Now that there are amazing plus size dresses, where can we get a good plus size coat? Bodyline is too thin, and FanPlusFriend wants too much for their also thin coat. MAXICIMAM has very cute ones, large sizes but it looks like it will only be good for fall.
Dumping gorgeous plus size lolitas to contribute.
>inb4 "there are no good plus size lolitas lolololol"
pls, we've had some very good threads until they get derailed by shitheads. if you want to complain about fat people please feel free to make your very own thread.
This girl's coord is just my absolute favorite. I hope I can coord it as well as her if/when I get this dress.
You can clearly see she is just super busty.
You don't want to see plus size lolitas, don't look at this thread.
Same, I'm not even fat but I have a broad frame, large ribcage, muscular legs. I can't fit into anything that isn't shirred/partially shirred. I feel so huge compared to tiny framed girls.
Okay.. Sorry, I guess I'm just seeing some of these images and bawwwwing because some of them just look like average girls. Like
Don't scream "fat!" to me. But I don't want to derail the thread, because I'm sure I'm just a fatty myself and don't want to admit it. I'll see myself out.
Same anon. I got down to a healthy body weight and I was still stuck to full back shirring even though I looked pretty much on the average side. I put on about 20lbs and I see girls way chubbier than me and I'm over here wearing binders and maxing out my shirring forever depressed.
Also all your fat going to your upper body sucks as well. My legs and thighs could use some filling out. I wish I could just squeeze it down like toothpaste. Maybe then my dresses as well as pants would actually fit.
Wtf, she's average sized and busty. She's not skinny, but she sure as hell isn't plus size.
I could see it if she had a chubby face, bustier, chubby arms, thick legs, or, hell, at least something, but this is just an average sized white girl. This is in the healthy range.
There are so many fatties to choose from, I think some anon(s) might need glasses.
I have giant calves. It's the worst. No brand socks for me. The most annoying this is a large portion of my big legs are muscle. I have giant muscley legs without doing anything. There is fat sure but even if I lost the excess weight, the legs are still huge. Life is suffering.
I tried using a binder to see if it would help me fit a non-shirred Jsk. My husband damaged the zipper trying to zip it up. Doesn't help at all, even if my boobs are flat, my rib cage is just huge.
Does make me angry when I see fat girls fit into things I can't but fat can be squished and bones can't.
Sorry for misleading anons with this photo, I remember I had a happy bell coord photo and I forgot which one it was. It was actually this one I was thinking (pick related), realized after i made the post. Even though this one isn't super plus size either (they are stock photos from meta), she has an adorable chubby face imo. <3 And the Happy bell set is great for plus sized girls or busty girls. I recently picked it up myself from yahoo auctions for 4500 yen!
>But in normie clothes dressing with a pear shaped body is the worst
No, having the body type with skinny legs and a full bust/stomach is the worst. Nothing looks good, at least with a pear shape you can fill your pants and have a relatively trim middle so that you can wear fitted shirts. Even when I'm skinny my ass is flat, my boobs are big, and my waist is wide because the distance between my ribcage and hips is like non existent. So enjoy your pear shape, if could be a million times worse.
Like was said before in Normie fashion they'd be medium-large but lolita has different standards. None of them are exactly pic related.
I guess it really depends on how plus sized you are anon and what body shape you have. I recently took a chance and bought myself an AP coat and it was even an older item since it had the older style tag. I've always been wary with older AP since I feel like the sizing is a lot smaller then it is now-a-days. But it arrived and fit thankfully.
I am very peared shape however with about a 90ish bust and 80ish waist. But my hips/butt/thighs are big and I always have to go for plus sized leggings. I think pear shape is easier to get away with in lolita where as apple shaped girls have a much harder time
Very plus sized girl but she dressed very lovely.
Other Anons have said, and I agree, that this would look better with a bolero but on the whole it's a cute coord.
I think you're missing the point. What is being said isn't that they are bad lolitas rather that although they may be average sized in normal clothing in lolita they are considered plus sized.
>Yeah I'm just salty that I'll never have twig like legs.
I feel you so much, gull
Not the anon you're replying too, but ugh I feel the exact same way. Im medium sized so I fit into basically any JSK and most OPs, but it means I can't wear cute brands like Liz Lisa. I'm thinking of losing 10 pounds just to fit into some smaller brand. I don't think of myself as fat and I don't dislike my body, it just doesn't do me well in lolita
the max waist for this jsk is 73cm, I wouldn't consider that plus size by any stretch of the imagination.
Diff anon but do you mean in Japan or elsewhere? I need to reread my sources, but as far as I'm aware. Lolita is considered a plus sized girl kind of alt-fashion over there. So if anything, I'd say its average.
