to save time and not have to make dinner every night, i prepare a big batch that lasts a week or so. does anyone else do this, and if so what are your recipes? mine doesn't taste great and i am looking to improve it or change to something else

>7-8 sliced red or green peppers (i also make this with eggplant instead of peppers, but it tastes even worse)
>4 cut tomatoes
>1 chopped onion
>lots of garlic
>oregano, salt, pepper
>shit ton of hot sauce
>oil and vinegar
mix it in a big pot and leave on low heat for 30 minutes. it is then served over rice or in tortillas.

challenge: your recipes have to be healthy and
vegan
Any baked pasta dish. Lasagna or casserole, whatever. Prep is usually streamlined, panwork is never overly complicated and once it's in the oven you have time to clean and clear the kitchen.

It's really the best.

I'm going out with friends for a couple days, we will be staying in a weekend house with an averagely equipped kitchen, also we'll have a campfire up most of the time.

I can't cook for shit, but I suddenly got a craving for classic English meat pies like in Sweeney Todd excluding human and cat meat so I decided I want to be in charge of cooking.

Besides the meat pies I have meatballs / rolls in mind as easily made but tasty food.

Please contribute some ideas what would be some good, relatively easily made food for our long weekend. Also, please link a good recipe for aforementioned meat pies.

Always thought you could make eggs more efficient by beating them in shell.I just shook three eggs for about ten minutes and they were mixed right out of the shell. No more dirty forks. No more tennis elbow.

When I first brined some chicken breasts, just some water, a little salt and sugar for 24 hours, the difference was incredible, especially in fried chicken.

Now Im wondering what flavors or things work well in a brine.

Zest? Cut peppers? Black pepper?

Most meats take well to brining. I've heard about people brining fish too, not sure about shellfish though.

I like to brine my onions before making onion rings.

Pizza originates from Italy. But I wouldn't call Chicago Deep Dish Pizza "Italian".

>cup noodles
>net weight 65g
>contains 80cal/100g
Do noodles double in weight when boiled?
If so these become slightly over 100cal/cup, correct?
Or do noodles absorb way more water? I have no way to measure its weight right now.

I'm curious because there are people who say that this pack would be closer to 400cal, but the numbers don't add up unless the water ratio is like 4:1

If you aren't adding anything else the calorie count doesn't change. Water doesn't have calories.

Got any suggestions? I like lentils but my childhood experience of them was pretty much just lentil soup and maybe the occasional lentil curry type thing.

Hi farmer Brown, tell us what do you grow on your farm?

"Well the soils pretty fucked, so mostly canola and some shitty beans and things"

Hmmmm, not much good then. But don't worry mr farmer, will start as bunch of shitty add campaigns about margarine being "healthy" and then we'll tell people to eat more legumes too and that should help line your pockets.

Thanks for the shilling.
