So I know it's possible to cook eggs (poach) in plastic wrap. But is it possible to make dumplings like this?
Like.. a steamed bun without a steamer?
16 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Why not?

It's startlingly inefficient but completely possible. Only issue is that steaming (surprisingly) promotes surface drying. This helps with stickiness on the surface.
>>
>>9257048
Not a great idea. Just get a bamboo steamer for $10 dude

We can give you better advice if you explain what particular problems you are having.

I'd advise against a patty press:
1) they're totally unnecessary
2) they're often counterproductive because they compress the patty too much. That's bad. You want to form patties with a minimum amount of work and pressure. Too much pressure or too much fucking around with the meat will result in a less pleasant texture.
>>
>>9256062
Drop the traditional patty and fill the minced meat with onions.

Those are literally some of the shittiest sausages iv ever seen, no wonder they were awful.

Go to a butchers, buy fresh (not frozen) and make sure they have a high meat content.

Decent UK sausages should be dense and snap when you bite in to them.

Frozen sausages like that are the kind of thing are government use to poison poor school children on the sly.

Do you have any pizza delivery horror stories /ck/? lets hear em. This happened to me just last week.

>order pizza
>waiting for a long while, its beyond late at this point
>lady finally pulls up to my block but can't for the fucking life of her find my house
>she calls me on my phone repeatedly over and over again and every time i instruct her as simply as possible on what house it is
>she finally pulls up TO THE WRONG HOUSE and says shes here
>i say fuck it and take the short walk up to the house so that my neighbors don't get my shit or get angry
>ask her for pen to sign receipt
>she says she has to go to her car and makes me hold on to my heavy ass food in the delivery bag along with the drink and everything for like 6 minutes in the sun
>don't even tip her

how can you even be that incompetent?

make beef stew with dumplings.

how do you buy too much beef? It's so expensive, I'd be sure to inspect it first just in case something is wrong with it.

That would work with a tender cut like a steak, but using stew meat for that would come out like chewing on a piece of tire rubber.

let's cook a tian provençal
I'll use this recipe for guidelines, but this is basically a ratatouille as far as I'm understanding this
let's start with preheating the oven to 180 deg C and slicing two tomatoes
