Whats a good meal I can make at home for $30 or less?
No deep frying.
Lunch or dinner.
Oven baked salmon
Chicken noodle soup
Like almost anything.
You need to give more specifics
How many people, and what region you like
how important is texture?
50/50 with taste imo

Next time you are about to eat something, take each part of the meal and run it through a blender before you eat it. Chicken? Blended. Vegetables? Blended. Bread? Blended. A dessert? Blended. See which of those you enjoy eating as baby food.
Or get one of those Jones Soda Thankgiving Dinner packs, and sample a full, fine Thankgiving feast in drinkable soda form.

Do you honestly believe this is a topic worthy of its own thread?
Have you got autism?
Carefully
For me it's Thai curry, the best curry. Japanese curry is for plebs.
>>9228972
Agreed. Out of what I've had, Thai > Indian > Japanese.
>which country has the best shit?
good thread, gaylord
>>9228972
I've never understood Japanese curry and "curry rice" is just gross. Sweet Thai curry with veggies and meat served over rice is delicious though.
I've shopped at Aldi for most of my life.
I grew up pretty poor and you save an incredible amount of money by getting your food there, which is why we went. It used to be pretty trashy as far as atmosphere, but they've renovated/opened up a lot of Aldi stores in my area.
If I could complain about Aldi at all, I would say their selection isn't too great in some areas. You're limited to just Aldi's brand for most items and they may only have one size of that particular item.
Where do you go grocery shopping and what are the pros/cons?
>>9225954
Well I used to go to Vons/Safeway until they closed down the one by my house. Seems to be the Aldi equivalent. Now I shop at Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, some attempt by Walmart to make some bougie Vons for middle class neighborhoods. Has a pretty good selection and is pretty cheap so I don't mind.
>>9225967
They actually have a couple of those in my town but I've never thought to shop there. I feel like Walmart (supercenters) produce section is pretty shit. Tbh I thought they were closing the neighborhood Walmart stores.
The best store in my town is called Food Festival. Then we have a Walmart with some shelf food but no produce, not a Super Walmart. Then the worst super market is probably Piggly Wiggly. Kwik Trip has all the food Staples you need if you don't need to do a full shop, such as onions, bread, butter, milk, potatoes etc.

Hey anon do you like fishdicks?

Not funny.
Hey, I made anpan today with my girlfriend. Japanese baked buns with red bean paste inside. Does anybody else cook with their significant other and how does it turn out?
>Pic related.
>>9236410
yeah looks like shit, your girlfriend is probably a man anyway, kys
>>9236410
Pics of your girlfriend, is she Japanese?
If by "cooking with" you mean "sits on the counter within 3 feet of whoever is actually cooking", then yes. If it's a dessert being made, she's the one cooking. If it's dinner being made, it's me.
I think I prefer it this way. Can't imagine actually truly trying to cook with someone, matching pace and who is doing what and who is using which counter area and reaching here and there. Sounds frustrating.
Does this look okay?
Is this in a restaurant setting or just for you?
>>9236263
Just for me.
>>9236254
yeah
Future survivor here.
How do I get into freeze drying my own food without spending thousands on equipment? The process seems simple enough. Freeze food to cryogenic levels, then vacuum the container so that the water vaporizes away without it changing phase to liquid in between.
Vacuum chambers like picrel are pretty cheap, but how should I go about making an enclosure to bring the temperatures down to the appropriate levels? Thanks in advance.
Whoops used wrong pic.

What the fuck
I can't be the only one who doesn't like cilantro
Liking cilantro is hereditary.
Sucks to not being able to enjoy salsa or chicken tikka masala with cilantro.
It tastes soapy to a large percentage of people, so obviously not.
