Old thread is saging
This thing showed up to an event in Austin and called herself a Harajuku Fashion Lolita. Before, she got offended by a few who told her what she wears wasn't Lolita or Harajuku fashion and won't shut up about how everyone in the fashion is bullies and wants to do Lolita her own way.
Dumping a few from the Tumblr tags
> uses they/them pronouns
> wears clothing that is categorized as feminine
Someone didn't get enough attention as a child
All the elements of a good coord are there, but the fabric looks really costume-y.
Posted in Lolita Updates too. This is the second one this month, it is not the place for bloggy bullshit.
Not OP but she isn't from the area. She lives in San Antonio, which is an hour and a half drive from Austin. I'm in the same comm as her and her "cosplays" and "lolita" are cringy and it doesn't help she thinks she is top shit, especially in the cosplay community.
I came here to post this haha. She shits up the local comm every now and then with posts like "how do I make friends in lolita because I am anti social"
Not sure if ita handmade bonnet, or just bad picture. Hmmmm....
Nope, never seen her at a meet. I think she's in the whole 'all lolitas are elitist bitches' mindset, and she seems too busy trying to mash together being a furry, buying cosplays, and wearing lolita into one weird mess. I think she's just too edgy for us, ha.
I thought we had the six month rule?
Yeah I get that vibe. But I'm glad we shot that dress down pretty hard.
Such a special snowflake.
I only know one other girl in our comm who posts here and I'm wondering if it's you.
Thank goodness. There's at least five of us that I know of that post here, but you never know
>Here's a Doll Delight monstrosity to keep things on topic.
your right- the diamante cat ear headband, earmuffs and pink headband, plastic Claires jewelry, rib-jersey fabric top and anime badges aren't a strong enough indicator that this outfit could be ita.
Dropped my picture goddamn.
My poor poor eyes, wtf was she thinking?
> Horrible quality wig
> fucked up makeup
> those ears????
> the salopette doesn't fit on her at all, too short and sits at the wrong place
> the socks are too short for the short salopette and her horrible tattoos
> burn the shoes on this coord
Could is the operative word here, without a full body pic we'll never know. Also anons informing us of their special snowflake pronouns reeks of vendetta. Unless there is proof they dress like a train wreck they have no reason to be in the ita thread.
>> the socks are too short for the short salopette
Agreed and they aren't even socks- they were Grimoire knock off tights which she turned into socks, which begs the question WHY?! because surely tights would have been better with a salopette? Maybe they were too short as well?
>could clearly fit a petticoat
Anon, have you ever even seen a dress with no petti? There should be way more gathers for it to be able to fit a lolita petticoat. Even my super low-poof Moitie has twice that amount of gathers.
If she dropped the cat ears I don't think it would be too bad of a coord. Far from perfect but it wouldn't quite be ita. Didn't Infanta release some cat ears that matched that dress? She should get those instead.
sure is, it says 'information' on the big background thing and there's an emergency exit sign.
not sure what you're worried about tho, it's not like Russia = Somalia or what have you
>I'm more worried about that she wore it to school in what seems to be RUSSIA
You should be more worried about those daily school shootings you've got going on. Russia's golden by comparison.
The deeper pink in the socks isn't good, but it's not ita level.
Nothing is wrong with the shoes. Why do you say that?
She embellished her headbow weirdly, but it's not awful.
Her standing on books has nothing to do with her coord.
I think this is more of a nitpick than ita. In my opinion itas spectacularly fuck up everything. Feel free to disagree.
I always feel upset when I see photos like this posted to this thread. Not because they aren't ita as fuck, but because they look like they're having so much fun together.
sage for ot
This is from a fashion show where a designer who sometimes designs lolita was showing her gothic and steampunk stuff. The show was in a goth club and so the models and everything were styled accordingly - it's not meant to be a lolita coord.
sorry I have no idea wtf happened
I can't quite decide if this outfit is ita enough for the thread. But the posing is making me cringe like crazy haha
Is it bad that I actually kind of like the girl on the right's outfit? I mean, not for lolita, ofc, but I think it would be a cool costume for an event or something. Very saloon girl-esq.
Was there ever a moment when Victoria Suzanne didn't look questionable? Too preoccupied with her super speshul super unique pink hair to think up decent coordinates.
