Who's going to the AP Tea Party in France next month? I'm a little bit nervous as it'll be my first tea party also my French is not so good...
>>9536384
Don't worry, the designers and half the models probably don't speak french, so everyone's lost in translation.
If you had to describe lolita in a couple of sentences without talking about the clothes or the rules, what would you say?
I am trying to cosplay as The Penguin, but I cannot for the life of me get the monocle to stay. Is there some sort of trick to it?
Spirit gum. Use the help thread.
>>9535166
Could you really use spirit gum on that though? I thought that really only worked for fabrics.
Super glue
I'm going shopping in about a week or two, and was curious as to which "J-fashionable" (?) clothes you gulls found in normie shops/thriftshops. I'm afraid I don't have anything to contribute. I don't mind which style it is, although I'm very fond of Lolita, larme kei and mori kei, yet I'm simply curious as to what has been found and how those items of clothing have been incorporated into J-fash coords. No cosplay please.
What do you look for when shopping irl? Do you alter your finds? How did you incorporate them into your coords? Share your finds!
I found a nice skirt that was so full that I've used it in coords.
When looking through normie clothes, I often look for blouses and skirts.
>>9530686
Do you perhaps have a photograph of said skirt?
>>9530679
I've found sweaters that I've been able to use or modify for lolita. My favorite is a green sort of v-neck sweater that sits perfectly to show the collar of a blouse under a jsk or with a skirt. Its deep emerald color that works well with a VM skirt I have.
I've also found a couple button up cardigans that I've hemmed so they stop at my waist in white and mint.
Has anyone here placed an order from CosplayInspire.com? They also go by CosplayField on EBay. I am about to order a bunch of props for my costume and don't want to drop monies down on shitty China made craftsmanship.
It's a China-based website that only accepts Paypal or Western Union.... you're going to get China quality.
>>9537991
yeah but some of those China based cosplay props good aren't that bad. CosJoy on Ebay props are pretty decent. So, am wondering about this company. Overall, I am seeing all these China companies using the same photos to advertise the same props.
>>9538005
>I am seeing all these China companies using the same photos to advertise the same props.
Because none of the photos are actually the prop you're going to receive. This is common with online Chinese sellers of any goods.

I am going to be a mentor next year at my student association, also known as becoming daddy. The new members which are assigned to me are my children. The theme that we should use throughout the entire year, but mainly during the first month of introduction, is video games. Mario, Pokemon and Tetris have already been taken. Does anyone here have any good idea's which game we could represent besides Zelda? I have a very hard time coming up with good idea's so it's always worth trying to ask /cgl/.
I have no experience making props so I'd probably have to buy it somewhere else. Same goes for the girl who will be mommy. We have a budget of about 40~60 euro max. I assume the children are willing to spend between 15 ~ 30 euro.
I've looked into The Legend of Zelda, I can buy a broke ass 50 euro Link costume, Mom can buy a cheap ass Zelda dress and the kids each get a minish cap + a different prop for each (potions, milk bottle, bugnet etc.)
Also, the idea just needs to be cool or funny. We will drink and party a lot in costume so making something really fancy is probably not worth it.
What the fuck is wrong with your student association
>>9534095
This is pretty common where I live, last year the theme was villians of Disney. A lot of associations do this ;)
Is lolita just clothing to you?
If it is, (why) do you call yourself a lolita?
What makes lolita clothing more special to you than just a pair of rare/expensive jeans?
Have you ever read up on the subculture, history or influences of lolita or did you never care?
lolita is just, like, clothes, man.
>>9533665
>t. uncultured swine
>>9533655
I think lolita is a fashion with subculture elements that heavily revolves around clothing.
I think barely any lolita really only buys and wears clothes and that's just it. Most girls also try to incorporate the kawaii frilly aesthetic into other parts of their life, they like to read posts about lolita, seek out tutorials, communicate with others online and many even meet other lolitas (essentially strangers that just dress the same).
I think deep down there is more to it, portraying the cute self you always wanted to be and such.
Starting off, can NO one get a Miku wig right? Or her ballgown?
Post pics of lolita weddings, engagement shoots, dresses that look bridal, whatever. Just wedding lolita.