Question: Does anyone else find that strapy shoes like mary janes and t-straps are unflattering on their chunky legs? I am not plus-sized, but, as others in the thread have mentioned, I'm a pear shape, and have disproportionally large legs compared to my upper body. I find that strapy shoes, particularly flat shoes like mary jane flats and tea parties, are really, really unflattering on my legs and accentuate my thicker calves. I guess it has something to do with the way they "cut" my leg off at an unflattering place. I typically wear simple mary jane pumps, as too much embellishment tends to bring attention to this problem area. For the longest time, I just wore ballet flats because, even though I knew that wasn't following the rules, I just couldn't bring myself to wear tea party shoes that a) gave me clown feet and b) made me look twice as wide as I am.
At this point I feel like when there are these threads answers to these questions should be included since they ALWAYS get asked. Anyways:
Some taobao stores such as Miss Point
Fanplusfriend (although they bumped up the custom fee significantly)
Fantastic Dolly or Dream Sky?
I own fantastic dolly and it maxes out around 88-90cm or so. But that's an underbust measurement. I know this particular cut of Dream Sky wouldn't really be considered plus size. But then again their chiffon items tend to be far larger than actually listed. I know the OP said 96 cm bust, but I have a friend who was 115 cm in the bust and it was nowhere near pulling the shirring and chiffon into oblivion. I was at 98-100cm and it was extremely roomy. Other AP chiffon items I own are like that too, and tend to be the most comfortable. Probably figuring if it stretches too far it'll damage the fabric. Even though I've put on weight my fat ass still isn't close to ripping out of the chiffon like the Hulk.
I was wondering if the JSK was more forgiving than listed. I really like that cut better than the OP. I want to get back to my goal weight and measurements and was wondering if it'd be worth a shot.
oh well for fuck sake! 90% of theese ladies are normal sized and shaped, sure some other are more curvy or do I dare say big, but most of these ladies are average. Cant we just accept that whites usually runs a bit bigger than asians due to bone building and other factors? Rants over.
We all know asians are smaller anon, and most of us "plus sized lolitas" don't consider ourselves plus size outside of the fashion. I have an average body and huge boobs, but I'm proportioned well so I fit into the curvy label more then anything. But for lolita I have to use the same resources that plus size gals use, so why wouldn't I call myself a plus sized lolita at that point?
I have horribly thick calves and normal ankles and its not really the straps that make it look bad its the flatness. I actually find flats more unflattering on this kind of leg.
Heels or heels with a platform make my legs look much nicer. Even if they are strappy, the platform and heel elongate your leg and make it look less bulky.
I'm one of the people that got posted in here and I agree with >>8823279.
I'm nowhere near plus size in normie clothes but I do sometimes struggle with lolita clothes. I have many dresses that fit but things like blouses and socks/tights are a struggle because I have thick arms and legs. I can see how I would be labeled as lolita plus size.
To be fair I'm betting most of these aren't even plus-sized within lolita fashion
I'm short so I look fatter than my tall friends who are larger sizes, I look like about half the girls here despite easily fitting in brand. There's a weird idea of if you look chubby you won't fit in muh tiny japonnese fashion, when it's not taking into account actual measurements or height
Either you are plus-sized or you're not. Not being able to fit into dresses made for tiny asians doesn't make you fat. You wouldn't call someone fat if they didn't fit into kid's sizes.
No one actually thinks that most of these people are plus sized in any other context. It's just a label used for convenience. It's really not a big deal.
Can people shut the fuck up about it now?
Just wish she had a different hairstyle. The braids look so thin and sad.
>This. You're just enabling their shitty lifestyle choices.
so true, pear shaped thick girls can look hot (spoony) but these poofy ass dresses aren't flattering to fat girls
looks like the girl that turned into a plum in willy wonka
I don't understand the point of these threads
Like people say it's for advice and share inspiration. But questions or advice don't get answered and having a separate thread for fatties shows they're not normal, post these on COF or general threads, why is a separate thread needed. There would be an outcry if there was an underweight thread and it's the exact same idea, both aren't healthy.
It's easy to not be fat, if you want to be fat that's fine I guess, but you all act like it's not your fault. Being "average" by western standards is still fat desu
You're the ones who are doing this to yourselves. If you truly thought this fat garbage looked good, half of this thread wouldn't be fatties trying to defend why they're not really actually fat. Fatties look and are miserable, I know, I was fat until about 19 years old. My mirrior neurons are firing reminding me how disgusting unhealthy and miserable fat was.
This is a serious health epidemics spreading worldwide and you're crying because the truth hurts. Grow up and get yourself some help. You're not going to get better unless you want to in the first place. But I can guarantee you that your health will definitely suffer if you choose to keep sticking your head in the sand
>You're not going to get better unless you want to in the first place.
