I love bacon, eggs and toast but I'm looking to mix it up a little. I already add diced tomato for freshness but I'm in the mood for beans. Problem is I don't know which. All online "recipes" just say beans. Kidney beans, white beans, black beans there's 30 different kinds of beans at the supermarket. I don't really like the idea of beans that have been sitting in sauce but see those used a lot in this context. Is that "the thing"? Or is that just a British thing?
Also mushrooms. I like mushrooms but what kind would work well just thrown on a pan and served with bacon and eggs? Should I slice in a little onion too since it always goes well with mushrooms? I only eat this during the weekend so I don't mind if it becomes like cooking a full meal.
you sure don't sound like a chef, friendo

If vegetables are so good for you, why don't they taste good?

You ever have good-tasting medicine?
Because they aren't sparse or rare in the wild. You eat it because it's there

how do scientists/experts reconcile their predictions of ever-rising longevity linked with contemporary healthy eating with the all-time high obesity rates, which are at nearly 50% in many western nations (and are not dropping) and, by definition, shorten peoples' lives?

Shut up Rick. Let's get two birds stoned at once.
It's not faggot, eating nothing but meat is bad but a diet consisting of mostly veggies with a little meat is better then any diet.
Now go sage yourself

How do I make thing that don't taste bland with out buying off the shelve premade sauces? Anytime I make something it will taste bland without adding tons of premade sauces
Pretty vague there. But frying up a bit of onion and garlic helps pretty much any dish

Help!
I'm about to try to steam vegetables for the first time. I bought new strainers just for this as my pot is a bit small and the other strainer I had was huge. When I put the smallest strainer I have into the pot now it goes fairly deep into the pot but it fits well enough.
My question is this: Is it a big problem if the strainer goes fairly deep into the pot? I'm worried I will have too little water and it won't steam well? Will it still cook alright?
I really have no clue what I'm doing please help.
have you got a chinese supermarket near you? Get a bamboo steamer, they're the nicest to use.
No no, to much water is always the problem. A thin skim of water is ok, because steam is ridiculously energetic compared to water. Steam your veg to a chewy finish.
While reading up on how to steam vegetables I now have a follow-up question! These are the strainers I bought from Costco:
https://www.amazon.com/Sabatier-Stainless-Strainer-Baskets-Silver/dp/B0176B90PQ
Are they fine to steam vegetables with..? This online article told me to make sure the strainers were heat resistant but I'm not sure if these are.
Not sure what I'm in for. I think mostly food trucks. What kind should I go for /ck/?
There's some really popular ones long lines. Like ramen burgers, probably not worth 1.5 hours for that novelty. Suggestions?
