Does /ck/ ever use applesauce when baking cookies?
I always substitute apple sauce for oil in when I bake brownies.
no only on pork chops

If you want to make easy bread in a dutch oven, just go with a basic "no knead" bread. these two are good options for a beginner!

just knead flour water salt and a little oil together in a bowl...
then in the dutch oven, brush oil in there, then cover with cornmeal. then put the dough in there, let it rise for 1-2 hours, then bake it in there for a while like 1 hour at 350.. the bread won't taste like much, but you can put stuff on it, like beans, and eat it.

and yeast, of course.
I desire a Philly cheesesteak. I grilled out the night before last and made three ribeyes, and still have almost a whole one left. I was thinking about thin slicing it and seering some peppers and onions. Am I about to fuck this up? If so, please tell me. Also- tips on cheesesteak in general.
Side note- I'm not too worried about well done-ing my steak so if that's your qualm, no sweat. I'm already reheating a day old steak so I want it to be something so tasty it'll overcompensate for the lack of freshness.
put it in a freezer for a few hours prior to slicing. you'll be able to cut it thinner. cook onions and peppers first. then the steak strips. use spats to finely chop the steak up into mince. add peppers and onions put cheese on top and wait to melt. put cheesesteak in bread then wrap in foil. it will continue to cook inside the foil for a bit. chop in half then roll back foil as you eat sandwich. this will keep it from falling apart and food getting everywhere

Heard. What do I do for sauce? I'm not a native so I'm fine with provolone but some kinda mustardy cheesy thing would be good too.
Sauce thread. Give me some good sauces to put on random food around my apartment, especially for popcorn. I have a nice teriyaki sauce, could I put it on the popcorn? What do you put on your popcorn?
Embrace the meme
(the chili paste is good too, arguably better)
The Hoisen variety of that brand is fucking disgusting.

I'm trying to prevent it from going moldy, should I freeze it or what?
>>9357997
You should freeze basically everything.
>>9357999
I tested that out but when I thawed the bread it was slightly stale feeling, unless that's normal of quinoa bread?

how the fuck is this official, get the fuck out of my /ck/
So can you actually get your immune system to get more resistant to bad food ? Ever since I've been a kid I've been "training" myself to resist food poisoning :
>Eat food way past the expire date, as long as it's not moldy it's fine
>Even then I often ate moldy food because I didn't pay attention
>Make a point of eating in the shadiest, most ghetto restaurants and food stands
>Never throw away food that's fallen on the ground, even in the street
>Always eat in dirty plates, often months on end
>Never wash my pans, the accumulated flavours can make anything taste good
I've never been sick from food in my life, except once when I ate something red I found in a jar at the back of my mum's fridge after she died, and I'm pretty sure it was either wax from cheese or some kind of rotten pepper paste
>>9357494
Yep. I ate a lot of poorly cooked meat when I was younger, and got food poisoning a shit ton. Then I stopped getting sick from bad meat. It's possible. Also, there's a tribe in South America I think who have built up immunity to cyanide by consuming it daily from a young age and increasing the dose, so I guess anything's possible
>no hiss
>>9357494
Just include some undercooked meat in your diet and you are become /jack/

(Please excuse the faggy website)

I followed the recipe pretty closely, here's the only differences:
>Added Onions, Peas, and a bit more garlic because fuck you
>Used Worcestershire Sauce but red wine would have worked 100x better
>We had spare bacon grease so I used that instead of butter for the initial browning
All around for a half-hour meal with minimal effort it was pretty decent.
Rate my work and try out the recipe and see if you can make yours better.

What's wrong with Budgetbytes? I've never had a bad meal off of there.

You guys have a healthy snack? Ive been trying to reduce carbs so i stopped buying pretzels. Ive instead been cutting cucumbers into circles and putting a little salt and oil on them. Still gives me that salty crunch that im looking for but less carbs, as well as more vitamins. I really do miss my fucking pretzels though...how do longterm dieters do it?
>>9356327
Celery with cottage cheese dip
Or just raw veggie stripes with cottage cheese dip in general.
Take one packet of cottage cheese, put in a small bowl, dice up some chives, mix cottage cheese with chives, salt and pepper, maybe a bit of lemon juice. mix nicely and use as dip for your veggies.
Also theres no long time dieter. Diets are for retards.
Just exercise, dont overeat and as you said, eat some healthy snacks instead of carbs at night.
It should be enough just to stop with the carbs after 6 pm. Just eat regulary before.
Oh and stop with anything soda and sugary drinks.
Just stay with water, tea and coffee and maybe a beer sometimes.
I used to make myself a whole head of cauliflowers, just cut into nice big ass slices from the whole head, put those on a baking tray. salt pepper chili flakes garlic olive oil. put in the oven at 180-200C (around 350F i think) for about 20 min until it gets brown and crispy.
Eat that with a big of fresh low fat joghurt, healthy, tasty, filling.
>>9356346
I like that idea! I already use celery with peanut butter, didnt think of using a cottage cheese with it.
I exercise but havent lately in the fast weeks. I just burned out from the heat and feel like i havent been seeing any progress in either muscle or running times. I run 2 miles and have been at 20 minutes for like a year now. Im also getting depressed again about being a neet for 4 years. I only drink water, coffee a few times a month, and beer at parties, that and sugar in general is not a problem.
I want to learn how to cook, but I want to be somewhat methodical in my learning. Are there any good textbooks that teach more of the concepts behind cooking rather than just straight up recipes?
>inb4 go back to /lit/
No, cooking is an exact art and a subtle science at once. If you wish to read up on it, read on baking and the chemical reactions that affect it. Cooking is done to taste so you can hardly learn from a book as there are many variables

I can only got full on foods I enjoy, no matter how much I eat of something I don't like I never get full.
Is this normal?
>>9356197
no, you have diabetes
also wait for your food to digest before shoving more in your face you fat fuck
>>9356201
I don't have Diabetes though?
I'm broke and only have last resort shit and I'm starving every day encase it's shit.
I have a massive box of generic frosted flakes(no milk), ramen, hot dog bun PB&j, and canned vegetables.
I get paid Friday but it's miserable.
A normal day for me is a lunch meat sandwich, bowl of soup, and TV dinner(usually turkey or meat loaf)
I don't even drink soda.
>>9356212
That's not much. I'm 120 pounds and I'd be hungry if I ate so little.
