I saw a thread like this not too long ago, but I can't find it in the catalog now. ITT we share pieces we are trying to sell and help each other price them.
To start: I have this meta jsk in black. I paid around $80 for it on yahoo auctions and was going to sell for that price as I just want to get rid of it. However, I've had a lot of lolitas tell that it's rare and their dream dress etc. so maybe it would be worth raising the price a little or doing an auction? To be honest, I'm not sure if anyone would pay more than $80 for it
>>9267682
this long ass paragraph and you couldn't type out the name of the dress so someone can actually help you?
>>9267684
oops, sorry! It's the rose flocky high waisted jsk
>>9267682
At least do 100 since it would cost that much for shipping and SS fees. It's your dress, personally even though I like meta I think that is really ugly and will be hard to sell. There's a skirt on y!J in that print that has been relisted for as long as I've been stalking auctions in depth lately
Just over a week away, anyone excited?
If not for the location, I'd say it an average con at best. I love the area though, its fun to just walk around. I'm honestly more excited about exploring the city than the co itself.
Also, I hate time zones, the con is 4 hours away, but it will take me 5 hours to get there.
>>9264622
Crazy that people from that far away come to my 10-minute drive con. Cosplaying this year? I got super busy, so I won't be able to as I didn't have time/money. Look forward to after dark every year though.
>>9265302
I'm an artist. I did very well selling there last year and the hotels in the area are cheap, so its great con on the business side.
I might cosplay, I need to fix up the cosplay I have since right now it is garbage.
Well now everything around the con center is on fire.
Can we get a thread on casual J-fash and K-fash?
Will dump some nice stuff I found in previous threads like this.
exactly what the title says
>>9263692
awww but she's having a panic attack poor thing can't you tell from her typing?
Is this girl serious with these prices?

i had no idea that site sold foreign brands, how did i miss that this whole time? is it a new feature?
>tfw always obsessively click every link on a page and still somehow missed this
Can anyone explain to me why so many people spent 140usd to get a ticket for omnia vanitas when they haven't even announced a brand guest?
>>9261397
Yeah they sell more than one brand, including their own. I know there actually are a lot of brand sites that sell things outside their brand, Listen Flavor does too but they ain't lolita
dropping my own (happy release day gulls)
Old one hit bump limit
Just found this "steampunk mermaid"

Jnig and her FakeBoyFriend showed up as stupid Hello Kitty Reapers.
>>9246864
Damn that looks good. Did anyone go? I want to see other costumes.
I went, saw an out of town lolita, and got a lot of compliments on my itabag.
Overall, was a great con with lots of great cosplays.

Opinions on going to cons as your character?
pic not related
>>9240817
Long as your kit/garb isn't shit it's actually pretty cool IMHO. Did it once or twice, and at one of the biggest cons here we even get our own zone to set up, which is usually a tavern and an arena.
Also, how do I git gud at fighting? I'm somewhat decent but I want to be, like, REALLY good. Any specific tips or drills I should do? Videos I should watch?
System here is HP based, not by zones like the american one but you try to make the fights look the best you can-usually inspired by historical fighting, movies and not-too-shitty games.
Supercon announced their dates to coincide with TBCC and AFO next year. Thoughts? As well as there being some free Ultracon event and Space Coast Comic Con next weekend, Animate! Florida, Treasure Coast Comic Con, and PalmCon.
Is Shadocon big enough to get mentioned in these threads or is it considered local?
I'm going and have a few friends going too.
>>9165301
>>9165301
Four big-huge cons (including Metrocon) on consecutive weeks. TOTAL middle finger to all the dealers/artists/attendees who usually support a number of these every year. Sure, attendees can visit each if they want, but if you usually attend them all days, now you have to decide which one you will, if any. And, if dealers are big enough, they can man tables at two or more of them that weekend. What about the artists, though? If they usually sell at two or more, they will make less profit since they have to stay at one all weekend.
The only event that gets a pass is the one that announced their dates first. The rest are just interested in screwing the others and attempting to kill them, since they most likely could have scheduled for dates in June, earlier in July, or in August.
I find it amusing that someone was complaining on the Supercon event page that everything has been moved to ft. lauredale and Supercon was just super passive aggressive in responding to them.
Moving the date to coincide with TBCC and AFO is also a dick move since they've always had their event on the 4th of july weekend.
I'm annoyed about having to travel for every con now but oh well.
>be at local comic con
>be dressed as Ash from Evil Dead
>my friend starts jeering at me, says I'm too chicken shit to enter the cosplay contest
>WhateverHoe.webm
>sign up just to prove her wrong
Add. Details: we were allowed 15 seconds each on stage, so naturally, I was planning on saying Ash's "bubblegum" line
>contest rolls around they call me up
>get on stage
>"I'm here to chew ass and kick bubble-...."
>realize what I just said
>see friend covering her mouth, fucking eyes the size of dinner plates
>I don't even finish, I just walk off stage and go to the bathroom to wait it out
>mfw I didn't go to anymore cons wearing that cosplay ever again
Kill yourself.

Contestants are up for Arda's next round - including Katie Blair. This should be fun
>>9271481
>Katie Bair
Jesus there's a blast from the past. Th is will be interesting since it looks like she's funneled her store down to fake raver dreads and her old cosplay wigs were kinda questionable compared to today's standards. Her Shiva was on point from what I remember
>>9271489
just peeked at her Etsy - she still uses those awful and cheap bulk filler fibers to make her dreads
>>9271489
>>9271497
Yeah i remember how hot shit she was in 2004, 2005 - rightfully so, most people couldn't style wigs for shit - but any middle level cosplayer today is turning out stuff that's head and shoulders above her work. Hopefully she's continued to work on her techniques because caulk isn't a regular ingredient anymore.
There's three returning contestants this round, which is weird. I don't understand why they'd invite this dude back after how hard he choked in the final last time... most people didn't think he deserved to even be there, iirc
Attempting to bring this back. Whether you're a cosplayer, lolita, into another form of Jfash, or just interested in the con scene or getting into these hobbies, feel free to post here and find friends.
Please note this is not a hook-up thread, and please keep things /cgl/ related. <3

This thread's relevant Strawpoll: Will you be going to Retrocon, Terracon or just staying at home?
http://www.strawpoll.me/11710879
Alright gulls, to start this one off allow me to ask you a question: "how would you describe your perfect convention and which events would you consider a must?".
>>9264334
wait, but can you still participate in march if you're not going in december? because if not that's fucked up.....
>>9264749
Winning during the Xmas competition gives you a guaranteed place in the finals. While they didn't put it on their site (or maybe I'm just too sleep deprived to notice), I'd assumd there will be another round at the March edition of DCC to land you a spot in the finals.
