The ones who switch impulsively and will tell you all about it in late childhood or early adulthood seem to fail quickly and annoy everyone around them, but that's just because teenagers are annoying
I know some older vegans who switched for reasons I don't ask about, they seem pretty chill. One of them is a physician in his 60s who has been vegan for 15 years
It was an exotic fringe lifestyle in the midwest when i lived there but here on the enlightened coast nobody bats an eye. Black people and religious minorities seem more drawn to it, for some reason
Disclaimer, I'm not vegan
oh gee another vegan give-me-attention thread

I don't think about Vegans.
Who can guess what I'm about to make?
Bust out some seasoning on dem breasts. I used Tony Chachere's, salt free Mrs Dash, and spicy Slap Ya Momma. Dice your breasts and get your skillet on med-high. Spray with canola oil. I like the spray here to minimize greasiness.
Toss em in. Brown all sides and cook for ~4-5 min.
Get ready to add the sausage.

Is vindaloo the king of curries?
>>8872975
it's certainly up there
>>8872975
I'm Indian and I've never even heard of vindaloo bruh.
Might be a Brit invention.
I like Jalhandri curry but I can't find any info on the ingredients I think it's just a thing at my local Indian place
You ever have anything you dodnt like at first but learned to appreciate later?
Working at a mediterranean place and had one of these. First time i had it i was somewhere between dissapointed and "wtf is this". Then for some reason i started craving them and now im practically eating a few every day. Same shit happened with ipa's every weekend

they give me really weird shits
A Turkish neighbour from years back used to make these for me. The stuffing was not just rice but with meat and was a bit spicy, they were delicious. It pains me that I'll never be able to ask her for the recipe.

>wine leaves (preferrably picked fresh and soaked in a vinegar/citrus/water mixture)
Filling:
>300g bulgur
>150g tartar (traditional)or mince
>a big or two small potatoes that have been cooked fork tender
>onions that have been diced and sauteed till tranluscent
>tomatoe paste
>smoked paprika
>salt
>pepper
Roll the fillings into the leaves, tightly. Fill a pot with them, add water till they are all covered, use leftover leaves to create a sort of lid, slice a lemon and put them on top of your leaf roof, cook for an hour and then on low until almost all water has evaporated, serve with garlic yoghurt
so i fried this and tried to drown it in sauce to make it tasty. this is the second time i eat it and both times it has been fucking disgusting. the texture makes me puke. the taste wasnt very good and texture made me trash over half of it.
so tofu fagets explain yourselves for eating shit cream
>eating food for taste
you'll never be a vegan
Tofu's disgusting on its own but it's tolerable in a miso soup.
'Course vegans can't have this, it's got a sardine broth.
>he's keeping his butter in the fridge
I-it's summer here in this third world tropical country, s-so I have to... or it'll melt. :(

Half in the fridge, half in the butter dish
My butter is from Finland, the fridge simulates its natural environment
Why is it that every fucking curry place thinks it's okay to charge $15 for every dish? Curry should not cost that much. $4 for fucking naan, Pajeet? What the hell?
ALSO
Last time I got curry, I asked for it "spicy." Spicy is one level below the hottest you can get at this restaurant which is "Indian spicy." I wanted to see if I could handle spicy so next time I could try Indian spicy. Well those fuckers didn't put ANYTHING spicy in my curry. Not even some crushed pepper flakes or Tabasco or fucking anything. It tasted milder than mild. I bet those racist shitters didn't think this WHITE BOI could handle spicy curry.
>>8884726
That seems pretty damn expensive, anon. Most of the places I've been to charge $10 or less. The only exception that I can think of is a specific one involving jumbo shrimp that they charge $12 for. Oh, and naans are free with the meal.

be less white and try again
I'm finally going to Doomie's tomorrow. I've literally waited years for this. But I can't decide what all I should buy. What would you get? What would you like to hear a review of?

Definitely gonna try their Big Mac. Thinking about the philly cheesesteak, some kind of fancy fries... not sure if I'll do creme brulee but I guess I will probably want dessert. I want everything, but a lot of it would end up going bad, so maybe like two menu items and a dessert, probably gonna bring home some mac n cheeze too.
Have any of you been there? There's one in Toronto and one in Los Angeles. I'm going to the one in Los Angeles.
Going to a pig save after, so that's why I can't bring back too much food, 'cause it's an hour and a half drive back home and I don't know how long we'll be there with the pigs.
>>8884168
I'd get the philly. But whyyyyy cheese whiz? I don't care if it's classic, fuck thatbpoison. If have the in house cheese in its place.
Two menu items and dessert, expecting to bring mac home? I'd get crispy chicken OR the Memphis burger, pesto fries and the creme brulee.
>vegan food is so good we have to spend 90% of our production on meat gimmicks
Jamie, pull up those eggs from my yard.
>>8881928
That's like 800-1000cal? I wonder how long that lasts him until he needs to eat again.
he seems to always go heavy on the eggs
>>8881964
That's an understatement
Does anyone know the joy of the Clamato cocktail? They are fucking delicious. I quit drinking about 6 months ago and these are a godsend. I make them spicy as hell.
Love Clamato. Makes the best Bloody Mary's.
Damn, looks like it would be pretty salty
>>8881101
You barely pour much of anything, and then seltzer lightens it up. You can stretch out that Clamato forever with it.

What's the best milkshake you've ever had?

1 can of condensed milk
24 ounces of whole milk
4 ounce hazelnut spread
optional (whip cream and coconut shavings)
One I had at some burger place, don't have them often because I'm not an amerishake but they are good.