And you fail to see the irony of going in this thread and telling everyone how they should lose weight. Literally no-one cares. If they want to lose weight, they're probably already trying, and if they don't, you calling them ugly ain't going to do shit. See >>8822205 and >>8823076
not sure why these always get infected with weight loss discussions. Unless the individuals are unhappy or want to lose weight, references to weight loss are pretty off-topic.
It seems like everyone's afraid that plus size is a horrible slur and girls are too horrified to be touched by it.
A plus size lolita myself, who will always be plus sized according to loli standards (wide shoulders, tall as fuck, and busty), it's become a fun challenge to find items that fit and flatter my bodeeehh. I love this fashion.
Can we just post beautiful coords--no judgments, bodyshaming, or creepy and unnecessary would-hug/would-bite/huuurf-I'd-bang affirmations?
can't decide if pearl accessory at waist should be moved to a different spot or just scrapped all together. cute overall.
Hello fellow marshmallows. Pic related is my dream dress, and until recently I thought it wouldn't fit me. Someone with my measurements says that it fits them and they want to sell it, and I guess I have a glimmer of hope, even though I'm skeptical about it being a replica (and I definitely don't want a replica)... does ANYONE have any experience with this dress? Can it stretch to 104 cm bust and 87 cm waist?
Looks like a young Big Les. Please don't shit up the thread.
Had a friend insist I try it on a few years back when I was 104cm bust and 85cm waist. Had to force it up and it was far, far too tight. I was honestly scared of ripping it. Sorry anon, it's a no go.
Any gulls try corseting to fit into a dream dress?
I currently have a 32inch waist, which is a few cms out of reach for most of the dresses I like.
I'm thinking about ordering a simple corset from Timeless Trends to lose some inches and overall enhance my lolita silhouette. Has anyone else tried this?
Timeless trends' corsets will actually add to your measurements because they are extremely thick. They are best used for creating a nicer shape, but they add about 5-6cm to your measurements. My dresses usually always have more stretched out shirring with my corset on under it.
You'll probably want to go for a much more expensive corset. I had some sites bookmarked awhile ago that would work, but I forget the brands. They're in the 200-300 price range. Might just be better and more cost effective to just cut back a little or get a monthly gym membership for a few months or something to loose those cms.
Not that corsets aren't awesome. But it's better to be at a measurement you like and can maintain and THEN get a corset then spend a lot on something that will be formed and shaped to your body, then lose the weight and have to get another.
Go hunt down the Jabot version or look for the tote bag and expand the shirring panel in the back a little. (taboo, I know). The Jabot cut goes to about 110 or so. Some people have said 130 but hahaha no fucking way. It's wearable but snug on me at 108 without my binder.
Why do you want to wear a corset? Are you willing to go and wear it for a few months to cinch down to whatever you will need to? Are you willing to spend a good amount on something that will fit you well?
There is also the fact that not all dresses will look good paired with a corset, on top or underneath. Some dresses are too thin, some have clashing waistlines, and if you get into the issue that your rib cage is stopping you, it takes months of waist training to deal with that. Corsets are not some easy go to for being smaller.
In addition to this anon's post, go find a local corseter. They'll be shopkeeping at cons and ren fairs if they don't have a brick and mortar or online shop.
Have a pro size you, which will generally be a couple sizes smaller than what you might pick for yourself.
Remember: If it doesn't have waist tape, you don't want it. If it's not a trainer, you don't want it. If it says it's a trainer and it has plastic boning, you don't want it. If it has plastic anything, you don't want it.
If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
Fashion styles are also a waste if you want functionality over form.
Best online corset I've seen, and I'm super picky, is this: https://www.orchardcorset.com/corsets/steel-boned-underbust-waspie-mesh-corset-cs-201/
Please don't use a binder if you're a bigger girl (100+ waist), it makes you look boxy and horrible. Even though my waist is 85 and my bust is 100, I wouldn't consider wearing a binder because I'd be boxy and disgusting. I'd rather custom sized dresses. Though maybe I'm lucky because I'm classic/gothic and don't like most brand dresses.
Honestly wish she would just stitch some lace onto the sleeves of her bolero.
Does anyone know her shoes? I have this skirt.
Is this the aatp lucky pack jsk from 2014?
Don't think this girl is plus sized, but wondering what the dress is anyway?
Sorry for the question, I've been building my wardrobe for the past year, I just want nice things that fit me.
Also so many of these girls aren't plus sized. Not in non-asian standards.
Also I'm so salty about all the angel of music JSKs in this thread and I'm pissed because mine is somehow too fucking big and I want to cry because I don't want to sell.
It literally gapes at my waist and I look awful in it.
