They use Phosphoric Acid as a preservative, I don't believe anything can grow or live in it. Since they use so much Phosphoric Acid they need to balance out the taste with sugar. around 65 grams of sugar.

Grocery stores usually have a diverse selection. Look past the Folgers and Maxwell House and pick up something a little more exotic. Find out if there are any roasters in your area and pay them a visit. They should let you try a few different things and you're bound to like one of them.

At some point you'll want to invest in a grinder too. The best flavor comes from whole beans that are ground only moments before brewing.

A standard brewing machine is fine, but there are many other options for brewing. Read up on those and think about purchasing one that suits you. Keep in mind that the ratio of ground coffee to water makes a huge difference in flavor. You might want to start out just by trying different ratios to see what produces the best flavor for you.

Gee no shit, usually at parties or gatherings people will have a beer or two, maybe more. People are just giving you shit, nothing personal. No one cares if you don't drink, just don't be that guy who is alone at a party where everyone is drinking and you're not because "I don't drink". Just fill up a cup with some soda or some shit and be sociable.

It's nothing great, I just use it in recipes. I taste it, but don't resort to drinking it alone, or tasting it multiple times and-- oh look at that the bottle's half gone.

Most people enjoy alcohol. The fact that you don't consume it in any amount without being a recovering alcoholic or something similar is a very strange thing from a social aspect.

I know plenty of people who don't drink for one reason or another, it's fine, but just don't get preachy about alcohol and most people will understand.