It's been so long since she was last relevant, jeez.
Found this pic of the OP picture. She has an unfortunate face and the wig doesn't help it.
And yeah you should feel kind of bad unless you have very bad eyesight and can only see a vague silhouette or something. She looks like she jumped into the costume bin of a shitty neighborhood's thrift store and wore whatever stuck.
I saw this girl at Anime Austin Launch Party this past weekend. She was so loud and obnoxious and kept speaking broken japanese. I feel bad for the girl she kept following around at the beginning of the event, she looks really uncomfortable.
Praying for anyone who is going to Miku Expo in Dallas since she aparrently won tickets to it.
dysphoria is a serious mental illness, but having breast dysphoria has nothing to do with gender or pronouns.(being trans is more than just dysphoria) you didn't need to add that because no1curr and you're being an attention whoring brat.
I know this isnt a conventional 'ita' picture, but its certainly painful...
I couldnt look beyond the face
>glassed over eyes
Sissies, dd/lg sickos, and other gross people steal non sexual photos of lolitas and other girls in jfash all the time. See pic related. Found it in the sissy tag on tumblr
>tfw she's 22
>i coorded better than that at 14
>she can't even put her wrinkly cheap skirt right
And she said she wants to own Dolly Cat...Gosh, it rustles my jimmies to see that. She can't even coord some basic bitch bodyline print.
How some girls coord SO badly is beyond me really.
In our comm you need to attend a meet at least once every six months.
We used to be a pretty small and tight comm. But there's been an influx of itas and "I've been a lolita for years but it's expensive so I don't own any uwu" so the rule was designed to help weed them out.
I hate Stefonknee so much. I'm so pissed that she's started using the word "brolita" and I'm so scared that we're going to have a creepier Canadian brolitajenny on our hands one of these days.
I wish I could find the picture of the bodice. All of that beautiful dramu has been deleted now, though.
ah yes. This woman infuriated me. At the time she was much larger than me but still somehow managed to shove herself into my favorite dress that I myself couldn't fit into without ripping it. FUCKING. HOW?
I have lost so much fucking weight and I still can't zip the stupid thing up without someone holding it together for me around bust level. I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY STILL HOLY SHIT, I FORGOT.
I was looking for something on tumblr and stumbled upon this mess.
Nope, that's the JSK. She also posted pic related which shows the incredibly strained seams on the bodice.
>implying flats are "beautiful"
Why the fuck does casual mean throwing on some random normie shit on for some people. You're just gonna end up looking like a 5-year old or a mad woman.
Just choose simpler items that still fit the style, a cardigan with a little bit of lace, small heels with a bow detail, IDK. It's not that hard to look cohesive, jeez.
Anon pls no. This is a man in his fifties who gets off on dressing up as a little girl - actual mtf people would never use the term "sissy" and wouldn't consider themselves a brolita. He's using the trans label to make himself untouchable and get SJWs in his side just like Melissa did.
Poor Canadian lolitas, having to put up with this creep. I hope he never comes to a meet.
Didn't she wear this to her husband's niece's birthday party even though he asked her not to? Oh, pinkzombies. How I miss her and her ita creations that she for some reason never wore herself...
I am only a casual delver into lolita, and have lurked the fashions for about 10 years now and lemme just say you bitches are nitpick and hypocritical as fuck to give this look shit.
What exactly is your complaint here, oh wise loli-gurus? Literally the only thing I can see is that she doesn't have anything to cover her clavicle. You bitches need some perspective into the history and foundation of the movement before you start shitting on stuff thats NOT MY RORITA DESU.
Try harder next time, and maybe pick a better example. Doll Delight is shit, and pretty much everyone agrees.
can you articulate to someone who isn't part of your insulated circle-jerk as to what is actually out of place (for a lolita fashion) that can't be applied to most lolita?
>muh board culture says doll delight is shit!
I don't know or care about that brand, but that picture is not in the slightest bit ita. You guys sound like the very people that are insulting lolita in general. I am not saying you have to like that coord or whatever, but don't post it in an ita thread and start circle-jerking and expect not to get called out.
i dont think its a weight thing, i think its a boob size and type of bra thing. have you tried a sports bra or a binder? she might be wearing a type of flattening bra or just simply has smaller boobs then you.
