It's like they never learn. BTW hotel regs go up tomorrow. Not even comic con is this ruthless.

>non-refundable, non-transferable badges
>Hotels go up before AA confirmations are sent
>No separate hotel block for AA or Press
They really just want to screw everybody over don't they?
>>9272111
Also not to mention announcing registration the DAY BEFORE and not even having pricing information readily available. What a shitshow. i'ts just straight up embarrassing at this point.
My friends and I decided to skip out this year and try going to AX instead.
>>9272116
With all the content AX has there's no excuse to go to Fanime. AX charges a lot of cash but at least you see where it goes.
Fanime rakes in a ton of money but the con does not improv one iota.

The 11.11 rush is over and soon the 12.12, Christmas, and New Years shopping will bring the already slow international mail to a standstill. Have you gotten your holiday orders in yet?

Those are little sauce bottles for bento boxes. Forgot to order some last time.
How do you feel about modifying lolita (or other j-fash) brand items? Would you purchase an item that has been modified? Have you modified brand (or gotten a professional to modify something for you)? Any success stories or horror stories?
>>9261024
Personally, I've turned a couple bows that were tacked down into removeable bows (added a pin to the back of them) so that the dresses would look nicer with cardigans/boleros over them but nothing more dramatic than that.
My general philosophy is to only make modifications that are easily reversible in the rare case that I want to sell something. I've added extra ruffles to skirt hems or made detachable bows like >>9261025, and I've had tailors take in the bodices of a few dresses.
So long as the mods are well-done and would result in the item fitting me better than the original would have, I'm not averse to buying modified pieces,
Extreme modifications (e.g. turning a jumper skirt into only a skirt) elicit a knee-jerk reaction out of me because the ones I've seen have been badly done by amateurs. But little things like adjusting straps and taking things in sounds reasonable to me.
Angelic Pretty is huge and I'm really considering getting some things tailored for a smaller fit. Don't plan to sell so it's no big.
Old one vanished, none in catalog so new makeup thread
I really hate most of the things considered glamorous right now (contour/highlight, winged eyeliner, highly arched gradient brows, overdrawn matte lips, etc), can anyone recommend some makeup channels or tutorials that aren't like that? The only two I'm subscribed to right now that fit that criteria is Kawaii Pateen and Tati.
>>9255315
bump
I love Tati so much, but unfortunately I love a full on glam look, but not for cosplay/jfash. I don't sub to many on youtube, but I'm sure you can find some! Please share when you do :)
How does everyone feel about the Venus palette?
>>9255315
Pony Makeup and Stephanie Nicole are two that I'm subscribed to. Stephanie Nicole isn't much of makeup tutorials, but more makeup reviews. She's the only youtuber I trust 100% on unbiased reviews, especially since she isn't sponsored by any of the products she reviews.
>>9255780
I think that's just her personality; her humor is pretty dry and I don't really think she tries to act nice like most others do. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's a breath of fresh air, since I get tired of watching youtubers put on this huge quirky/cute/etc. persona. I also like thataylaa for foundation reviews, if that helps show the kinds of personalities I enjoy watching.

Basic Western Routine:
>Cleanser
>Toner
>Moisturizer
Starter Asian Routine:
>Oil Cleanser
>Foaming Cleanser
>Moisturizer
>Sunscreen
Some basic tips:
>Introduce Moisturizer first. As much as you want to introduce a cleanser to clean, a moisturizer helps control oil production
>introduce one product, two weeks at a time
>Unless starting BHA or AHA, you should not be getting new breakouts while introducing products
>YMMV always. Just because it worked for others, doesn't mean it will work for you.
See below for some product suggestions
Basic skincare products are:
Cleanser: Cetaphil, CeraVe
Toner: Thayers Alcohol Free Witch Hazel
Moisturizer: Aloe Vera gel, Cerave PM Cetaphil moisturizer, Eucarin
Asian Beauty Starter Pack:
Oil cleanser: DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil, Banila Co Clean It Zero
Second Cleanser: Hada Labo Foaming, Cerave Foaming, Tosowoong Powder Enzyme, CosRx Good Morning Gel
Moisturizer: Cerave PM, Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream, CosRx Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream, CosRx 92 Snail AIO
Sunscreen: Biore Watery Essence, Shiseido Senka Anti-aging, Canmake Mermaid UV Gel, Biore Perfect Milk
As always, YMMV. Just because other people like it, doesn't mean that you would

Sunscreen. Find a body one or you can also use one for the face but you would run with the issue of super tiny bottles (most are around 50ml)
>>9236889
Kind of have to think that serums are there to target specific issues. Brightening seems to be the next go to if you don't have a lot of acne desu
>>9237696
Honestly, either one would be good for you to start with. You really need a moisturizer though and the Cerave PM is a good one to start with. Your cleanser might be a little too high or rough for your skin too, iirc. I would switch to a foaming or a gel cleanser. If you feel that this works for you though, feel free to ignore.
>>9239828
Meh. The only product with charcoal that I remember is The Yeon's Lotus Flower Charcoal Foam Cleanser. There are some really good charcoal konjac sponges but thats about it

I just accidentally bought 2 pairs of shoes instead of 1. It's not TOO big of a deal as I could sell the extra on LM, but have any of you had luck with refunds?

Okay you fluffy assholes let's brainstorm the best meetup ideas for lolita communities. Our comms are stagnating and we're bored out of our fucking minds with the usual shit.
Easy mode: Just rattle off your idea(s)
Normal mode: Have a picture or something to illustrate
Hard mode: Fucking pick a fucking meetup idea and put it on your comm's fucking calendar
Nightmare mode: DO THE MEETUP THE POST BELOW YOU SUGGESTS
Remember these fucking photos we all used to take? So old-fashioned, ugh. Get with the times with a SELFIE CIRCLE.
1. Gather in a circle, back to back
2. Lean backward until your wig starts to slip
3. Hold your phones up
4. Try to get as many faces in your selfie as possible
This will be the next JoJo pose or Dap I stg
How about: PARTY LIKE IT'S 2008
1. No wigs
2. No blouses
3. One petti per person MAX
4. Bodyline prints preferred
5. Listen to jpop from the era and talk about how the looming financial crisis will destroy a million indie brands you used to believe in

what is this, 2014
Hey all, just wanted to showcase an incredible Helm of Saint-14 3D print. I had purchased this to be used as a showcase at my Comicon stall while I travel around and it turned out even better than I had imagined...I will post a series of pictures in the thread.
That being said, it gave me an idea...If I was to reproduce this helmet out of EVA foam to wear, I can't quite figure out how to safely give myself vision without causing any aesthetic changes.
Can I get some thoughts please as I post?

First of all: you don't need your own thread.
>>9285125
Ignore this dude, it's clearly too early in the morning for them lol.
I dont know how you would get around those big face plates actually. If you cut small holes it would look silly and I assume the center isn't supposed to be much wider. Not sure what you can do bud, but that's a cool helmet
