>(like "that" one anon that is reposting bad coords for drama and calls everyone fat)
"that" person hasn't been here in awhile from what I have seen.
also bump limit is 320, the other thread is still getting bumped looks like.
>>9380699
If you hover over the "replies" it says in brackets "bump limit reached"
Last thread had some makeup questions that weren't really answered so have some byojaku inspo
All rhythm games (DDR, beatmania, stepmania, RockBand, Project Diva, PaRappa, etc.) are allowed, but no LL please. They have more than enough for their own thread.
I've wanted to cosplay a DDR character for so long, but I haven't exactly settled on one. Alice seems to be the most popular. I've also wanted to do an all same-character but different module group from PD. Those feels when no other rhythm gamers are near you ;_;
>>9380228
I've wanted to do a Pop'n Music for years so I feel you anon.
I think you're more likely to get interest and responses from posting this on a Facebook rhythm game group or something because arcade rhythm games are a pretty niche interest.
Both the /cgl/ and the bemani community are pretty brutal so good luck.
Also what the fuck do you mean by stepmania cosplay? How is that even possible
>>9380980
I...don't know why I ever thought of that. I'll give it a shot. Although since these designs are fairly simple, I know I need to step up my game on how accurate/clean they are. I feel like I'm up to the challenge. Thanks for the encouragement.
Also....I'm not sure, I was quite sleepy while typing that out so I think I was just in my feels to a fault.
Really want to do a Cheer Reader from Rhythm Heaven Fever but nobody knows that game.

How can I make a light-up sword like this with limited skill in electrical shit?
Best I can figure is to cut out a hollow blade from some clear plastic, and run a string of fairy lights through it.
>>9380097
>Best I can figure is to cut out a hollow blade from some clear plastic, and run a string of fairy lights through it.
that works fine. Sand the sheet on the inside before you glue it up to diffuse the light, and attach the fairy strings to a metal/wood/whatever (clear pipe would be best and just stuff them in there) rod that 'floats' in the middle of the blade.
>finished building EVA foam sword
>deciding if I should spray it with Plasti-Dip before I prime and paint
>try it on some scrap foam
>doesn't look like it's sticking
Did I dodge a bullet? I'm afraid that the wood filler I patched the cracks with will chip off if I paint straight on top of it.
Is it just me or are you gulls sick and tired of hearing about art theft from Hanueli?
I don't really consider tattoos being art theft because anyone has the right to tattoo whatever they want on their body, imho. HOWEVER, that being said,,, I get why she was so mad about it in the first place bc she is the artist. But srsly tracking down the girl who got the tattoo and fucking stalking the tattoo artist?? Aint that going too far?
TL;DR Sick of reading about Hanueli vs those internet art theives,
>>9377488
>Sick of hearing about thing

You have a right to have you jimmies rustled but your logic seems kind of weird.
>>9377490
lol. true, but this whole hanueli vs art theives saga has been going on forever. and it seems like any time any commentator ever disagrees with hanueli, her army goes after them. How dare anyone disagree with haneuli?
>>9377488
I'm really upset over this too. I really liked the skeleton dress she made and have considered buying from her in the past. As an illustrator, anyone who places your work on their body is trying to honor your work. Most artists want to have this kind of fandom (some even want fan-fic or porn parodies). If you have that, you've basically made it. Hanueli basically said "Fuck You" to her biggest fans. For that, I can't and won't ever buy from her. It's not a cultural thing. No person OR company does this. Its beyond tasteless and not what I expected from her. I could have understood a few days but it's over a month (feels like 2)

Readded the brand and models list upon request. If someone would like t help update it or ideally take it over that would really be great. I don't have much time to do so now.
Also again sorry for being late.
What brands have stuff that you like this season? Personally I'm really digging Eatme and Honey Cinnamon, while Mon Lily and Bonbon are a pass.
>>9373094
Eatme is by far my favorite this season. They always have such nice, sleek designs. Some of them could be great workwear, while others have a little bit more flare. I think it's just a solid brand all around and they really know who they are, while some other brands *coughmonlilycough* seem to be losing sight of that.
Agreed on bonbon. Bonbon was novel when Risa first became fashion director or whatever her title is, but since then they haven't really innovated that much. Most of the time they just rehash the same designs, tweaking them in minor ways each season. And their quality has been talked of to death, so unless they release something amazing I don't see the appeal. I own some of their stuff and honestly I don't wear it much...
I feel like Ank Rouge always has some good staples, but I've bought so much from them that it gets kind of samey samey. But if you're looking for some filler they're always a good bet. Not like Mon lily which has sort of gone off the deep end. I don't know WHAT is going on with their designs lately. Some of their stuff is still cute while others just look ugly or cheap.
Honey Cinnamon is also great for staples and they've had some cute stuff lately. Their new set ups are pretty cute. I'm glad they seem to be pulling back a little from their more overly cutesy designs.
I still like Fallin's stuff but I'll probably never wear it so I'll pass. There are other brands but those are the ones I pay attention to. Other than Very Brain, which I just stare wistfully at from afar.
The last thread died >>9302880
So am I being stupid, but I have ONS selection and I'm going to trace the short sleeve blouse (the one from ONS1) pattern but I can only find one piece of the pattern on the sheet. I don't read japanese so I can't tell if I'm supposed to be using pieces from the other patterns or something?
>>9371599
Did you check the numbers? Each piece has a number associated with it, and they're along the pattern sheet to help you identify. You can check the number on the small picture of the blouse on the same pattern sheet you're using. They're most likely using the same pieces for the blouse and another thing (maybe the dress?).
or post a photo of the pattern sheet so we can help you.
I think a pastebin should be done with some compilation of patterns and tips.

