Need to save money for about a year.
What can I eat, that doesn't have to be cooked, unless it's in a microwave.
Something that is, cheap, reasonably healthy and that is easy to prepare using a microwave.
been looking online but everything is so expensive.
links to websites where I can order, appreciated.
yes I know that I can cook a ton of food and store it but cooking is not an option and buying everything separate gets expensive.

eat shit you find on the ground.
beg people on the side of a busy highway for food. offer sexual favors
blow dudes in a dumpster for pennies. use to buy jars of capers
drop produce on the ground in the grocery store, step on it, and then eat it.
Microwave rice to cook it. Then mix it with canned beans and season it to your tastes.
Go to your cheapest local supermarket and buy fuckloads of their cheapest canned soups. Bread is cheap and you can dip it into the soup for more substance.
Between these meals you will live the peasant life and save thousands.
Help me out /ck/.
All I have to cook these chicken thighs with is an electric Presto griddle. How in the fuck can I cook the chicken on this thing. I liver in a military barracks with no kitchen so this is what I had to settle for.
I have no idea what to put on the surface of the griddle to cook the chicken.
Smother the griddle in butter, spice up the chicken to taste, and cook it up
does oil not work

nope
I had a really great ginger miso dressing at FatBao a few days ago. Where can I buy a dressing like this?
>>9275383
I've always made dressing when I've wanted. Do you not own a blender/food processor?
I usually skip dressing because I enjoy a big chunk of plain lettuce or cabbage and dressing adds as many calories as a large serving of beans and grain. I'd rather have oil-free hummus and whole wheat bread in addition to the veggies.
>>9275404
I do but I'm a college student and cook for one. Usually if I buy a bunch of ingredients they spoil so its convenient to get a prepackaged bottle.
>>9275602
You'll be better off for your whole life if you get in the habit of eating real food as soon as possible. Miso dressing doesn't need anything special or in large quantities, besides a cheap pouch of miso which keeps for a couple years. All you need is a knife, cutting board, bowl, and manual hand whisk.
I'm kind of inexperienced at cooking is it hard ?
How should I start ?
I have lots of ribeye and sirloin I can use.
>>9275375
Make Biltong instead
Does /ck/ have any experience with these new delivery systems? Seems tailor made for hikkis but I've never used it before. Might be cool to get staples just delivered so I don't have to go out and get them myself.
>>9275372
The only reason you would buy food from Amazon is when you want japanese snacks or something.
It is ok. Be sure to tip the delivery people. Much better to deliver the delivery people than the insufferable tards in restaurants.
For me, it's gotta be the best ramen, the only ramen, Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Cup Ramen!

I saw a man eat an entire pizza, box and all.
What is the difference between a prickly pear and a cactus apple?
And which one can you eat?
My neighbor has a cactus garden and some of his cactii have them
You mean a tuna vs a xoconostle?
>>9275230
Prickly pear often refers to the entire plant and I've never heard the fruit called cactus apples
>>9275230
Well, some cacti have the things on that pic. A great many species are edible, but they're fully of incredibly hard seeds and are covered in tiny hairlike spines that will make your life living hell if you get one in your mouth.
Other cacti have fruits that are similar to dragonfruit. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the internet about them, and there doesn't seem to be quite as much variety of them as there is of prickly pears.
So I'm about to go to uni in about 3 weeks and I heard they got a huge kitchen in the dorm building that's shared by everyone in the building but it's apparently empty 90% of the time from what I've heard at the orientation. In my last 3 weeks home I wanna learn some things that might be useful to be able to cook in uni. What are some dishes you would recommend /ck/?
>>9275183
Ramen
Toast
Fois Grois
>>9275187
Thank you!

Learn how to make different types of pasta dishes, cuz those will be a staple part of your diet. They're relatively cheap and easy to make in bulk. Aside from that, learn how to boil rice properly and how to cook proteins.
Don't get me wrong, all those fancy ass food are probably delicious as fuck.
But- they're not accessible.
They're expensive. If I make something fancy as fuck I wanna share it with people but the masses aren't gonna drop $400 for a single meal.
If you can't eat a food, then it's not a food. It's a decoration.
From what I've heard this is something really ticking devisive.
I dunno, what do you think?

