chuck is perfect for burgers, it's what you make REAL burgers out of, not just grocery store ground beef. grind it up, lightly mix it with either just straight salt or a montreal spice mix if you want something zestier, leave it to refrigerate and then grill them. I like to wrap a ribbon of bacon around the side of the patties so they keep a really crisp perfect circle in terms of shape.

Warm the juice up first to a light boil , then jar it (preferably in a mason jar, that pickle jar could crack, boiling fucking juice and glass everywhere), and add the cucumbers.
Let cool out of the fridge till room temperature. Let sit for at least a week.

Hello folks. I'm starting grad school in Cali in a month and need to learn to stop surviving on cafeteria food. I'm looking to buy a vegetarian cookbook, because I know there are infinite recipes on the internet, but I like the idea of having something laying around that I could just flip through until I find something that looks good. I'd like something that focuses on simple dishes - not one of those massive Martha Stewarty things with flans and casseroles &c. I've done a bit of reading, and it sounds like Love Real Food by Kathryne Taylor and The Complete Vegetarian Cookbook by America's Test Kitchen are both good options. Any thoughts senpai?

Replace rice with brown short grain rice, water with vegetable stock and 15 minutes with 45 minutes to an hour. Also add maybe half a chopped onion caramelized in some bacon grease to that. You can do it in the same pot you add the rice to later.

Currently in need of a good sushi rice recipe.

For sushi rice I use a 1:1 ratio of rice and water. After rinsing the rice I put it in the water, bring the water to a boil, and as soon as it comes to a boil I turn the heat down to barely a simmer and cover. I cook for ~15 minutes and turn the heat off without removing the lid. While the rce is cooking I make the seasoning for the rice. This can vary a lot put personally I use around 2 table spoons of mirin and 4 of rice wine vinegar and mix this into the rice after its cooled a while. Some recipes say to use sugar but I don't like using it.
If you're making rice balls you can buy season mixes at Japanese grocery stores that add different kinds of flavor.

And of course you need to use short grain rice, I've known people who tried other kinds and up with a mess. Personally I've only used botan calrose but I'm sure there are much better varieties out there.
