I moved into a house with four roommates recently. We each take one day of the work week and cook for the house. Problem is, of these four people, one is a vegetarian, one can't eat cheese, and another doesn't eat fruit or vegetables of any kind. Is there anything I can cook that can satisfy everyone? I've made some rice, pasta, and potato shit that everyone liked, but I'm running out of options.
You need to introduce legumes: Lentils, dry peas, beans, chickpeas.
You can also introduce other grainy starches: Buckwheat, millet, quinoa, sweet potato, polenta, spelt, etc.
And different kinds of nuts and seeds: Sesame, poppy, etc.
Tell the fruit and vegetable person to move out. At least the vegetarian one has a cheap excuse.
>no meat, cheese, eggs, fruits, or vegetables
Kill all your roommates and eat their corpses. Would be a better dining experience.

oof.
Why is it so fucking hard to find good chinese bakeries outside of SF/Oakland?
Egg tarts are so tiny and always burnt at places like 85°C
>>8862193
Thanks anon, never knew the slant eyed gooks ripped off the french quiche.
Do they bake with rice?
Because during the late 1800's anti-Chinese violence drove Chinese immigrants from the western United States to New York, leaving only large enclaves like the one in San Francisco and to a lesser extent Los Angeles.

No, that's chicken. I gave it a quick sear (the pan could have been hotter) than threw it in a Dutch oven with potatoes, carrots and onions.

As it turns out, I might not be allergic to peanuts anymore. (Still waiting on test results) If I'm not allergic, what food with peanuts should I try first?

There are like two foods with peanuts.
They are peanuts and peanut butter.
Hope you make the right decision.

What animal is gold made from?
>>8861899
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold
"Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au (from Latin: aurum) and atomic number 79. In its purest form, it is a bright, slightly reddish yellow, dense, soft, malleable, and ductile metal. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element. It is one of the least reactive chemical elements and is solid under standard conditions. Gold often occurs in free elemental (native) form, as nuggets or grains, in rocks, in veins, and in alluvial deposits. It occurs in a solid solution series with the native element silver (as electrum) and also naturally alloyed with copper and palladium. Less commonly, it occurs in minerals as gold compounds, often with tellurium (gold tellurides)."
Alright /ck/, I've got the opportunity of a lifetime right in my hands.
Tomorrow I'll have an interview that may give me the position of a sous chef in a renown breakfast restaurant.
Any advice?

Can we get a pork chop thread? I just bought my first grill and am planning am making some tonight? Any tips on how to make a great porkchop? They are pretty thick, bone in.
>>8861780
135 degrees F internal temperature.
>>8861780
Is the girl bone in?
The trick is to not cook for too long, they easily get tough. Definitely recommend cast iron for dat sear, maybe finish in oven
>>8861780
I don't know specifically about grilling, but salting/brining first and not overcooking are two keys to good pork chops.
Question for travelbros/fags who have been to USA and Australia. Or really USA and any other country, but Australia in particular.
If you tried the fast food there, how would you compare it? I used to live in Australia and I haven't been there in a couple years, but I vaguely remember McDonalds and especially KFC having much higher quality food in Australia than USA.
>>8861723
As a burger all I can say is that both Canada and Mexico are a dip in quality when it comes to fast food. However they're both better when it comes to real food and a dramatic spike in quality.
I've also been to Brazil and Argentina but I don't like to talk about it.
I believe it from the KFC point. People love it worldwide, but at least around here in the US it's complete trash. Figure it has to be better.
>>8861734
>i dont like to talk about it

sweet potato
Did you know that sweet potato is a remarkable plant? It’s a staple food of many traditional cultures. NASA has considered it a potential crop to be grown on spaceships for long term missions. In terms of energy production it’s only 3rd behind sugar cane and cassava. It produces the most food value (a combination of edible energy and nutrition) of any crop per unit space and time. A study of Fijian farms using manual labour showed that ratio of energy put into farming vs yield of energy was 1:17 for rice and 1:60 for sweet potato. It grows on marginal soil and doesn’t require much nitrogen to grow. It takes a relatively short growth period of 3-4 months to yield. All parts of the plant can be eaten including the leaves which provide additional protein and nutrients.

Congrats, /ck/! Your boss at the office couldn't help but notice your culinary expertise. Now that the company has bought a vending machine, it's up to you to decide which snacks go inside.
So what snacks will you choose? The sky's the limit (except the snacks must be cheap, individually sealed in small packages, and shelf stable for long periods of time).
>>8861538
>Your boss at the office couldn't help but notice your culinary expertise.
Are you calling me fat!?
>>8861538
More information is needed.
Does the company benefit financially from this, and if so do I get a cut? In this case I'm choosing whatever my fatass coworkers seem to like the most. I'd start picking some pretty generic snacks and tracking which ones sell the best. Under-sellers are removed and replaced with something that does sell better. High priced items like those starbucks coffee drinks and energy drinks are a must-have; those things are profitable as hell.
What the fuck is this disgusting shit. I just watched a video on how to make these out of sheer curiosity and I regret it so much. The idea of mixing sweet waffles with nasty as fuck corndogs is fucking repulsive as hell. Especially with syrup on it. Or ketchup.
Whoever fucking thought of this has my permission to go hang themselves with these shoved up their large intestine.
