Me and my buddies got into an argument recently about the differences between a pan and a skillet. I asserted that a pan and skillet are two different things, used to cook different stuff. My buddy said that skillets are a food you cook. We had an argument about why is it called a skillet if its cooked in a skillet, and then we couldnt figure what is named after what. Later i tried to go to bed but i remembered that pancakes are called pancakes cause you cook them in a pan. Then we started arguing about what is a pancake vs. what is a skillet, then it turned to what is a pancakes vs. what is a flapjack. Im losing my fucking shit over this but i cant stop thinking about it. Please can someone clarify all of this so i can jerk off and go to sleep?
Once upon a time, the world contained more dictionaries and fewer faggots.
They're too different things. I argued about this with my mother last week.

Tyson seems to marinatr their fully-breaded tendies in saltwater. Not a fan.
I'm an international high school student in a dorm in norway, and I get $386 every 4 weeks. My dorm doesn't feed us after 12 pm on friday until 9pm sunday, and it costs $9 to go to the supermarket and come back. What food do I buy and how often should I go grocery shopping?
The fact that you need to ask this question on 4chan of all places means you have failed as a human being and should probably kill yourself
>>9295948
What method do you recommend? Has to look like an accident.
what chain is the supermarket? also how does it cost $9 to go there? you have to be eligible for some kind of student or youth discount, if not free transport altogether
also to be clear, you need to eat for two days plus one dinner each week? do you have a freezer? fridge? cupboard space?
Is there truly any breakfast better than some shredded wheat and warm milk?

Honey smacks. I cannot think of any cereal I would rather eat then these delicious honey flavored cardboard nuggets. Also if you eat two or three bowls your piss will smell like honey.
Made a post about these lil' fucks about a week ago.

Do americans really eat this?
Toast sandwich with marmite and a slice of sharp cheddar is 10/10. Not even kidding.
this is the best sausage available, worldwide.

Your mom prefers a big fat Italian sausage
>>9295587
best in what sense?
best as in price to taste?
if you mean, best as in 'eat this for the rest of your life', no. No it is not. Eat anything everyday and you'll go insane.
>>9295626
I eat 3 containers of blueberries a day and am still perfectly sane.
>>9295398
pretty good, definitely more than the sum of it's parts. never heard it under that name, and I only have it at funerals at a baptist church, so I may be thinking of something different.
>>9295398
Never heard it called that but yeah it's alright. Would rather have it without the shit that's not fruit
I've only heard it called Orange Goo. Shit rules, but I can't eat too much of it. Very rich.
I've never tried these before, but my local store has them on sale four for a dollar. How does /ck/ like to eat them?
Carefully.
Carefully cut the wide side from top to bottom then the posterior side. Then the lateral sides. Slide your teeth across the pulp and eat the flesh off the skin. Might need floss toothpick and tweezers to pull hairs out ya teeth
>>9295384
>I've never tried these before
where the heck are you from?
if you like sweet fruits, then buy them soft. use a peeler and peel off the skin and slice off pieces of the fruit along the seed in the center and eat as is.
if you like them sour, then buy them when they're firm. peel off the skin the same way and carve up the same way. the fruit will be crunchy like a firm cucumber. i prefer to eat them like this and dip in a little salt and chilli (like in pic)
Are Mercer knives actually good, or is it some "I actually work in a restaurant, I'm a Food Industry Professional!" signalling thing where anons claim Mercer is good because that's what they use at his place of work (and Mercer generally sells to restaurant kitchens and not to home cooks)?
Any knife that's sharp is a good knife. With that said Mercer knives are generally thicker knives and thus faster to dull.
Metal is metal, you got Weebs who will try to sell you $200+ Japanese knives folded a 1000 times and yeah because they're so thin when properly sharpened they are an absolute joy to use. But the key is to keep it sharp.
I'd rather have a sharp Mercer than a dull Shun. Ultimately I think Victoronx makes the best middle ground of professional chef knives. But the point is buy a Whetstone and sharpen your fucking knives!
For the price its good, about equal to victorinox
>>9295388
>thus faster to dull.
Thicker knives don't dull faster, they just wedge more.
What are good foods that I can make on pans / skillets
Pancakes!
whats better eating in or drive throw

What's the best oil to use when making mayonnaise? I used about 100ml of canola per egg yolk and it was kinda weird.
>>9295187
One with the least flavour.
I found a perfect veg oil, but then I moved and now i'm stuck with mayo that tastes disgusting.
>>9295187
In Spain generally we use sunflower oil and add a little olive oil for flavour.
How are Eskimos able to achieve a nutritious, balanced diet by eating virtually nothing but meat? You would think they'd be riddled with disease and health problems but for the most part they seem to be healthy and vigorous people.
What's their secret /ck/?
>>9295179
It's the fat. And it's called ketosis.
>>9295179
The human body is surprisingly adaptable. But, I've read that they'll eat the stomach contents of animals which contains fermented plant matter. They also probably gather any kind of plant foods when they're available.
>>9295182
>However, in multiple studies the traditional Inuit diet has not been shown to be a ketogenic diet.

It's pretty interesting. It says that eating raw meat gives you more carbs.
