Is this actually good? There's a Hells Kitchen episode where Gordon gets served it and he mocks it in front of the whole restaurant who also laugh at the idea.
But when I google it, there are a ton of recipes for it. I've got some romaine lettuce to use up, so is this worth trying?

It'd be pretty good with olive oil and salt
>>9388277
To me leaf lettuce just doesn't have much of a taste on its own so no. Lettuce is just a conduit to deleiver dressings and toppings to your mouth that would otherwise be weird to eat by themselves
>>9388277
It is soggy lettuce. Always.
The only acceptable way I can think of serving that and charging for it is if it's grilled like in OPs pic and then hearts removed. But then you're stuck with hearts that aren't cut and you have to chop through them with your cutlery. Bullshit. And vaguely grilled flavored lettuce. Why?
>people actually eat food, and drink beverages that are held in styrofoam containers
>people actually eat HOT FOOD, and WARM BEVERAGES that are held in styrofoam containers
this is darwinism at its finest
>>9388251
If your genes are weak enough to be affected by warm things in styrofoam, you deserve it
>>9388251
I like it when I reheat something particularly saucy and it kinda burns into the styrofoam and makes that hybrid paste you can kinda scrape out with a sideways fork
i pooped in a styrofoam cup once.
it looked like soft served ice cream.
Did beef ribs the other day. Too bad it's impossible to get ribs with any meat on them in Australia.

A year ago, I asked this board for advice about how to go about making a German style pizza and some of the best meats for it. Of course I got a quagmire of autism about how what I was making wasn't German, but I also did get some actual help with my project. Tonight, I finally got around to doing it with some friends, and pic related is how it looked after putting the finishing touches on it. I want to thank those of you who helped for making this pizza as amazing as it was (Kasseler is a fine pizza topping, as is Nuremburg Bratwurst and others)
Anyways this pizza is made with a homemade pizza crust, and does have mozzarella cheese on it as a base cheese. That's as American as this gets.
The toppings were a sliced white onion, Thuringer Salami, Kasseler, Farmer's Bratwurst, Nuremburg Bratwurst, and Nuß Schinken.
On top of that is homemade Spätzle made with both sparkling mineral water and milk for a lighter texture, and drizzled atop it is a homemade beer sauce with some Emmenthaler cheese in it (Ok, Emmenthaler is Swiss, but was still good), using a German Whitebeer as the base for it.
The crust was stuffed with frankfurters and some leftover swiss cheese. I intended it to be like a Pigs-in-a-Blanket deal, but it turned out better. The pizza crust was enough that it was easy to turn it into a sort of pizza crust hot dog bun that you can put more beer sauce or mustard and/or sauerkraut into.
Sorry for gushing, but that pizza was a long time coming.
Anyways, what did you guys have for dinner?
>>9387877
Also, here's a sideshot of the pizza, you can see the frankfurter and maybe some toppings under the Spätzle.

I know right? I didn't get around to it until now because me and my friend's schedules didn't mesh for that long.

No weekend dinner dates for the wagies.

haha nice meme :DDDD
you will eventually get fucked by doing that
How pointless is doing a Bartenders degree/course at an early age? (age 19-25) ive heard people saying its not really a carreer and not something to focus on.
So how useless is being a qualified bartender? rate on a scale from 1-10 (1 being the equivalent of doing a course in womens studies)
>you need to pay for a license to pour beer and mix liquor
Jesus, government must be desperate for cash and bartenders must be desperate to keep out competition because their job is 10% skill 90% being social
1, however if you had to ask you must be retarded..... Do it.
Yes, And considering the stigma of only good looking bartenders existing, rather exclusive to the more semetrical faced people
Coffee/Tea General
How do you like your brew /ck/?
Also what grinders/machines would you recommend as someone getting into coffee
>Morning
Dark roast, black as night, whatever's cheapest. Throw a couple ice cubes in and chug.
>Any other time
Medium roast, 2 sugar and 2 cream.
>>9387625
Get a hario hand grinder and a press of some description. I use an aeropress and it makes great coffee. If you're lazy you can look into an automatic grinder but that's going to cost you a lot more to get one that isn't garbage. Buy locally roasted coffee if you can or order online if you can't find roasters in your area. Buy whole bean only and stay away from dark roast since a lot of the flavors a lost.
>eat 1/2 of the fries
>eat the burger
>eat the other 1/2 of the fries
Any other order is inferior. Also applicable to sandwiches, chips, etc.
Be still troll.
>>9387457
you forgot step 4
>wash it down with as much soda as you can chug through your straw until something hurts
>not taking a bite of a burger, three fries with a dollop of ketchup and then washing it down with a gulp of Coca-Cola (tm) all in one bite
Plebs, all of you.
Which would you get, /ck/?

Looks like you got the crust pretty thin, not too thick. Need to see underneath for a full evaluation though.
can someone explain fat to me once and for all
I know lobbyists and what not have caused americas obesity by telling us fat is bad, but sugar is fine, meanwhile sugar is the thing that has been making us sick and fat all these years.
now everyone is eating fat again, but does this mean I can basically eat as much fat as I want with no consequences after all? or am I still running a risk to my heart by eating pork rinds and steak all the time?
Your lack of self control is making you fat, fatty
Food is energy. When you don't use it, it gets stored. Pretty simple.
>>9387311
>fat is less unhealthy than sugar
>this must mean its ok to eat 5 cheeseburgers for dinner
Hey guys, I had a jaw surgery recently and I'm on a liquid diet. I'm almost a week in and I want to hang myself.
I have some leftover apple pie, milk, a nutri-bullet, and a blender. Is it possible to puree a slice of pie?, I don't want to waste anything or get my hopes up. Are there any recipes where I can make a similar tasting milkshake? It's very hard to find recipes for this online.
>>9387281
>jaw surgery
with what purpose?
>>9387281
You'd be better off without the crust. It just diminishes the flavor and thickens too much. Start with just the apples and add milk until it's just thin enough to get through a straw. I got my jaw broke and wired shut in a fight 3 years ago just before thanksgiving. I can tell you how to an entire thanksgiving meal in smoothie form. Also go out to panera or some bubble tea place and get yourself a big fat straw.
>>9387298
this guy's a fag blend the crust you'll need it to thicken it like a shake otherwise you'll just have soupy watery applemilk
Hi Cu/ck/'s
I'm a graduate student whose down on his luck financially and recently got into cooking homemade pizza.
Where can I find Mozzarella cheese on the cheap and in bulk? It's my only ingredient that is prohibitively expensive to keep buying.
Dollar store
Well, buying it already shredded is your first mistake. You're paying for the labor it took to shred it, and the wood pulp they put in it to keep it from caking.
>>9387252
>wood pulp
It's arsenic you idiot