lol bullshit
>>9370147
Well, aside from the one gift swap thing it was pretty drama free. As in we didn't end up with three threads filled with mud throwing. Although I have to admit I've been a bit absent from the last thread due to some personal stuff.
>>9370158
The gift swap thing probably wasn't even about the Dutch comm. At our meet all the handmade stuff except one thing was pretty great, proud of my comm for once. Cheers to the organiser for finding a free location.
We all love giant robots. Anyone working on a mech suit?
Any tips on how to do the extended arm or the LED around the body? Or what materials to use on the inside or outside, I'm really new on the armor suit territory
>>9366266
As you can see on the guy on the left, the wearer's real arms usually exit somewhere from the body and then enter the costume's arm from the side. Not sure if that explanation made sense, but I'm sure you'll understand by looking at some pictures.
But even doing this, your own hand probably won't reach down to the costume's hand. So attached pic is one solution.
An easier alternative to the whole arm/hand fiasco is to just place your arm down the length of the mech's arm, like you would with any normal costume. Your arm will probably end around where the biceps on the mech ends. Run a PVC pipe trough the forearm, and grab onto it with your hand. You can now move the pipe with your hand, creating a fake elbow joint. Of course, the costume's hands/fingers won't be mobile if you do this.
>>9366277
I'm planing on making a Gorilla like Mech, with arms as long as my body, do you think this will help?
>>9366377
Just do whatever you think will be most feasible for you and suit the costume best. I gave two ways to extend arms, but I'm sure there are other techniques.
Do some googling/research and really make sure you know what you're going to do before you start buying materials or anything. Good luck :)

PAX East. Lets see who is going. Who's taking photos? Who's cosplaying?
I'm cosplaying some old shit.

I bought a Saturday pass, but I'm thinking about selling it because I don't see anyone talking about it or scheduling shoots for it.

creative redesigns welcome, too.
What cosplays or costumes are you working on right now, and what would your dream cosplay be?
Right now, I'm working on a Skulduggery Pleasant costume, which I have almost finished and am intending to wear to the GX Australia Convention (I read somewhere on here that it might not be that good, but meh. There are other cons)
My dream cosplay would be to make an Mindflayer cosplay, with the robes and the latex mask. For those who don't know what an Mindflayer is, they look like pic related.
currently working on Black Lady
>>9398645
How much do you have so far?
I'm working on the seperatist from CSGO but at 5'2 and thin as a girl it's been rough finding fitting jackets and pants.
OP here,
I am an idiot and missed the Dream Cosplay thread that's already up.

Newcon aka Anime PDX is an anime convention in Portland, Oregon. The convention head has not only cheated guests and individuals out of payment every year, but they have also personally gaslit, cheated, stolen from, attempted rape, and defrauded people in the Portland cosplay community.
The convention is committing payroll tax fraud, misallocating funds on purpose. In addition, they recently switched from a "nonprofit" organization to a "for profit" organization, but are running under an expired business license. The convention head is embezzling money from the convention by using the Newcon PayPal for his own personal banking/fun money. He has made a living out of dodging lawsuits and leeching off of innocent people, leaving them in the dust when it's time to move on to the next group.
Every time when under enough pressure as to why the fuck Newcon hasn't paid their bills, the convention will issue an excuse that retreads the same half assed apology about disorganization, citing "miscommunication", and that they are a "young convention" of 6 years. This is a pattern of behavior, and they're going to keep at it for as long as they can. The convention will only pay once it's threatened with legal action or actually sued.
Since the last thread, artists and vendors are canceling tables, the Portland Lolita community has boycotted future attendance, guests are backing out, and an executive has quit. Keep the momentum going, spread the word, don't let this convention continue to steal money.
Report the convention/convention head for tax evasion/fraud through this link: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/how-do-you-report-suspected-tax-fraud-activity
Is anyone friends with Michael on Facebook and knows how he's actually reacting?
>>9397954
I saw two of their "apologies" for not paying people and it's mildly disturbing how they were written years apart yet are almost identical.
>>9397975
If I know him, he's laying low and finding an exit strategy.