By DollDelight standards that dress actually isn't that bad. The design and construction both look fine but like practically everything DD makes, the fabric choice ruins it. It's not as obvious here but I'm sure that if we got to see the print up close it would be a mess. I will never understand this girl's taste in fabrics.
Aside from that and the fact that her shoes are at least two sizes too big, this one actually isn't that horrible. People just have a gut 'oh honey no' reaction to DD because she normally churns out monstrosities like pic related.
>by dolldelight standards it isn't that bad
It's still ita by any other standard, though. The sleeves and skirt really kill this, imo.
Everything she makes looks like a milanoo nightmare with slightly better but equally weird construction.
>fabric and trim choices
>weird construction details
>those sleeves and shoes
Also, why does she wear lenses that make her eyes look like soulless black pits?
If you think this is "good" or even okay lolita, you have no understanding of what lolita is.
You have no real criticism other than
>this I just NO
>ugh I dont like this either
WHY is it not lolita? Why does it not work? I can understand >>8821146 point because I don't know about this particular brand and was just going by the image. I can believe they probably are usually sub-par.
>you have no understanding of what lolita is.
little girl I was in the community before you had your first period. I may not be a deep diver into the subculture but I do keep up with trends in magazines and lemme tell that, THAT coord is miles ahead of the kind of shit that was popular not very long ago.
I know some of you girls are autistic, and follow your math of;
Jumper (vetted brand) + Blouse (vetted brand) + tights&shoes (vetted brand) + matching accessories released with Jumper pattern = Solid & Safe good lolita fashion
Woe betide anything that doesn't fit your (ageing and dying) traditions or, since Burandos are 80% of your game, a company you don't like.
Grow up and learn to like things, you guys are making lolita incredibly boring and its the same shitty prints, styles, and coords year-in-year out.
It's more of a nitpick but
>weird fabric choice
>really busy print
>sleeves are too opulent for the rather simple skirt
>bows on bodice clashing with print
>lace on tiers of skirt doesn't look good
>shoes don't match at all
>shoes are way to 'casual j-fash' for OTT classic coord
Not really ita, but really nitpick. I like the construction of the bodice though. The coord ist just really unbalanced.
not the anon you're replying to, but if you can't see how dolldelight's designs are terrible it's not just a matter of you not understanding lolita but also having a general lack of sense of style
>using too many clashing patterns
>busy print+busy design
You honestly sound like one of those retards who think that ~le brandwhores~ hate good indie and handmade.
DD isn't disliked because she's not a major "vetted" brand; it's because what she produces looks like shit, from a lolita or normie fashion perspective.
Also, no matter how much you keep flaunting ~how many years~ you've been spectating the fashion, your newness (or total inability to grasp basic concepts) is showing.
So you have been researching this fashion for years and you still have poor aesthetic sense?
What a waste.
>gets explained to multiple times why DD (and that coord in particular) is shit
>"Y-you have no real criticism!! You're all autistic little girls!! I've been observing the fashion for ten years!"
clearly never actually learned anything in that decade, jesus christ, or maybe you should have been focusing on learning some reading comprehension. is your menopause acting up?
As someone who's ACTUALLY been into this fashion for 10 years: DD is shit. This coord is shit. By modern standards, by normie standards, by oldschool standards.
This dress wouldn't really work even if made with plain fabric, but the busy print sends it straight into eyesore category. The design is supposed to be opulent but the laces used are all cheap and plain. The construction isn't that great and those giant sleeves throw it all out of proportion. Ribbon color clashes with the pastels and isn't properly incorporated as a contrast element (not that this mess would need any), seems like an afterthought. Shoes are clunky, too big for her feet and too modern, completely wrong for the rococo feel it tries to invoke. Would go with different legwear too, and maybe added a delicate choker.
Is that clear enough? You're probably trying to say "how is this any worse than ott sweet" but that only shows you pay very little attention to detail which is against the very foundation of lolita. I remember when screenprinted pieces where the hottest newcomers and striped socks were all the rage but man, I accepted that fashion changes, flows and evolves. I suggest the same for you.