Nice post, Herr Marx. Of course the things the elites amuse themselves with will be out of reach of the common man. But keep in mind the common man is not really in a position to appreciate them anyways. Because he's programmed to look at anything that looks like OP pic and judge it as pretentious bullshit. So most folks kinda know where they stand. The only folks stuck in the middle are the people who make just enough money to put on airs once in a while and go out to a posh place, but can't do so as often as they'd like to. And really, fuck those people.
conspicuous consumption
>>9274897
You're exactly right. I'm a medfag and tonight I had dinner with a drug rep at Ruth's Chris. Their company picked up the tab. I eat there a few times a month and as I walk from the parking lot to the front door I always have the displeasure of seeing a homeless person or two across the street begging for change that could never afford to eat there with me. So we should take the money that I make because I've dedicated my entire goddamn life to the science and practice of medicine and spread that money around so that every unwashed lazy piece of shit can eat every bit as well as I do. You've opened my eyes OP. You glorious winged faggot.
What's your favorite way/recipe to prepare veggies? And is there a "best" way to do?
Like any legendary degenerate, I enjoy the taste of prepared veggies with some to no olive oil almost as much as junk food.
>>9274845
There's no "best" way. You can grill them, saute them, bake them all to perfection. It's a matter of preference and the rest of the dish.
It depends on vegetable.
I prepare most root vegetables like this:
>Peel if necessary
>Boil in salted water until half cooked
>Dry and put on an oven tray
>Toss with oil, butter, herbs and spices
>Roast in the oven until golden
I also have one thing with carrots:
>Cut thin and evenly
>Cook in a pan with oil, salt and pepper
>Wait until they're almost done
>Add honey and fresh tarragon
Bell peppers
>Sautee on a hot pan while moving until soft and some charred surface
>Add pepper
Onions
>Caramelize on pan
>Add salt and pepper
or
>Add soy sauce
>Add vinegar (red wine / balsamic)
>Add little brown sugar
>Add pepper
>Cook for a couple minutes longer
Aspargus/Broccoli
>Boil in salted water until half cooked
>Grill until little brown/charred bits appear
>Sprinkle little olive oil, salt and pepper on top
Probably the only thing I don't like, is eating raw vegetables apart from bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and maybe few other things. For example, I find raw carrot somewhat chewy and dry after munching it in my mouth for a while. There is so many ways to cook vegetables and everyone has their own preferences.
Let's share our secret snacks. Put a little bit of trust into your fellow co/ck/wranglers and try each others recipes.
Here's some of mine. I know you're gonna say they're nasty without having tried them, just trust me and try it you'll be surprised.
Number 1: Sweet milk bread rolls covered in philadephia and a lil bit of horseradish. Some countries have horseradish flavored cream cheese, this works as well.
Number 2: Ham (cooked or uncooked doesn't matter), cover in mayonnaise (not miracle whip you disgusting fucks), roll up and just eat it as is
Number 3: Apples with a mild cheese of your choice. This one is fairly nilla, for beginner snackers.
>>9274824
I'll contribute one. More of a dessert, but:
Toast a piece of multigrain bread. Drizzle maple syrup on it until the surface is covered, but not enough to saturate it. Top with peanut butter. East with a spoon.
>>9274824
You described Stallone Cuts sans cheese
>a pile of ugly meat, veins of tangy mayo, and drawn tightly over it all is a thin skin of sweaty pinkish cheese.
>>9274824
You reminded me of this
Ingredients:
Your favorite eating apple
Cheddar cheese, aged at least 6 months (or nicest you can afford)
Cut and core cold, refrigerated apples into 1/4" slices, making sure they are not sloped when laid flat. Top with 1/4" slices of cheddar. Brown cheese with a propane or butane torch à la crème brûlée. Serve immediately.
I started doing this at holiday dinners years ago, eventually deciding to leave out a platter of the prepped ingredients and a couple torches as melting stations for people to make their own. Big hit.
Grandma pizza >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sicilian za
>>9274786
Perfection.
>>9274786
Are the Sicilian pizza square Margherita pizza? Just a shape difference?
>>9274795
Usually in burgerland, a sicilian pizza is a square thick crusted thing. The toppings very, but the crust is usually thicc and chewy. A Gramma za is the same thing, but you don't let the dough rest so it comes out lighter and crispy.
Hey /ck/ what's your favorite chocolate milk? mine is this cocio or that cheap Milbona one from lidl lol
>>9274690
The one I make at home with condensed milk, cocoa powder and muthafuckin love.
This shit, mixed in with your favorite milk at your preferred cocoa to milk ratio. Best cacao on earth. You can eat this shit raw
CHOCOMEL!
What are examples of strange, often disgusting foods from the mid-20th century? This period, I'll suggest between the 1930s through 1970s, is often cited as having the worst examples of the entire century, so lets see them.
If that's what you're into: http://kookychow.tumblr.com/
>>9274638
Certainly not into it, in the sense I would want to eat it. Most examples of this stuff looks to be in poor taste, and unhealthy.
No amount of money would make me eat this
