Would you be willing to eat raw chicken?
After recovering from a recent bout of diarrhea from consuming undercooked frozen chicken that reads a little like creepypasta to me.
>>8669883
That's an adorable story.
I'd definitely try it, but that guy's description of it as anticlimactic is not surprising. I mean.. unseasoned cooked chicken is one of the blandest things ever.
Why don't Japs have the same mental block towards eating raw meat that westerners do?
No. Raw fish is generally very tasty, as seafood is generally best when at its absolute freshest. I don't even like the texture of raw chicken when I'm handling it. I'd hate to stick that in my mouth. Chicken needs to be cooked. And I trust uncooked land animals way less than I trust uncooked seafood.
What is a good restaurant to use this at?

Try bold A1 sauce. or Worcestershire sauce mixed with a flavor Tabasco. And add in some black pepper for some fun.

Do places like this even exist anymore? Just average joe greasy spoons selling normal people meals for normal people prices.
Everywhere I go it's either..
>neglected, tacky asian family business
>franchise
>bourgeois management drone hell
>inauthentic "authentic" hipster shithole designed to rip off millennials

waffle house you fucking child.
>>8669400
Went there last night, got an all star special, with large hasbrowns smothered covered diced and peppered. Was way to much food, but damn it was good.
>>8669385
Most of the independent family run places like that got put out of business by chains. So independent joints pretty much had to go upscale to survive. If you can't compete with chains for the cheap market then serve better food in a nicer environment at a higher price and attract the folks who'd rather not eat at a chain and have the dough to pay for better. I wouldn't call it a hipster ripoff. It's just going upmarket to survive.
Ask a Serb anything about Balkan food
There are a LOT of young tourists coming here and I suspect a lot of it has to do with the food since we don't have much of anything else to offer.
It's not that bad a place to visit if you like meat and bbq. You can get a 250 gram burger stuffed with smoke cheese and bacon for 2 euros, or get a platter like pic related in a restaurant for 10-15 euros.

That chillie is fuckin huge

Being a follower of the ketogenic diet, this makes me moist.
Which one would you pic, doesn't have to be pic related and other flavors are welcome

Tell me /ck/, what is the superior 12oz can shape?
>>8669279
I like the tall can better, but the shorter one is better for car cup holders.
>>8669279
Me on the left.
Shorter one has less of the liquid touching the outside of the can, ergo less heat disbursement. Stays colder longer.
/ck/ greetings.
I am in Spain and i have purchased this beautiful cut of retinto beef from my local butcher. The problem is that im American and i dont speak Spanish, so i cant explain the cuts i like to him so he usually cuts whatever. Now i have this huge steak that i definitely wont be able to eat in one sitting. My question is, how do i go about eating half of this? Cut it raw, cook one piece, then cook the other later? Or cook it all now and just save what i cant eat? Of course ill cook it medium rare with just coarse salt and pepper. All advice is appreciated

>>8669290
Ok so cutting it now is best. I just dont which cuts i can get out this bad boy.
>>8669278
It's a chuleton. They broil it to medium rare and slice it up and people can finish slices on a hto as fuck earthenware plate if it's not done to their liking. It's usually for 2 people at least.
My advice would be to get a nice crust in a pan and then finish it in teh oven.
Do you forget the cost of alcohol in a bar?
No, I find the bar staff are pretty good at reminding you.
Monetary or health costs?
>>8669271
that's an interesting idea.
if you could pay for things with parts of your health (instead of money), i wonder how many people would.

Please tell me what to with this. For what recipe is it a necessary ingredient? Or famous for? Should I make fried noodles with it? It seems to be too strong flavoured and weirdly flowery to use it as a substitute for soy sauce.

>>8668791
I love...
>Any dry-aged cut cooked to a perfect medium-rare
>Standing rib roast / prime rib of beef with the good crust
>Tenderloin with some kind of crust-- be it herb or bone-marrow-- cooked pink
>BRAISED OXTAILS IN A RAGU
I could go on. I love beef.
>>8668791
How flyover are you? The moral outrage over veal was an 80s and 90s thing. It became passé when everyone realized how silly it is to worry about baby cows when the entire factory farming apparatus is cruel as fuck
Obviously giving up ALL beef was not something people were up for, so the drama became a quaint relic of a naïve age