>Woe betide anything that doesn't fit your (ageing and dying) traditions or, since Burandos are 80% of your game, a company you don't like
Do you even actually lurk? Or do you just pop in every other year to take a quick glance and go "yup, lolita still exists"? Because you apparently missed a hundred new companies blossoming. Korean brands, Chinese brands, a ton of indie. A lot of them put out pieces just as coveted as Japanese burando. We got introduced to new silhouettes, huge variety of accessories, surprising color combos, multiple j-fash styles even mixed together.
But yeah, sure, it's all just burando fullsets and snobby elitists, hun.
At least she's on the right track. That jsk and socks look decent, needs a blouse different shoes, flattering makeup, style her hair differently (natural hair can work in lolita but something just feels off about hers), and headwear. And to not make weird faces in photos
Lurk more instead of making an idiot of yourself at least.
>"how do I make friends in lolita because I am anti social"
>"I am anti social"
>those fake bleeding self harm marks
Puke outfit aside I want to fight every single person like this in the yard
tired of newbies who think they're the shit
I'm just tired
The thing is, lolita has evolved a lot and where something years ago would have been ok based on lack of resources, there is no excuse now. So things that were mediocre then are ita now. Also the things that were considered ita back then, the super cringey ill fitting monstrosities, are mostly extinct now because people are more knowledgeable about it/we have more resources for good cheap lolita, therefore not as much material like that is posted.
>What exactly is your complaint here, oh wise loli-gurus?
It fug homie.
I never post in these but this just truly made me go "WTF was she thinking??"
Jesus fucking Christ just how old is this girl? I feel like I could be sent to jail just for looking at this
Indeed. She was so very proud of herself for not having a second meal the night before she got the surgery. IIRC, her husband took her out to eat at a restaurant and she didn't even get ice cream on the way home!!
YES. THIS FUCKING PICTURE. oh my god.
That's exactly what happened, kek.
there was a girl in my comm who wore sneakers to a meet because she just had surgery and could only wear certain shoes I guess. granted, if she wore those because she thought they were kawaii then yuck, but now when I see people in sneakers I wonder if it's because of something medical and they were just wearing them for that moment.
then again, if I had to do that I would probably request photos to cut my feet off. oh well
More people need to spread awareness.
I'm not sure if this should go here or the regresty thread...
This looks like some DollDelight bullshit
Are you the bitch who made a lolcow thread for her despite that there's literally no milk other than "boohoo I think she's ugly and she gives bad advice"?
Sell it on the internet
I seriously don't understand why anime producers/manga artists can't go to Harajuku to do some field research on what lolitas actually look like. I saw at least 20-30 lolitas in Laforet alone on a Saturday afternoon.
Are there any anime characters that can actually be considered lolita? All I know is that Stocking is damn close, but her dresses are too short, and her default outfit can be nitpicked to shit
Anna Kushina from K Project is probably as close as it gets but her outfit could be nitpicked too.
Rinko Ogasawara from Shirobako. They even did an episode talking about how she got into the fashion. There's this really great scene where she imagines a baseball team that all dress in lolita.
>dress is a replica of sugary carnival
>ratty hair (or just a cheap-ass wig)
>random bear hat that doesn't fit the theme of the dress
It's not quite ita, but it's definitely a really bad coord.
not anime, but yaya from othello wears lolita. i remember cringing when nana ruins one of her dresses to wear it in a metal concert.
most of her dresses were better than that one
Why? You think wearing this outfit in public for everyonento see is different than having a picture of it in the public for everyone to see? Not our fault your self esteem is shitty.
Do it anon, if it is as good as you say then you have nothing to worry about. And to the girls posted, if this was your first meet, dont feel discouraged, if you felt good in your cood then don't let these salty anons ruin your day. Everyone starts somewhere and many of us have been posted here at some stage or another.
Nana is so cringe. Lolita komplex is a pretty good band but for fucks sakes I kek so hard knowing that she is the gimmick, least talented and most replaceable member of the line up.
"Waaaaahhhhhhh. One of my friends thinks I look like shit so I need this taken down!" Nothing is truly private on the internet hun, learn a lesson while you're here to help you look better.
That secretary blouse and hottopic tights
This gives me flash backs of when I stared in 2009
