Where, oh where is my ita thread, oh where, oh where could it be?
Why... OH WHY would you dress like this in front of Misako?!?!?!
I'll be kind enough and round off with this.
i can hardly wait for the undertale lolita
>i can hardly wait for the undertale lolita
I WASN'T EVEN THINKING OF THIS BUT ANON YOUVE WILLED IT INTO EXISTENCE
desu I've seen one fanart picture of Dave being put in a lolita dress and I would totally do that as cosplay, with a Kanaya clinging to me and justifying it as fashion
this one could look kinda cute sewn better and without those hideous sleeves, but the others here are just >no
are you fucking stupid? that print has no black or brown in it, if she wanted to go for dark she could have gone with blue since it has blue. it legit has zero to do with ap chocolate prints other than being ap as well. why do people insist you have to try to 'tie in your hair color' you don't. there are times it will just plain not match(red hair with most pink) but other than that no, you don't need to make it match or balance out or anything.
Picture edited to cover origin of picture.
when I first saw nightmare rise I thought of rose and would love to see someone try a proper rose lolita
Kinda glad I ended up not going to this otherwise I would have had to witness this monstrosity firsthand and I have a terrible poker face.
As seen on Instagram.
The tags. Just... No.
Same girl. She captioned it "Looking super #kawaiidesu in my #lolita clothes! #sweetlolita #nowig #2kawaii4u"
Fuck my life.
I was just about to post this. God nothing works here.
>skirt is way too short for her
>sleeves are too short on blouse
>wrist cuffs on top of the cuffs of the blouse??
>shitty normie vest for no reason
>clusterfuck of accessories
>no color balance whatsoever
>gross bangs and makeup
>classic shoes for a sweet coord
I was looking at Lolita event pics from previous fanimecons and ended up seeing this, I'm scarred.
Huh, small world. Well, there seems to be some number of lolitas here, I guess most are in the North Island though.
Well time to start drawing some
>Dress: Atelier Pierrot Minuet OP
>Shoes: American Duchess
>OTKs: Grimoire Verum Princess
>Necklace: Moss Marchen
It's a fuckin tragedy. I love all these brands but damn, she spent so much to look like shit.
Current ita-crime in progress
>girl at my local craft group has discovered lolita
>someone mentions that I sometimes wear it
>girl demands I wear lolita because she's never seen a lolita dress in person before
>it's the middle of summer so I bring a few dresses to look at but not wearing one
>she insists that my "petite little girl figure" is perfect for lolita and she is too fat and curvy
>she just has big boobs and an hourglass figure which only helps a petti imo and I'm a tall flat skelly
>try to tell her that there are dresses that would fit her just fine or she could buy a replica, I've seen girls bigger than her fit into nice coords
>she refuses to listen about buying actual lolita and insists she's going to make everything
>she shows me her redxblack design of an incredibly bustled $2 metre costume "chiffon" monster
>horrified but try to gently suggest that it looks okay but it doesn't "follow the rules"
>she insists I teach her "the rules"
>try to explain that it's a modest fashion, showed her some GLB's and pointed out that shoulders should be covered, socks/tights worn, toes covered, point out that shoes are doll-like and often covered in cute details like bows
>she insists she wants to follow "the rules" and shows me photos of the shoes she's intending to wear
>they're peach pink (to go with blackxred dress) high heel platform shoes
>she says she's going to wear stockings to cover her toes, so it's okay and the shoe is made out of ribbon so it'll work great for lolita
>everyone is fawning over the shoes so I mumble an "okay" and put my things away and change the subject
>she isn't listening and just talks over me anyway
>she also has a full face of piercings
>She's going to a con soon and hopes to see "real lolitas".
>pic related, it's similar to the shoes she's wearing.
had something similar happen to me once
>random girl comes up to me fawning over my coord
> explain the fashion
> she wants to be a lolita
> give her my contact info, websites to check out, a brief intro to the rules
> go away with stars in my eyes dreaming about the new lolita friend I'll surely soon have
> she emails me later that day saying she went to websites I gave her
> she loves the black and white ones
> attached pics of bodyline lace monsters
> try to right by this girl and send her pics of old school coords
> she doesn't like those
> she prefers the black and white ones
> try to gently steer her away with how lolita is about quality and poor materials make for poor outfits
> she never contacts me again
> saw her on the street a few months later wearing shitty bodyline from the 'seperates' section with a shitty dollar store 'asian' parasol
> backed away before she saw me
> I tried Anons
> I tried
I will probably take progress photos of her making it over the next few weeks during our craft sessions. Then again, if somebody sees her and shows her these posts she'll know it was me so...maybe not.
It's always really sad when you genuinely tried to help someone.
I understand being ita when you start out (especially in like 2008,) when you're the first person you know that's getting into Lolita. You don't have anyone there who can correct your mistakes easily.
But when someone who actually knows the fashion well willingly gives you help and you still ignore everything and look like a lacy trash bag? Most embarrassing behavior.
Yeah, I agree.
It's okay to be an ita at first, we've all been there.
When a girl ignores advice and insists on wearing the shit dress that someone has advised against, then fuck it.
Post dat shit.
I don't think she'd look bad other than her hair and the shawl. The shawl obliterates any chance at a nice silhouette because it turns her into a giant blob with a frilly skirt attached.
