steak fajitas
Hi co/ck/s,
I'm looking for resources on how to plate food. I'd like something technical in nature explaining the techniques and logic behind the process but anything will do!

This. 70 percent of your sensory input is vision. It's why atmosphere is so important at a restaurant
I personally like to use contrasting colors in a deconstructed aspect, but it's what I do everyday at work
Why are odd numbers more pleasing than even?
What is the best store-bought salsa?
Best I've had was this. Also once bought mango salsa from ALDI that was really good.

This is good stuff, can confirm.
>muh crumb
eat shit, crumbfags. my bread was delicious.
>be an american
>know nothing about real bread
>save a picture from baking thread
>repost it thinking people literally mean crumbs on the counter when they say crumb

Nice repost, to the repost, faggot.
Lets talk about cold pizza.
Myself, I find that some types of pizza are great cold, and others are disgusting.
Frozen pizza, for example, is great cold - perhaps because its whole existence is based around being preserved cold. Chain pizza like Pizza Hut or whatever, ugh. That stuff is edible for about five minutes after it comes out of the oven and then never again.
Really good pizza, you should never do cold. Toast or grill it up.
What do you think?
I don't always eat cold pizza. But when I do, it's on the side of the curb to cover up my morning breath of gin.
Who the fuck stores their pizza in plastic bags?

So I bought this cheap-ass cast-iron pan one day. It came "preseasoned", which didn't seem like a problem, but apparently the shitty pre-seasoning they used doesn't like my induction plate very much. Even if I try to heat it up slowly it eventually chips like crazy to the point my pan started looking like the surface of the moon (see pic).
No problem, I thought. I'll just polish off the seasoning and start with a fresh slate...
Yeah, no such luck. The stuff they used is near indestructible. It's like ceramic or something. I've been going at it with a fucking electric sander using coarse paper and now the sanding paper has actually turned smooth, but the "preseasoning" is still mostly there. That stuff is crazy tough.
Anyone have experience with this kind of pre-seasoning? Is there a better way of removing it?
>>9120866
Try using your induction plate to destroy it
>>9120866
Well, if its chipping already, might as well get it hot as fuck and speed the process up and then reseason..
Post your favorite beverages, time of day or night you like to drink.
Also post what you like to mix.
Alcoholics only
>Stone Ripper Ale
>Dead Moab
>usually after work around 6 PM

ohh poitin is the perfect drink
any flavour you add to it just becomes the perfect form of itself
orange becomes sharper and slightly more sour
apple becomes sweeter and softer
it is just the best thing and it is literally like 98%abv

Added to my list of booze to try. Sounds great.
>literally cocoa puffs
Minus the chocolate milk and vitamins.
I think it tastes more like modern cookie crisp, at least the malt o meal generic.

Fuck you, not its no
I found this on the website of a pot maker.
It's like cauliflower but it's green
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanesco_broccoli
The taste isn't all that, but it does have a gorgeous look to it.
>>9120729
Romanesco is good.
Do Americans really have to unhinge their jaws to eat their national cuisine?

Jfc these inbred euros are really obsessed today
Gonna play my hand at some curry tonight. New recipe. Looking for experienced tips.
Ingredients:
Chicken, cubed
Red onion, diced
Tomato, diced
Purple garlic, minced
Ginger, minced
Thai chilies, chopped
Cilantro, garnish
Coconut Milk
Seasonings:
Turmeric
Curry powder
Cumin
Mustard powder
Cayenne
Chili powder
Paprika
Cinnamon
Plan is to roast the dry seasonings for a few minutes in a dutch oven on the stove, then plop the vegetables and chicken in with some oil to saute for a bit. When everything looks like it's nearing finished I'll add the coconut milk and taste for salt. Will be served with a side of quinoa.
>he still eats meat
>>9120698
Except curry leaf, which is where the powder comes in.
>>9120674
you left out
>fecal matter, fresh

Anyone have a snack they reach for when they feel kind of blue? I know when I have a great and power hankering for a snack, I reach for some cinnamon nuts. It always does the trick.
>>9120629
Vodka
Fruit snacks or fudge.
Haystacks get a strong mention as well.
>>9121007
>Haystacks
>dry noodles and nuts dipped in peanut butter
So, lazy man's Sichuan noodles? It sound good enough to make and try.
>spiked
>non alcoholic
what did they mean by this?
This juice has been mickey'd.
>>9120620
I've seen a few energy drinks say non alcoholic on them.
Never understood why.
Spiked to me would mean it contains alcohol. I don't know why they used that for their non-alcoholic beverage. I would call them and ask.
Yum
