Is teppanyaki the only acceptable thing to get at a Chinese buffet? I don't trust the regular food troughs they put out.
>>9330488
You're already at a Chinese buffet, might as well embrace it
>>9330488
don't act like a snob if you're at a chinese buffet, anon
who are you trying to impress
>>9330488
Sometimes when my parents visit i take them to one because they like.
I usually I stick with the stuff that would normally be side orders- egg rolls, fried wontons, gyoza, etc.. I sometimes lay down a little rice under them to suck up any sauces.
Only fine Italian cooking posts allowed. OC from me, pic related.
I always feel really sad when I'm eating from a paper plate when it's not at a BBQ.
>>9325208
Paper plates used regularly are a good indicator that you've failed in life.
>>9325212
Actually its the opposite. Some of us are busy so having a plastic plate or fork to throw away is a better use of time than having a mountain of dishes every night. I guess for neets who have unlimited time to clean dishes though, it seems bad?
what would you do to this pig no limits? ;)

whole, suckling pig?
smoke that bitch
>>9320029
tell it to sleep tight
Good cookbooks for someone with no knowledge of cooking?
>>9336792
Tasty videos are pretty good for cooking amateurs
if you REALLY want to learn:
- "The Professional Chef", the manual of the Culinary Institute of America
- "The new Larousse Gastronomique" (expensive new but dirt cheap when bought used on amazon)
- "Modernist Cuisine"
all those are more like super extensive and exhaustive encyclopedias on cooking and all things food. A life purchase. The biggest problem all cookbooks have in common is they don't teach you technique or barely anything. For that videos are best.

Know a good one for British food?
Hi 4chan, anon here. I've noticed that there is an abundance of people who are so retarded they don't know how to correctly make a burger, so I'm here to set the record straight.
>Layer 8: Top Bun, AIs: Top half of the same bun as the bottom bun, NEVER MIX AND MATCH BUNS.
>Layer 7: Vegetables, AIs: Lettuce tomato, onion(if those three are present go in that order bottom to top, but if the onions are grilled then they go below the lettuce), pickles, etc.
>Layer 6: Misc, AIs: French fries, onion rings, crispy onions, etc
>Layer 5: Extra meats, AIs: Egg, bacon, ham, roast beef, etc.
>Layer 4: Cheese, AIs: Any one type of cheese or multiple cheeses.
>Layer 3: Burger, AIs :Patty of any form, beef, chicken, veggie, etc
>Layer 2: Condiments, AIs: Ketchup, Mustard, fry sauce, etc.
>Layer 1: Bottom Bun, Acceptable Ingredients: Bottom half of one bun.
Any Questions?
>>9336703
>Layer 5: Extra meats, AIs: Egg, bacon, ham, roast beef, etc.
Take this layer out. You already have a fucking burger patty on there. You don't need that shit. Bacon on a burger is the biggest fucking meme I've ever seen.
>>9336703
I'm confused about Layer 4. Is that where I put my beef?
>>9336709
Kill yourself.
Has anyone had the arbys pork belly sandwich? Is it worth a trip?
Pork belly is nasty too much fat
>>9336586
Beef gyro is bretty good.
>>9336586
it was great but im pretty sure they dont have it anymore
I can't stop eating tater tots. :(
Fat ass
>>9336587
:^)
>>9336585
what are these filled with?
What are some foods for fat/poor college students that are both healthy and cheap?
yogurt, peanut butter, ham hocks
>>9336555
I'll pass on the nasty ham hocks, but peanut butter isn't healthy. Or at least it's only healthy if you work out because it's super calorie dense and I'm way too fat to be stuffing extra calories into me, as much as I love peanut butter.
Are rice cakes cheap?
Beans & lentis, potatoes, onions, chicken, carrots, brown rice. Look what poor people used to eat 50 or so years ago and go with that. With modern access to spices you can create ALOT of things from those things i mentioned.
Forget everything that has been cooked for you (ie.Tins, frozen food), they are nearly always more expensive than the raw versions. There are some exceptions though, like crushed tomatoes.
>Fry spam and pineapple
>flavor with Tabasco
>boil and drain ramen
>mix
>add Japanese mayonnaise
It's just missing okonomiyaki sauce. Buts it's great.
NIGGER what the fuck are you doing?!!!!
>>9336456
looks like it would be better without the ramen, or if you replaced it with rice
>>9336467
I bartered one spam slice for the ramen. I don't have rice.
>Be me
>Working in a restaurant as a waiter
>Couple comes around 9:30 AM
>By then most have left
>They proceed to order a couple of drinks and some food
>They get absolutely smashed
>Laughing hysterically for about ten minutes
>Woman finally comes in to pay at 11:00
>She asks for another bottle of the same wine they've been drinking
>Eyes cross with other waiters
>By then our barman practically sleeping on his chair and most of our staff already went to sleep
>Waiting game insues
>Can't leave them alone due to some safety procedures or some shit
>It's only fair we all stay there
>By 12:30 our supervisor got tired and told us to to downstairs and go to sleep
>Never learned when they actually left
>MFW i was awoken by another soldier 6:00 pm
>>9336438
What the hell kinda restaurant were working at?
>>9336537
Were you*
I used to work at golden corral, there were times where customers would stay forb4 hours, but the worst people were the ones that came at 9:50 ten minutes before we closed and hold up the entire shut down procces, we werent allowed to put any of the food away until they left
What will one coin buy me?
At least 10
onions
one ration
Alright, cu/ck/s, i'm in college now and i've been living off larabars, pub mix, and poptarts for a week now. I can obtain any ingredients I need, and i can use makeshift tools (i've been using sharpened mechanical pencils as both toothpicks and chopsticks this entire time).
What I have at my arsenal:
>drip coffee pot
>microwave
>mini fridge
>clothing iron
>lighter
The only catch is, the room I'm in has an extremely sensitive smoke detector in it, and will go off if there's too much febreeze in the room, or even if there's steam from the shower in it.
I'd love to hear some creative meal ideas from y'all. Some I've done so far:
>sausages in water in the coffee pot
>grilled charlie on the iron
>nutella creme brullee
>rock soup
Again, all ideas are appreciated. The more creative, the better!
just get a slow cooker/pressure cooker/rice cooker in one. can do millions of things with them. dont fuck around trying to be a cross between fred flintstone and mcguyver
>>9336136
that isn't very creative
also i have extremely limited space. i thought about getting a slow cooker, but i don't have the space for it
>>9336136
This, and imagine how much power you will have over the building when you get the place smelling like a delicious 8 hour slow roast.
Look closely class, THIS is how you do it
B A S E D
>>9335975
i would give you halve a upvote for that my friend but you are surely missing the key ingrediants of bacon and sriracha
>>9335989
if i wasn't so broke I'd buy you some gold. have some karma instead
How do you feel about cucumber sandwiches? What goes into a "perfect" cucumber sandwich? Me personally, I like a little salad cream with them, otherwise I find that the cucumber and bread on it's own is simply far too bland.
Also, anyone who thinks cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce belongs anywhere near a cucumber sandwich should be shot. I don't know why the fuck Google thinks this is an appropriate recipe.
>>9335953
i agree about the worc but cmon man cream cheese is standard for tea/cucumber sandwiches
all it needs is butter, salt and pepper. you just like salad cream because you haven't had good cultured butter and seasoning.
Has anyone on /ck/ ever tasted this?
>>9335936
Yes, it's fucking hot garbage, it's my go to shot for relatives and friends when they hit legal age
>>9335987
Why would you give them such an expensive liquor?
>>9336000
I thought we were talking about chartreuse in general, a shot at a bar costs the same as any other liquor
