereal to be covered in a thin layer of milk but structurally intact and crunchy.