That said, it's fairly fucking casual, and I love that particular OP from AtPi, and the shoes, so I'm not horribly offended by the outfit.
Honestly, it's her pose that makes this look bad. If she stood with her feet closer and stood at an angle, this would look a lot better. Of course, she could stand to lose the bag (although I'm sure it was for practice purposes), do her hair and maybe put on lipstick/nice eye shadow.
#lolitafashion #handmadelolita #plussizelolita #sewing #handmade #selfdraftedpattern #gothic #gothiclolita #oldschoollolita #effyourbeautystandards #ootd
oh rabbit no
OT, but has anyone using the tag #effyourbeautystandards ever NOT looked obnoxious and gross? Like is covering your natural appearance in ill-fitting clothing, tattoos, piercings and badly dyed matted greasy hair somehow required to fight society’s/the media’s/the patriarchy’s evil beauty standards or what because I never got that memo
It's not surprising considering #effyourbeautystandards was started by Tess Holliday, the obese "supermodel" who is extremely obnoxious and gross. She scammed a bunch of her customers, committed charity fraud, and photoshops the hell out of her pictures despite her entire career being based on "body positivity". Great role model. Not surprised rabbit likes her though.
Why do people even ask this question anymore? One of them literally say "wa lolita" on the image. If it's posted in this thread it's safe to assume they were tagged with "lolita" in some way.
It's too short for that dress, that's all. The last like 4 inches of that dress aren't supported at all, so the fabric literally just hangs there.
Buying a longer one would work, but in the meantime, she could try pulling that petti down around her hips instead of her natural waist. It would still look off, but not AS off.
Statistically, I'm smarter than most of the population. I only gave chocolate prints a mention as an example of pinks and browns looking cute in sweet. You gulls spend so much time insisting on colour balance to the point of wigs being regarded a necessity, I thought tying in hair colour was a compromise by comparison. Lord knows I get told that I shouldn't wear x because it clashes with my hair.
This girl is in my comm and a really good friend of mine so of course I'm going to defend her. I'm sure this picture is from years ago and I must say her current coords look nothing like this. Everyone starts somewhere I suppose.
>implying mana did anything other than force this shit name onto the fashion
>implying mmm is even relevant anymore
>implying japanese don't call him a 'she' cause he's a drag queen and not just a disgusting piece of shit.
I saw a cringe compilation with this in it once and I think the story is, she was with a guy, they had a fight and she hit him with her parasol. Police were called, she struggled with them, tried to hit them with the parasol and then was taken away.
As funny as that would be I don't think that's what happened. I'm sure that the man at the front is this guy my nan used to fancy http://thebill.wikia.com/wiki/Mickey_Webb
So this must have been from an episode of The Bill.
There are plenty of 45+ year old women in lolita. You don't notice most of them because they aren't into social media like the younger crowd. I believe the lady in the photo is older than 45.
I fully intend to still be wearing lolita at this age. I didn't wait my entire life to find out the clothes I always dreamed about were real and buyable just to stop when I reached 30.
clearly this isn't lolita but her using a high waist lolita skirt as a tube dress is fucking cringe
fatty chan can't figure out why the skirt looks so weird on her
anon please get a handle on your autism/bait
"Professional photos of lolita fashion"
These give lolita a bad name
All my non-lolita friends think this is lolita
>"Do you see? You were wrong anon chan, this is lolita"
Personally I've been told not to wear certain colours because it clashes with my skin (brown) and asked where is the black in my coord because my hair is black. So now I literally don't wear anything unless it goes with black (like reds) or is black because I don't want to wear wigs. What's worse is people are more sensitive about wearing black shoes now more colours are available than in old school days, so I can't just have black shoes to balance things. This happens quite frequently. People tell you wear a wig purely because it could better match the colour as one of your pieces. I'm shocked how it's accepted to tell people their skin doesn't match their coord, let alone hair.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm meant to be wearing the clothes or it's the other way around.
Not that anon, but we have a couple of 40+ women that are active in our comm and they are very well-liked and well dressed, and don't try to act younger than they are.
It's honestly always pretty nice when they show up at meets.
Whoever gave you that advice was retarded. As long as you stick to dark colored wigs, dark skinned girls look great in lolita. Especially in colors that lol bad on other people like yellow
Thing like light pastels can look washed out if you're really dark skinned, but people telling you to tie your hair color in is bullshit. Ignore that, you're wearing the clothes, not the other way around.
Honestly? I don't feel like I've got very much in common with my community. Most of them are 10 to 20 years younger than me, and at different places in their lives.
I've only been to a few meets, and I'm not all that active on social media. I don't have a tumblr, and I don't spend a lot of time on facebook. Cgl is my guilty pleasure, and it keeps me up to date on any major drama or scammers in the lolita community.
This is supposed to be sailor lolita. G+ is a goldmine.
Perhaps you should wait with wearing Lolita till you have enough money saved up to buy everything you need or when you are financially better off.
There is no shame in that.
Lolita can be a very expensive hobby, not everyone can afford it.
I was looking at some paranormal tag
I'm sure this was posted a while ago but I was lurking Facebook and I just found this.
Every time we see nouji we learn how to become more aristocrat like ourselves, but sometimes there are too many flaws to learn and we post these in /ita/ thread.
